    Some very nice architecture, and quiet roads,from what I could see. So not bad at all, apart from the stairs.

    I live in Barcelona (I'm Irish) try and get along the coast to Badalona (I'm a triathlete) was there today, dead close to a great (quiet climb) in Tiana.
    I love this city, great for cycling.

    Another great video. Thank you. 🙂 It looked like you're using the Schwalbe G-One Overland tires. What do you think of them? I just ordered a pair for a ride next month from St. Malo to Barcelona. I'm hope they're going to be everything I, er hope they for. 😂

    • @ChrisHallRides

      Thank you! These are the Schwalbe G-One R tires on this bike which are one of their fastest gravel tieres but they really are much more of a racing tire. The Overland is absolutely fantastic. I'll be using them for some ultras this year and have them on my winter bike as well. They still roll pretty fast but much better puncture protection.

      Thanks@@ChrisHallRides . They do look like they'll be a perfect tire for the mixed riding through France and Spain. Happy riding 😃

    Nice video, how rides the Argon 18? How does it compare to the Caledonia?

    • @ChrisHallRides
      @ChrisHallRides  6 місяців тому

      The closer comparison would be the Argon 18 Krypton as opposed to this bike which is their gravel bike, the Dark Matter. The Krypron is to me is what a more all road bike should be. The Caledonia is still quite race focused

    I started to travel to Barcelona in the pre-cheap airline time when flights used to be expensive and nobody traveled to Barcelona. There was a tourism office underground at Plaça de Catalunya where hotel rooms were reserved. It was amazing in summer time because 4 star business hotels were cheap, something like 7000 pesetas/night. Later on I got used to smaller hotels in the city center, some of them also good but possible elevator problems. In the 21st century Barcelona isn't as attractive as it was. Hence, I don't travel to BCN much anymore because there are too many tourists, pick pockets and very little Catalan lifestyle. However, if I spend time in BCN, I always book a hotel at the coast in the Port Olympic / Diagonal Mar areas. Then you can have a modern hotel with a big enough elevator and avoid spending time in the Ramblas and other areas with all those problems mentioned above.

    Live in Spain and know all too well about the tiny lifts. Did you try popping the bike up on it's back wheel and going in at a 45 deg angle?. I can usually squeeze me and the bike in doing that, but then have to apologise to the other residents with "lo siento, no hay espacio" 😁. Nice look around Barna 👍

    • @ChrisHallRides
