Woohoo! Thanks for sharing our film guys, really means a lot to us. You have no idea how much those biscuits helped us, we rationed them out all the rest of the day 😂 great video, love the drone footage of the troopy and of the frozen lake.
No worries, happy to share. After our trek in Nepal we had a small insight into the delicacy of carrying your camera equipment and memory cards for long periods. So kudos for pulling it off along with the physical effort required to complete the trip. Loved the film!
I actually watched Clare and Antoine's movie before this episode, and was wondering if you had crossed paths. It was really great to see them on here, and to hear that you gave them some biscuits and water ... I think they like apples too? It was an amazing film, and everyone who enjoys and/or is inspired by The Way Overland should definitely watch it.
Thanks for the tip, it looks interesting, I will watch it on the home trainer this afternoon, I'm to weak to go ride in the rain 😂 ua-cam.com/video/FjhTegkTN4Q/v-deo.html
Thank Neil - it's definitely a different experience. Having done a spot of cycle touring previously there's definitely pros to both means of travel, the almost forced interaction with the locals when cycling can open up some great interactions/opportunities! The mental sense of accomplishment is also very rewarding. We have talked frequently about re-doing the Pamirs, watching their video has made us seriously talk about cycling it.
I just came your channel a few weeks ago....that I'm blown away with the content would be putting it mildly....can't believe you guys have been at this for so long !! The video's....the editing....the music.... unbelievable....keep up the good work (I cannot even imagine how much effort, time and hardwork goes into this) !! I don't think vloggers (like you) ever understand how much they inspire people in reality !....thank you for that and all the very best to you guys.....will be following your journey with much anticipation !!....all the very best !!
Thanks! Glad you like the videos (and appreciate the work!). We hoped to inspire people to see the world so glad that sounds like it's had an effect. Cheers
Wow I could watch your videos for hrs on end , this was so beautiful of countryside in the snow and the shots of the ice . ( That bird was like hay now this is the way to travel ). Loved also that shot of the fox or ( coyote) along the lake shore . And those yurts the design of them is awesome , and to live in them year around in that invirment as your home is awesome .. You two are great ambassadors of over landing , showing how the people live , eat and sleep by really doing it your selfs . Hope to meet you both some day out over landing . Tell then cheers and thanks for bringing your awesome adventure videos to us all your over landing friends . From Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. ...... P.S..... thanks for the link to the over landing bikers video . I love bike camping travel and sea kayaking along with over landing . cheers 🥂.
🤣 yes, our curious little flying friend definitely wanted to come along for the ride! The beauty of the design of the yurts (or Bozui Ui as we’ve just discovered), is that they can be packed down easily and moved. So changing locations depending on the seasons is manageable. That spot next to the lake though was pretty magic! Thanks for the comments Steve, glad you’re enjoying our footage. Enjoy Clare and Antoine’s video! Cheers! 🙂
I'm following every episode here in Brazil,Rio de Janeiro, I wish I could travel through these countries someday, congratulations each episode better than the other!!!! Beautiful images!!!
So glad you guys stayed in the yurt homestay!! Your video brings back so many memories, so funny to see our meeting from the other perspective too. Thanks so much for sharing the link to our video as well, really appreciated. Lots of love from our current position in Tanzania! 🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♂️
Oh guy’s just in ore of this adventure your on. Truly amazing scenery is mind blowing and the isolation. Wild life you must be seeing. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Thank you so much. Beautiful. And the yurts... incredible. Because I have been staying put due to the pandemic.... I am so grateful to be able to travel virtually!
ufff what a journey! i am a general cartography enthusiast, such a pleasure to watch google maps come into life! Is there any plans on uploading the Xianjiang part ?
Coincidently probably as close to home as those plates have felt from a landscape and isolation perspective. That 'plov' can definitely sort out hunger problems, very filling!
Amazing as always!!! 'The sheep with the ghetto booty' ROFLMAO 😁😊😛 They are actually called Hip Hop sheep, na just kidding, but still laughing my *&^ off You guys are amazing and na you don't need to pick up your game since I'm watching your adventure from my bed in Florida in early morning. I need to pick up my game and step outside the door and go for a walk on the beach.
I really like this remote adventure style of yours. It feels so magical and an escape from everything. Im from Pakistan and have explored the wilderness of the north of gilgit, hunza, sawat and till Khunjerab Pass/Border until now, hopefully more later. keep producing such great content and keep travelling. Amazing Job guys
An incredible contrast! Ha as long as the fires burning hot with the smoke out the flu there's really no smell, on some occasions during our trek in Nepal the fire would smolder and fill the room with smoke. This would introduce some funky smells!
@@TheWayOverland forgot about that fox shot too, that was amazing! Yeah, we travelled in the opposite direction from Dushanbe to Osh in Aug '18 via Wakhan and Zorkul. It was easier to get the permit for Zorkul in Khorog than it is in Murghab I think (watched the next vid and saw you guys couldn't get it). Never seen so many overlanders and cyclists in our life than on the Pamir! Would love to return, can't get enough of scenery like this.
Thanks! A diesel heater would be a luxury! Our original planning for the journey didn't include travelling through colder climates. We could've installed one when we changed our plans on the road though we found extra clothing layers and blankets sufficient.
Read your info above and even that alone is worthwhile. We enjoy your stories every time you published them . My wife and I are cyclists too. And the Region you’re now is on our bucket list. It must be overwhelming there. THE SOUND OF SILENCE. We are Curious to this episode and also to the2 cyclists. We wish you well and keep the faith.
@@shakirullah2117 oh, yes i shuld tell you that you can go to Tajiistan by using Afghanistan roads, but it does not have a safe road, because you must pass the kunduz province road wich is not to safe.
You may have answered this before but I missed it. But I see an antenna and I was wondering what communication system(s) you use? And as world travelers, how often have you used them. If you could change anything what would it be. I’m planning my travels in a Jeep. Thank you in advance.
The antenna is for the CB radio. For travelling in the outback/west/north of Aus. is handy to talk to trucks to ask about wide loads, if you can pass etc, or if you're travelling with other people. Out of Aus. we didn't use it because we didn't need to apart from the very brief times we travelled with other overlanders as a simple means to communicate between the vehicles. We wouldn't take it out as we use it daily at home and its not worth the effort. If you're building a vehicle specifically for international overloading its definitely not needed. A couple of handhelds would suffice if you plan to travel with another vehicle for extended periods. We carry a coupe of handhelds too for when we're scouting camp spots or tackling some rough terrain, one of us can have the handheld and talk to back to the Troopy. Apart from the a sat phone for emergencies, and just mobiles. The world is pretty covered with reception these days and sim cards are cheap!
@@TheWayOverland thank you so much for your insight. That’s what I was understanding too for international travel. A lot of US Overlanders get CBs and other radios so I appreciated your insight.
This video was both beautiful and tragic… Beautiful landscapes but tragic in the fact that now we know that western consumerism has reached the remote corners of Tajikistan. To know that the yurt owners are spending all their hard earned money on the wife's affinity for “genuine” Louis Vuitton luxury goods is tragic. I can really relate to that husband, I can really relate to his pain. ;) Regarding your hopeful destinations for the spring/summer of 2021, that is a mighty fine list… the Caucasus mountains in Georgia look sweet... Iceland and the Faroe Islands, would be an amazing ferry ride just getting there, North Sea and North Atlantic. I’ve been to Iceland 3 times but only for a combined +/- 100 hours total… Norway would also be amazing, Lofoten is a dream destination… If you are heading to Morocco, on your way down maybe in Portugal Nazare will be pumping and you can try out some proper big waves ;) Also if you make it to Morocco you only have another casual 12,000KM south to the South Cape in South Africa. You never know where the Troopy will take you... :)
Gosh that view behind those tents or huts from the drone 👍👍👍. Just epic.
