I love hearing and seeing your kids. I don't find it distracting at all...in fact they add much joy to your episodes. Your creations are beautiful and really inspiring. I believe there is no need to make change s or buy special lighting. You should be very proud of what you're sharing with everyone...I love every episode and thank you!
Hi I love your videos My son and myself give “ JUST BECAUSE “ gifts that stand for just because I thought of you just because I love you gift. So give the 2 ladies at church a “ just because “ gift it doesn’t need to be a holiday gift.❤
Yes, please don’t think that your kids are distracting or even disturbing! They are a gift of God and most of us are happy to hear them, especially as they really were not loud (and I loved to see the love in your eyes when you looked at them)! The shawl for your friend is really beautiful and I cannot imagine she won’t love it. For me, I love your autumn sweater, too. I love the neutral color and the whole pattern. I certainly will knit it and hope to find a great yarn as you did, which may becomes difficult as I live in Europe. Of course we can buy drops here, but many other brands I have never heart. And as you said, the silk mohair is a bit itchy, also for me. I think someone else mentioned that this is because the length of the „hair“. She also mentioned one which shall be softer but I unfortunately can not remember which brand it was. You should always make notes, because after watching so many podcasts you almost can’t remember anything🙈. Maybe knitting for olive…, but I am not sure,… and I don’t know if you can get that on an acceptable price in the US. As you I am not really thrilled in colorwork. To be honest I don’t like to knit it. Nevertheless yours really look so nice. You really can be proud of you! (I am also wondering how can you find the time to knit so many wonderful things). You even have a husband who watches knitting films with you? How great is this!? I loved watching your podcast! Such a great variety of projects and you are such a nice young woman who really warms the heart. Thanks for sharing everything with us. I found some awesome projects for my list. Many greetings from Europe and I hope you will have a nice autumn and can enjoy all your beautiful knittings🫶.
Your projects are worked beautifully as always. And I really love the variety of projects you work on; good way to not get bored with one thing. I look forward to seeing your fall Shawl, that first skein you were gifted is gorgeous! I love hearing your children in the background; they are part of your life and are really not that noisy in the recording my dear; it's such a joy to hear them playing and laughing. So happy to see you here again, and look forward to the next time. Blessings Always ~ Mo 🙏✨💐
The thread that occasionally comes with yarn is usually nylon or polyamide to knit things like sock heels or toes. Definitely try them together and see if you like the result! I always enjoy seeing what you're knitting--another fun podcast!
It appears we all enjoy hearing your precious children in the background. I was just hoping you would do VLOGMAS again this year. It brought me so much joy las year but I understand that you are quite busy and may not be able to so no pressure here.
Hi Makayla, I just read on Facebook that the small spool of thread is knitted with the cashmere. The cashmere is not strong and breaks easily and the thread is needed for stability. The person who used it said it made a big difference, especially when washing. Also said all Chinese cashmere is sold this way. She said it works up beautifully. Happy knitting☘️
Your lighting is perfect right where you are podcasting! And, your children are a delight! My guess is that it bothers you much more than it bothers any one of your viewers! Have a wonderful week! 😊
Love the sweater you’re wearing it’s so sweet. Your kids sound like they’re having a great day which warms my heart. I live only a hop skip and a jump over the mountains from you so it’s like home watching you. God bless you and your family 🙏🏼🤗
Thanks for another lovely podcast. All your projects are beautiful but I particularly likes the colour-work jumper. Kids are kids and it is not natural for them to sit quietly. Great that they are healthy and full of fun.
I loved listening to your kids in the background, with kids I am always worried when they are quiet lol. Your knits and plans are wonderful. I am just at the end of my first Musselburgh and it is a lovely knit ❤
So good to watch your lovely podcast again. I love hearing and seeing your kids in your videos, my life sounds the same with little kids and it so good to see other mums enjoying their knitting around their kids. It takes away some of the isolation we can feel when we don't have many other people around who knit and have little kids.
Kids are fun!.. I don’t have little ones anymore, so it brought me back. My little one is 19 now!… Rosie is super cute. I added two of the patterns you showed to my queue 😅… take care!
Hello dear, such a joy to see you and your works. I want to tell you that the cashmire yarn goes with the threads together while knitting. It makes a soft and very beautiful result. I use it now in a 2nd half&half wrap. In red and...pink. such a great result. Try it. So soft and airy yet firm. Thak you for all the smiles you bring . Shilhav Kest.
I really enjoy your podcast and your children! 😄 The question about the small spool that came with the cashmere yarn came up in a Facebook knitting group that I’m part of. The thinner yarn is held with the cashmere to help it hold its shape. I’m looking forward to seeing what you make with it!
LOVE all your beautiful projects and upcoming plans! I cannot believe how quickly you finish things with all those kidlets around! Especially enjoyed the appearance of a little "mouse" at the end there! Too cute!! 😇
I had six children and had no issues with the giggles and smiles. My son just asked me to teach him to knit, he tried when younger and I have videos. He is now 24, but all the girls crochet, knit, or and hand embroidery, make jewelry and so forth. I am joining Amber's Ranunculus KAL so looking forward to my own. Currently working on a Summer Anker in Truboo and Yume in a Mountain Meadow Wool, and a Bean Cardigan for one grandgirl.
Your knitted projects are beautiful. I don’t know how you get so much done with small kids around. I’m hoping that our cooler NC weather is here to stay too. Kid noises are not a problem in video.
Always enjoy your podcasts - you knit beautifully. For socks, I have a high instep and learnt from Roxanne Richardson how to fix that tight feeling across the top of the ankle - by increasing my heel flap from 16 repeats to 20 repeats. This increases the decrease rows down each side and gives more ease. This might help if you want to continue with the smaller needles.
I loved all of your exquisitely beautiful projects! They are all so lovely, Makayla! 😍 You are really quite the knitter! I just finished the 2nd Dandelion cardigan size 10 in a dark blue. I just love it. Am now nearing the end of my Film Reel Socks. It's such a fun pattern. Have you seen it? I look forward to seeing you again! Take care! 🧶
I believe the tubular bind off is a Kitchener stitch, just without actually grafting anything and using one needle. All those setup rows though, whoever figured it out has lots of patience!
Your alpine bloom is beautiful. Lovely to see it in the different yarn. I was shocked to see spincycle give all the profits from their seconds to abortion. I had $300 of their yarns. I could never wear that.
Your alpine bloom is absolutely gorgeous! I have to make one just like yours. Zauberball yarn is awesome. Best wishes Margaret-My Wonderful Knitting Life podcast!
Hi Makayla, I was so excited to see your podcast pop up just in time for me to sit down and knit. You have so many lovely projects and plans. I just swatched for two new knits - the Turtle Dove Cardi and the Autumn League Pullover (thanks to your inspiration). Your little ones are so precious!!
You may need to knit a deeper heel to get a better fit. I understand that is the solution if you have a high instep. Your work is beautiful! Have a great day! Cindy
I'd have to research it again to remember...but certain yarns (wool, acrylic, cashmere, etc) react differently when burned. I've heard of other knitters burning just the tip of the yarn to decipher what material it is.
Kids are kids, dont worry about their chatter. Its not distracting in the video but might be for you😊. Love your daughter. Children grow up too quickly. Enjoy every minute with them. My 2 boys are 29 and 32 and 450km away. I miss them. The Alpine Bloom colourwork and lace pattern is so pretty. I found that being tired/stressed, can make you keep catching/biting the side of your mouth. Does the average US skein have the same yardage? And if so, how many yards? I live in South Australia and not familiar with US quantities.
That's interesting about the stress/tiredness. I do feel as if I can never get enough sleep, and life with small kids is stressful 😅 I know I'll miss these days though, trying my best to hold onto them ❤️❤️
As far as yardage goes, it depends on the skein. Most skeins come in either 50 grams or 100 grams, and the yardage will differ depending on the yarn weight.
@@sugarfolkhomemade True with yardage for yarn weight. I should have been more specific. Ask hubby to give you time out from the children once a week. Even just by having a sleep-in to catch up on sleep. As it is full-on and tiring.
@@judithtaylor6916 oh he is Wonderful about taking some of the load off. All I have to say when he walks in the door is "I'm going downstairs to have a bath" and he jumps right in to take over for a bit while I have some quiet. I consider myself very blessed in the husband department 🥰

I also fell victim to the “cashmere” yarn. Mine didn’t come through Temu. I did some research and the threads are held with the yarn to make it more stable. Not sure how I acquired the info because the label was mostly chinese(?) lettering.
Oh I have been SO curious about that “cashmere” yarn! Glad to hear you think it feels nice! Excited to hear more feedback if you give any after starting your project and knitting with it. Btw I personally am not bothered by the sounds of the kiddos. 😁 Not that my opinion matters. 😂
I appreciate your channel, you're knitting is beautiful. I hope you will consider the possible negative impact of purchasing yarn from vendors like Temu, and it's effect on the animals, people and our environment to produce such cheap yarn. Honestly can't think of a more unethical way to source cashmere. I'm certain your interest was out of curiosity, as you have a lovely spirit, but please do consider the impact, as you have a lot of viewers.
