@@zartexkrontaculys1097 I think one of the effects of the World Gone Beautiful is that it takes all the wories and fear away so it can end peafully since no one would really be that calm at the idea of the world ending. If so that makes World Gone Beautiful even better.

We have a saying in my country: "Ultimo dia, nadie se enoja", which literally translates to "last day, no one gets angry". We say this whenever its the last day of something, like school, or when someone is having their last day at their current job, and therefore, we have to say farewell with joy, peace and love. This SCP feels like a living, world-scale embodiment of that saying.

This SCP is the most bittersweet one Sure yeah, no one would be calm if we had word that the world was ending, but this SCP makes flowers and calms down everyone It's like the SCP is telling everyone "yeah, you're all gonna die in 24 hours, but that's bound to happen, no need to panic, go smell the flowers"
Honestly, yeah, I would kill to see a professional animation of this exact event taking place, as everything is happening in flashes across the screen. Seeing world leaders make peace, flowers blooming all around, one final moment of absolute serenity. It would be lit, I must say.
Ah, an SCP-001 story, this is going to be interesting. What’s that you say it’s about the end of the world. I’d be slightly annoyed at this common theme but I feel….absolute calm.
@@raquelmarinho5539 btw when you everyone that doesn't include me i woudl tell half the human population about the sealed king and also release every scp i could.
These kinds of stories always make my cry and, honestly, get angry. How dare you go peacefully into the night. Doesn't it say something about our society that so many people find this beautiful? It's death. It's a testament to how we could make the world better, right now, way before the end. But we're not doing it. Why not? Why does it only seem believable that we could all have a good day when it's followed by death?
My theory is because humans are just hard-wired to seek conflict. No matter how much we try to deny it, we're still apes that like to wave big sticks at each other.
Because humans and life in general is competitive, combative, and hostile to any opposition. When the Absolute End comes, all creatures lose the will to keep living. And that's what brought peace. Possibly a memetic effect, possibly just an innate part of life in-universe. The flowers signal the unavoidable end. And everyone is at peace with it so there's no worries about people who want to hurt you, resource shortages, ideologies, inequality, etc.
This scp can be defined as the calm before the storm. Just the sounds of childrens playing, relatives laughing together, the birds singing and the warm gentle breeze. A peaceful day indeed. Which will all come to an end without even knowing how it happened but knowing, that it happened.
I like to think of it as just the calm. Nobody knew it happened everyone knew it would but didn't care. One moment life just vanished without pain or sadness, after a day that was universally spent loving one another. The storm never came, cause let's be honest, this is the exact way anyone would want to die

A good epilogue I'd say. Want the finale to be the big conclusion to something like the ouroboros cycle or the like. But yeah this would be an amazing ending. Like at the end of the final season finale, a flower just starts to bloom and everyone knows...
I can imagine that the one person who would definitely like this ending would be Dr. Bright as I'd imagine he'd spend his days with his remaining family members, knowing that his immortality will finally come to a peaceful end.

Why does this make me cry 😭😭 of all the horrors in the SCP universe, I think it's seeing all of it just settle in and be happy in a way their universe strongly disfavors. Hearing Iris get to go back to her family is the part that really made me cry.
I'd spend the whole day in bed, only getting up to eat something sweet. I've done this many times over the years due to depression and anxiety disorders. But this time I could just enjoy having a peaceful rest day... in bed, warm, calm, conforted, instead of covered in sweat and tears, teeth clenched and muscles tense involuntarily, my mind a vortex of negativity. And then a sweet morsel, a PB&J sandwich or some chocolate, something to feel like a child, a flavour of nothing to worry, just for the sake of tasting something sweet, instead of it being a guilty snack, a reward I didn't deserve because I was a useless slob. Yeah, repeating this same day like many times before but this time doing it right and feeling good about it would be a nice end.
How about doing it now instead? Then you can gradually start working towards a change. But you don't need the end of the world to figure out apparently, since you understand you need to make a change. I'm with you buddy :D

This feels like a mind control type of stuff, the most powerful kind. The fact that everyone just accepted it without ANY resistance is very weird. No trying to reverse it, no trying to escape that reality, nothing. If it isn't mind control and it really is impossible to stop does it mean that every reality will be destroyed at once?
Basically a version of SCP 2935 but with a powerful and universal mind-altering effect to make the end as painless and peaceful as possible for all inhabitants.
This might be my favorite SCP article of all time, alongside the tale "Quiet Days". They both have the same peaceful melancholy feeling, asking "now that it's over, what was it all for?"
This reminds me of the idea in my head that after the heat death of the universe, credits will roll and everyone and everything who ever came to be comes together on stage to give one last bow before whatever comes next. I like this idea if solely it implies that everyone had a part to play and there were actually no evil people/ideas/things in the grand scheme of things.
Who left the onions here? I love this proposal. It feels as something natural and predetermined. It feels as a victory for humanity and the non-aggressive anomalies because it means nothing evil, horrible or gruesome ended things prematurely, and we just lived for as long as we were supposed to, as well as having peace in the end.
Seriously ? This one freaked me out. Accepting a forced outcome just like that, no fighting back or anything. I mean, the end of fights isn't necessarily a good thing in and on itself. People fight for a reason. It feels like something managed to fuck up everyone's mind, like some kind of global cognitive hazard. I know it's not supposed to be taken this way, that this is supposed to be a "good ending", but I just can't see the good part here. It feels like a complete game over for mankind.
@@vava87240 for me it feels more natural as I said. Besides, I'll take this way to go over melting into a pile of flesh due to an anomalous sun. At least we go in peace.
I mean, this is pretty scary to me, I’d prefer you know, not a world ending scenario occurring, there are ways presumably to stop the melting sun besides resetting the universe, as there are for the Scarlet King, I think this is the one of the only (if not the only) world ending event that we can’t do anything about besides resetting the universe
@@jacob414 One thing that I really like about this proposal is this exact sentiment. It almost acts as a Rorschach test on acceptance of death in and of itself. Personally, taking it at face value, it's not a deal I'd necessarily turn down. If death comes, then let it come, but let me be at peace and without regret when it does. Because, for all of us as individuals, it very much is inevitable, and the question is how much do we get done and what kind of life have we lived when the Reaper calls our number.

If it's my last day, I'd spend it just simply enjoying the things I did everyday one last time. Savoring each sensation. Taking the last morning jog as the flowers grew, then imaging and picturing some old characters and scenes I adored in the stories I read. scp-001 also known as "The World's Gone Beautiful" Part One: Twee Pop Let's talk about the purpose of using this particular object class. Firstly, it takes a departure from the fairly standard object classifications by using a completely mundane word. Think about it, Embla, Apollyon, Maksur, Netzach, all are foreign words that are generally used to sound massively important. If someone is using an esoteric object class, they're setting up the reader to expect something extremely groundbreaking or fantastic, something that obviously sets apart the article from the standard storytelling SEK format. While Keter tells us the anomaly is difficult to contain, Apollyon fundamentally changes what we expect from the article. We expect the Apollyon article to have multimedia, be about the Scarlet King, to have at least twenty offsets, and fundamentally and irreversibly change the lore of the SCPverse, among several other things. But here, "unnecessary" strives to achieve that same purpose, to the opposite extreme. "Unnecessary" is an English word, one that isn't niche or bizarre. I'm fairly certain you and I know what it means, as opposed to Ein Sof which requires an entire footnote and a half to explain. By using a normal English word, the document is now easily accessible to the general population, i.e. the audience. SCP-001 doesn't hide behind code words or indomitable technicality. The object class is very simply "unnecessary", and it's something the common layman can understand even if we have no knowledge of the anomalous. That also goes for the rest of the article. There's even a double entendre at work here, that the object class itself isn't necessary. I'll explain this one more in the description.I'll answer that. "Unnecessary" serves several roles, the first of which is tailored to the audience. Since the audience comes expecting the SCP-001 to be a grand piano and an orchestra, this object class subverts that expectation. Imagine this. You enter the SCP-001 Hub, you're greeted with a scary cool memetic kill agent and over . This thing has been engineered to importance. But then you get Lily's Proposal. It doesn't pretend to be all encompassing or massively complex with a crazy object class like Thaumiel/Apollyon. It isn't a foreign word, it's easy to understand, and with that subversion, "unnecessary" essentially captures the attention of the reader. Part Two: Electronicore So special, the conprocs are technically a holdover from the original format! I'll explain this later. Just keep this in mind. SCP-001 does not need to be contained. That's interesting! This is very uncharacteristic of the Foundation, known for its borderline obsessive containment of anomalies. Clearly, something about SCP-001 is off. We don't know what yet, but it'll make a lot of sense. In the event of SCP-001 occurring, all personnel, including D-class, are to be honorably discharged, and may do what they wish with their remaining time. This tells us SCP-001 is final. These personnel are not coming back after an SCP-001 event, since they've been officially released. No tricky Foundation sleeper agents or something equally crazy. They're gone for good. Keep this in mind.Honorably discharged is an interesting procedure to include. Historically, this is most often used in a militaristic context, so I'll be looking for the qualifications of an honorable discharge in the wikipedia page: Part Three: Future Funk Part Four: Folk Blues (crap its broken well i'll do this later or the next day after this)
I actually like these types of endings. There's no hope but that's not bad. There's no bargaining, no denial, no anger, no whatever, only acceptance and that is peace in itself
Id like to imagine that at 23:55 every television screen around the world simultaneously played that video of Patrick riding a seahorse to the ending music from Evangelion.
I can't beleive I cried to this. I just wish the world was this way all the time. No violence, no hurt, no hate, no pain, just calmness and happiness. Nothing to worry about anymore.
It's strange how fickle and ultimately fictional stories such as these can feel almost like a seperate reality that we have yet to scientifically discover. It bring one's self to a sense of tranquility, as though nothing is wrong. It's strangely calming to hear about this, albeit fictional, view on how the world could die, as was repeated in the video and by some commenters, it's oddly calming.
This was beautiful. The only thing I would have added, was 053 getting to spend her last few hours with 682. I literally almost started ugly crying when God said "We had a good run, didn't we?" What a wonderful way to end it. I appreciate your hard work so much. You give so many people more than entertainment. You give us an escape. I would enjoy one good meal, not bothering to wash the dishes after, and then go for a walk. Depending on where I was, I either take to the seas or I would find my way to the most secluded, isolated place among the fields or the trees. On my boat or in my solitude, I would play the music saved on my phone and dance horribly to it and not care. I would then enjoy the silence of nature and marvel at its majesty. Maybe share an understanding gaze with a wild animal. However, if its cold or raining outside, I would drive toward a town I'd never been to before stopping at farmhouses to talk with the owners. In those brief moments, learn who they were and see how they lived. When the day is done, regardless of where I am, I would lie awake in my bed remembering all of the interesting things I did and saw that day. The sights, the sounds, the smells, the people. Only passing out and away to thoughts of promising myself to do more, starting in the morning. And reminding myself to do the dishes.

I like to think that this SCP-001 is some kinda of prequel to When Day Breaks Everyone goes outside and play together and when the 24 hours finally passes the day breaks and everyone dies
When Day Breaks would be a horrible way to go. From the way that the flesh blobs talk, you cant tell if you have been absorbed and are part of the blob and are compelled to ask people to join it or if you are truly dead the moment you get absorbed and some power is taking over your body. Honestly I would pick the latter over the former, knowing that I would be trapped for all eternity with countless others asking people to die is a pretty horrible fate in my opinion
@@Catsrnice_ Its said in the file even if someone were to terminate themselves and the flesh gets ahold of them it brings them back from death to be an immortal amalgamation with any other humans/beasts the blobs turned and absorbed. Not even death can save you in a When Day Breaks scenario.
You know the world is just done for when the old man is behaving like he’s your closest and dearest friend. I guess the last death is a reason to be kind, like a last goodbye.
If this happened to me, I would just spend 2 hours with my family, spend another hour or 2 eating my favorite food, and finally for the rest of the hour spend my time outside touching the grass laying on a beach chair sitting out on the sun and playing my favorite video games, since I won't be able to play them anymore if were gonna all die anyways.
We're all forgetting one VERY important question here: what's SCP-4999 going to do? Is there an SCP-4999 FOR SCP-4999? Will 4999 be everywhere, with everyone, all at the same time?
The younger of the Brothers Death will likely be helping his elder brothers in the celebration of life's last day, happy no one has to die alone anymore
This has made me think. Not about any of that philosophy stuff but rather about 682. Maybe instead of termination, they should try... well to talk with it before easing the pain? After all... you can't kill an idea, but you can help it.

But my happiness and my ability to be content are solely and entirely based on my capacity to be- be it consciously aware of my own existence and/or to be able to think unhindered, good reason why I find it extremely hard to sleep but that's besides the point that I find the concept for this 001 entry to be the most horrific- if I know I won't be soon. How can I be content knowing I'll soon not be able to know?? Or be content at all?! How can I remian calm if I won't be able to remain anything!? What's it like to be nothing? What reason is there to be calm when I can only be calm knowing and acknowledging my own conscience. I need therapy.

Most people live with the nihilistic postmodern ideal in their heads. No wonder death is an ideal.
We're just tired.
What? It isn't death at all, it's the end of the world.

And then a sweet morsel, a PB&J sandwich or some chocolate, something to feel like a child, a flavour of nothing to worry, just for the sake of tasting something sweet, instead of it being a guilty snack, a reward I didn't deserve because I was a useless slob.

scp-001 also known as "The World's Gone Beautiful"
Part One: Twee Pop
Let's talk about the purpose of using this particular object class.
Part Two: Electronicore
So special, the conprocs are technically a holdover from the original format!
Historically, this is most often used in a militaristic context, so I'll be looking for the qualifications of an honorable discharge in the wikipedia page:

the world's gone beautiful isn't in itself an XK class end of the world scenario. it's the prelude to one.

@@mikeydude750 Explaining 'why' would require imagination, or creativity. Dude, anybody could have wrote this. It's freakin stupid.
@@IchbinX I think that I found the pretentious piece. It's you my dude. If anyone could have wrote it, why not take it then for its simplicity and supposed ease of creation? You should know by now that the simplest things created garner some serious renown, and should respect that it clearly has some form of untold presence that you haven't grasped about them that makes them special.
@@pneudles3689 Seems like I struck a nerve. Sry I called out something you like. My dude.
Undertale and SCP Foundation: Both afraid of the lines "It's a beautiful day outside," and "The Flowers are Blooming"
But why should you be its allowing you and me to finally let go and find peace
@@deepstrike9750 indeed. Why should they be scared? Its like the best way to die. From the outside it looks shit, but remember. This is better than literally anything else that could and will end the world.
@@blank-3403 Well it's not in Undertale.
“096, 682, and 106 join arms and dance.”
I like to think that this SCP-001 is some kinda of prequel to When Day Breaks
Everyone goes outside and play together and when the 24 hours finally passes the day breaks and everyone dies
@@Catsrnice_ Thats the point, nobody would expect such event after the most peaceful moment
I love this explanation, as this video didn't have a story or background to it AT ALL
@@Catsrnice_ Its said in the file even if someone were to terminate themselves and the flesh gets ahold of them it brings them back from death to be an immortal amalgamation with any other humans/beasts the blobs turned and absorbed. Not even death can save you in a When Day Breaks scenario.
That'd be a fucked up ending.
Sounds pretty accurate.
You know the world is just done for when the old man is behaving like he’s your closest and dearest friend.
I guess the last death is a reason to be kind, like a last goodbye.
Imagine if nothing happens and it's just everybody being friends
If this happened to me, I would just spend 2 hours with my family, spend another hour or 2 eating my favorite food, and finally for the rest of the hour spend my time outside touching the grass laying on a beach chair sitting out on the sun and playing my favorite video games, since I won't be able to play them anymore if were gonna all die anyways.
Imagine if it was a sinario like the lake monster that died ages ago
I'd spend time with my family. Ideally also go for a swim. Everything is beautiful so I bet the water would be just perfect regardless of the season
We're all forgetting one VERY important question here: what's SCP-4999 going to do? Is there an SCP-4999 FOR SCP-4999? Will 4999 be everywhere, with everyone, all at the same time?
He would finally rest knowing that this world time is done he would be...happy for his kids for his sons, daughter s
The younger of the Brothers Death will likely be helping his elder brothers in the celebration of life's last day, happy no one has to die alone anymore
Pretty much what the rei clones did at the end of evangelion I guess
4999 only appears if there is absolutely no-one else there in the dying's final moments. Safe to assume no-one will be alone during this time.
@@Pineapply_Queen and he can only be in one place at time
This has made me think. Not about any of that philosophy stuff but rather about 682. Maybe instead of termination, they should try... well to talk with it before easing the pain? After all... you can't kill an idea, but you can help it.
I think I would call everyone I've ever known and tell them how much I appreciate them for everything they ever did for me in my last 24 hours, then I would grab my favorite book and read it one last time.
You know, if I had to pick a way to go, this doesn't seem so bad, quite calm if I'm honest
DANG this almost made me cry, some good story telling right there
This is beautiful, as someone who loves the concept of acceptance, this is my best dream.
I hate it cuz I don't get it, this some stupid Lovecraft
@@softlightlaboratory It's not because, it's scary or bizarre, humans are only alive because we are worried about our future, image yours, uncertain is it not. Honestly, it's actually pretty sad.
Everybody lying down and just accepting it isn't how i'd go out if I had the choice.
Everything just being doomed to be ended, and nobody keeping their happiness for long.
I'd only possibly be happy if I knew that other worlds wouldn't suffer the same fate as I.
If I knew that other worlds would have to suffer it, i'd decide to test if uniting the two SCPs that can reset the world to see if I could offset it.
I'd leave myself a single notice so I would know that whatever I did worked, so I can keep the world happy.
Who knows, maybe we can even keep the calming properties to make all sides still happy, but without the world ending.
No….that’s not gonna work. Any feelings of trying to do anything other than be happy have all been nullified so you WOULDNT be willing to do anything else but go calmly. You’d simply just accept it like all others
its pretty sad yes
Lmao watch the video and listen this time
In a world where if the end didn't happen, more sufferings occuring later.
Wouldn't you also want the end of emotions by death to free yourself?
Surely such day doesn't sound bad. Besides, you can peacefully leave the world knowing you tried your best at being a person.
If we had to, Mr. Lie and the anti-meme, but that's unnecessary, enjoy the warm air, the flowers, the peace, there's only a little longer after all.

It's like every single creature in the world has simultaneously entered an amplified, prolonged post nut clarity. World peace achieved.
But at what cost?
