Pilot should have looked at the hazards on the flight route and marked them
There was a light on at the top and pilots know about this tower so something else went on than what people are saying .
The light was atv900’ and the helicoptered 600’ so the pilot … she probably didn’t see the light and the tower was supposed to have more lights. Unless you think there’s a conspiracy? 😂
@@joephillips7612I saw the report of 600 feet flight level, but that copter looks like it was about 100 feet below the top of the 1150 foot tower, so more like FL 850-950 feet.

I'm guessing maybe a distracted pilot. With three other people on the helicopter the pilot may have been looking elsewhere rather than paying attention. Or could have been a mechanical failure that made the copter become uncontrollable.
Hazards such as radio towers are prominently marked on flight maps. Aren’t pilots flying over a city required to make a flight plan, or are there other rules for helicopters? I don’t know so that’s why I’m asking.

Pilot should've known the height( 999ft) to fly over the tower and wires surrounding the tower and heard 1 light was on at the top only instead of 3 or 4.top to bottom.
0:45 seconds you can see it impacted just below a mid tower light. Only way pilot wouldn't see that big dang light would be if he was looking behind himself at his passengers, distracted flying?
