I absolutely adore this anime, from the art, atmosphere, story, music, etc. It’s so refreshing seeing a unique anime like this, you generally just get generic stuff most seasons but when shows like this appear, I always look forward to watching it.
I thought it was like promise never land but the more you watch the more "fucking nothing to do with it" it gets.

One thing that’s cool about the backgrounds is that it still looks like it’s drawn unlike most modern anime where it just looks like real life in the background. I kinda miss old anime where the backgrounds were hand drawn. This is just from the video as I haven’t seen it.
Backgrounds in anime ARE hand-drawn.
@@carloscauan7967 it depends on if the action requires heavy background movement, most high profile shows use cgi backgrounds for action scenes

While animation is amazing,the action sequences,the character acting, fabric animation are god tier,my favorite thing about this show is the beautiful art direction and the compositing ong.. bruh
Kentaro Waki's amazing compositing work set the atmosphere of a post apocalyptic world really well,and the art direction is nothing but stunning holy.. (Kaneko is smoking that post apocalyptic pack)
Heavenly Delusion came out of nowhere tbh,i didn't even knew that this show even existed.
Edit: And the osts are amazing,Kensuke Ushio is back at it.

Yuji Kaneko and Kentaro Waki are the unspoken goats of this show.
Kaneko is one of the greatest art directors alive in anime and has a stunningly wide creative style. He builds visually defining and awe inspiring worlds with just his skill alone. Even as an art director he's rare due to how he still creates Art Boards and BGs with poster colours via the traditional process.
Ad Waki, one of the best Anime DOP's alive. Such control over cinematic lighting and effects. Bringing the life of the animators work forward ten fold. The atmosphere he can strike up from a few filters blows my mind. Hs blood work is particularly amazing as he has mastered his own style of blood that has this deep gradient and carries a lot of depth. It feels so real.
DOP stands for director of production or what?
@@nobilyavkkq Director of Photography. They choose and make decisions when it comes to bringing the animation and background together in Adobe After Effects. They add filters, gradients, lights and whatever else.

This is my favourite ongoing anime right now... I started watching for the action, but there are a lot of other components that are done perfectly...
The music, art, perfect post-apocalyptic atmosphere, story pace is just perfect.
In other animes, I get bored when the pace of story is slow... But here they have done it so well... Even slow paced scenes are awesome due to the music and art...
The character acting of Dr. Usami was top notch... The scene when he is on the roof is so slow, yet it carries so much weight. 👌
Thanks for discussing about this amazing anime, it deserves more engagement. Everything about Heavenly delusion is just too great and it is painful af to wait for a new episode each week lol, The animation is top tier honestly and I think its even better than what Mappa is doing with Hell's paradise though that's amazingly animated too, Heavenly delusion doesn't leave room for criticism haha
Hell's paradise is average to above average because of the schedule and also because they were a bit understaffed
Ever since the first trailer came out i knew this anime was gonna be something else, i'm enjoying every bit of it, especially the production
The compositing and environments reminds me something of yuichi terao work. It's just that incredible
Although the compositing is kinda more (Grounded?) than terao. Which i perfer more
This could have easily been the anime of the season if this was released in any other season than this . Im pretty sure at the end of the season , most polls would have either oshi no ko or demon slayer as anime of the season , but i really want atleast a few of them to have this at the top( no hate to oshinoko or ds tho i am enjoying both of them)
If tengoku daimakyou was not being streamed on disney plus, i believe it could easily be in the top 3 on almost all anime corner and anime trending weekly charts.
This was an unexpected hidden gem, I went in not expecting much just a niche show with a decent first episode but then falls off dramatically after in terms of quality, but no this has become my number two most anticipated show right after Oshi no ko every week

It really depends on the show, it can be a takt op situation where one studio produces specific episodes entirely, that's a common one...

I’m so mad that Disney decided to put anime on the worst streaming service in America specifically, and it pisses me off. Everyone gets in on Disney+ except for here.
The reason I left streaming service is I can't access the anime I want to watch. Best decision Saves me 30£ a months

With all due respect, it is NOT better animated than Chainsaw Man, I don't think it's close either...
It's almost perfect. My only complaint is the chopinnes. I hate it when pose to pose animation with heavily spaced frames are done on 3s, it looks choppy and lacks in-betweens. In my subjective opinion, it is almost never a good thing. You can say it's there to increase the impact, but to me it just makes an inferior looking cut. Although still good looking, would look much better if it was smoother and had higher frame rate and more in-betweens.
Regardless, awesome video, everything is so well presented and easy to follow even when you discussed about stuff I hadn't been familiar with.
It's good they had a good "xoodul" for producing the anime without being forced to work all day with barely any sleep
