- After several suggestions from you lovely lot, I have created this short video explaining in brief, each item under the bonnet of this 1275 A-Series Engine Bay. This is a super quick and hopefully easy guide to follow!
I know some of my followers like me, are more visually based as opposed to manual reading folk!
As always if i have missed something, or incorrectly labelled something, let others know below!
Hugs till the next time
Andy + Margo

Can't get much simpler than that. I grew up with these engines in so many cars and they gave me a great grounding for later adventures. The Midget is the perfect sports car for beginning your classic car journey.
It really is. I mean. They still bite you in the bottom sometimes when you're working on them though. But that's old cars for you
@@AndysMGAdventures I can't count the time my bottom has been bitten over the years. That's really another story though.
Yeah not even car related hahaha
Yes thats absolutely right! I am only 18 years old and i am happy i can work on my Austin Healey Sprite mk3. It has a 1275cc engine, su 4 carbs and it has a rally- sporty ish exhaust. I didn't get it to run right yet, but time will tell and once the weather is clearing up I cant wait to take it for a drive. My friend is going to buy a mazda mx-5 second gen witch i see as the granddaughter of the spridgets.
@@doit5560 Good the hear you're enjoying it. If you have the timing correct, valve clearance set correctly, and a good spark, it will almost certainly be the carb set up. Get yourself a decent vacumn gauge and spend some time balancing the carbs. Plenty of videos showing you how to do that. Have fun.
Yet again Andy another brilliant video. 😊
Shucks thanks mate
Thanks, very informative. Paused it and ordered the Moss catalog. Didn't know you could get hard copy free. Thanks
Good work that man!
Another great video Andy! Very clearly explained without any really technical jargon. Well done.
I see a new Andy’s MG Adventures Video, I like the Andy’s MG Adventures Video
Haha thanks!
Excellent as always Andy, very useful and enjoyable….thank you very much! 👍🏻
Pleasure mate, hopefully help some!
It is a very good video for the "newbies" Andy. Covered all of the important stuff. I am always happy to see a new AMGA instalment. Cheers.
Noice one James. 👌
KISS ... keep it short and simple. Something new learnt today, the valve to regulate the coolant water heat (or not) to the heater box.
One additional handbook ref to mention that I just got my hands on. The 1973 British Leyland Sprite Midget workshop manual. Yeah! Keep filming.
Haha good stuff! Good book that!
Hi Andy I just came across your channel, my dad just bought a 53’ morris minor and we are working on it together, it has a 1275cc engine so this was very helpful and informative!!
Wowzers, that's great to have a 1275 in a 53 moggy. She must go rather well !
And you're most welcome, a lot of this channel might help with that engine!
Great video, thanks my impossibly British friend
Nice, I must order a heating hose
I think it oddly looks nice with it in haha
Very nice Andy , well done. Apparently the blue stuff in your washer/scoosher bottle gums up. I use Fairy Liquid. Also your car would not originally have been fitted with an electric washer pump. Keep the vids coming. I enjoy them.
Fairy liquid??? You're having me on son! 🤣🤣🤣
@@AndysMGAdventures Stroo ,,,, honest Guv..
@@hanskurzen well grease my nipples. Great work John you legend
what is the chimney looking thing at the side off the radiator
hi do you know where the choke cable comes out to in the engine bay? ta
Know of any shop manuals that cover emissions? Haynes has some info but afraid i have some really specific details i might need.
So sorry I don't know!!!
Have you had to have your carbs reconditioned? if so where did you go please?
Nope they are running sweet !
