Phenomenal artistry, amazing interplay among the group. (Brooks Smith was Heifetz's accompanist for decades; Robert Mann founded the Julliard Quartet.) This treasure is no longer lost due to UA-cam and Stephen Clark!
Thank you, Mark.
This is a treasure. What an amazing and profound rendition of this masterpiece! Thank you.
Most beautiful clarinet sound I've ever heard.-Ron Shields
Thanks, Stephen, for preserving this recording. It's very valuable. Wright sounds great as usual.
Fabulous. Finally, other players worthy to be on the stage with Harold Wright.
His supreme artistry looms more and more powerfully over the clarinet world with each year after his passing.
I'm curious to know how Mr Wright was a teacher and person. I've heard one interview of him but would like to know more about him as an individual
My clarinet professor's favorite player....
I was there many years ago. A 20 year old student at Temple. Woody Jones
Beautifful collors of sound!
I love this man's playing,none better.-Ron Shields
Agree totally !
This piece along with Stravinsky's trio version of L'Histoire du Soldat are two trio war horses for the clarinet. They go hand in hand together for difficulty and renown. My Dad was chairman of a college music department in Texas and a student of Daniel Bonade and used to play this piece during the 1960s---I know because I worked the reel to reel tape recorder when he played it in concert. My Dad went on to write an Etude book for clarinet and used a variation of the clarinet part at 10:40 for his study.
Thank you- this is wonderful.
I had no idea this recording existed. Thank you!
