I found Killing joke by accident. I bought a used Black Flag vhs tape that had some of their early live performances on it. It wasn't long, maybe 30 minutes. But there was 30 minutes of short previews after that of other bands, one of them was Killing Joke and it was this song. I was like, holy shit, who are these people because they are way better than Black Flag. I've never been the same since....
One of the greatest songs of all the post punk era, with one of THE greatest ac-tors of all time making a hameo appearance in this video - Arnold Ziffel
I think this is the most political man in the world craziest stuff they shot in the stuff they sing about even back in the 80s. It was outrageous. It’s still out rages cool
Such a great song! In my opinion, Killing Joke was a little more creative back in their early days. They had different sounds to their songs and it didn't all sound the same. Even though I still love KJ, their newer material can tend to all run together at times.
Siouxsie and the Banshees' original drummer Kenny Morris was the first to create this tribal drumming in 1977 and Budgie mastered these primitive drums on the Slits' album and on the Banshees' lp "Kaleidoscope" ! Chronology, anyone ? And Killing Joke cited the Banshees in their influences
Quite apart from the fact that KJ and Devo have very little musical similarity, there's the fact that Devo formed five five or six years before Killing Joke
Paul's drumming in this song is fantastic
True, but Paul’s drumming is always fantastic.
The sarcasm and irony of this is hilarious :)
One of the best albums ever and I still own the original album .
Absolutely, a personal favourite
One of my favs as well. I have it on vinyl, signed by all 4 original members! Definitely one of the coolest records in my collection.

After all those years remains a massive track, first time I heard 40 years ago was blown away!!!
And the double-A side to the 7” single in the UK was Change, another thumper of a song.
Groundbreaking
I concur.
Follow The Killing Joke!

Fantastic!
Imagine how fucking awesome to be the guy pulling the trigger on the nuke....going back home and just being like yeah I did that.
Big Paul is the leader in tribal drumming as far as Iam concerned with UK Decay's Steve Harle coming a close second.
The tribal drumming best , for sure!
I would add Martin Atkins to this list, who , as it happens, also played with Killing Joke.
Edited for crap spelling.
Bow Wow Wow don't forget!

@@carljules3123 Mate, how do you know that bloke originated the tribal sound? It's been around since the monkeys. Not the band.

"human Nature"
You can totally hear who influenced Devo in this song.
Quite apart from the fact that KJ and Devo have very little musical similarity, there's the fact that Devo formed five five or six years before Killing Joke
That pig is cute!
Quite possibly the most politically correct video ever. The truth. Killing Joke RULED!
Not a punk band, more like a new romantic band!
They need to update this with Fauci, Trump, Biden, the Pope and all of the other big Pharma vaxx pushers.
Omg, right?!!!
Putin theme
The vocals are absolutely atrocious .
