Labour celebrate as Tories hammered in by-election and council races

- Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has renewed his demand for Rishi Sunak to go to the polls after the prime minister suffered a by-election drubbing and bruising council losses across England.
The opposition has also boasted of winning in the Tory leader's "backyard", notching up a victory in the contest for York and North Yorkshire mayor, which includes his Richmond constituency.
But while Mr Sunak said the the grim early results were "disappointing" for the Conservatives, he insisted he was "focused completely on the job at hand" and seized on the party holding the Tees Valley mayoralty.

Only realistic way of getting tories out, is to vote labour. Anything else is a naive waste of a vote and will contribute to the tories finding their way back in again at the next GE.

Agree. I only voted labour when Corbyn was leader. The problem with Jeremy Corbyn he had too much association with that Palestinian stuff etc. that put people off. if only labour choose someone without that kind of baggage but held onto his core pledges maybe they would have had a good chance of winning against Sunak because lets face it Sunak is a terrible PM.
