- Safety clearances in extra high voltage substation are very much important to maintain the basic insulation level of the system. If the system is designed without proper clearances there shall be insulation break down and flash over. A substation or a system faces several over voltage condition, due to lightning, due to switching or fault etc. These over voltages are capable enough to breakdown insulation and cause flash over.

THANKS FOR WATCHING......
I think section clearance should measure from the live point to person operating , kindly check once. 5:43
Thanks so much, very good recap.
In your video at time 8.32 you have multiple values of lightning impulse withstand peak voltages like 450/550/650 kV for 132 kV system rated volage. Can you say why? Thanks.
Wt is switching impulse voltage and lighting impulse voltage ...
Thank You Sir..
Hi good explanation. Please let me how we select gap in two equipment in same section.like gap between ct and cb
Specified in cbip manual
hi, do you work in any safety testing laboratory?
Please elaborate about testing of power transformers,,,,
Ground clearance is basically the distance between ground level and bottom of any insulator as per IEC 61936.
Is IEC 61936, will refer to the same clearance chart mentioned in video? ref: 8:55 mins
can you advice where u took that clearance chart from?
Cbip, indian standard
@@electricaltechnologyandind5335 will u share it please?
Please make vedio on cb selection for substations.
Okay i shall try...
Please guide for Lt and Ht also
Ht and lt systems are mainly housed inside a panel. So the assembly could be type tested at lab. Hence there is no recommended clearance. Manufacturer designs as per their standard and make high voltage tests on that. If the system withstands the design is correct. Also these panel bus bars has sleeved insulation.
Please mention IEC reference no.
I found those figures in indian standard
