🌹 You don't have to be a tailor to sew this dress | cutting and sewing dress this way is easy
When sewing a garment on the bias you let it hang for 24 hours before sewing. All garments cut on the bias stretch; you do not want it to do this after you sew the seams as they will pucker. This is one of the first techniques taught at Uni when bias draping and sewing is introduced.

Good advice, and very true I can remember the very first dress many many years ago that I made that was cut on the bias. I almost had a heart attack when I saw what happened to the edges. Lol❤

French seams are the best. Looks so much nicer than serger edges alone and I think holds up better. This would be a great beach wedding bridesmaids dress design.
Very light and can be whatever fabric. Add a lining maybe depending on fabric.
But this could very easily be super cool in the beach heat and flattering on every type of lady.
Like a bunch of flowers, all different but each as pretty as the other. ❤

You got to appreciate a sewing w/o a lot of uneeded pins and froo froo gadgets to make it complicated. Cool and pretty. Thanks for the comment about hanging bias for the stretch release
I love no talking sewing videos generally but my pet peeve with them is when the sewist folds fabric but you can't tell if it's right sides together or wrong sides together and they don't actually tell you. So you're left baffled as to how everything is folded which can lead to a very expensive fabric mistake. Thank you for picking fabric where it's obvious which side the folds are on. Can't wait to try this myself.
Совершенно ложное впечатление, что сшить такое платье легко. Оно выглядит лёгким в руках хорошо умеющего шить. Работа с кроем по косой (тем более, с тканью в клетку, требующую подонки рисунка) на самом деле очень непроста.
Я тоже об этом подумала, а потом люди как раз таки приходят и говорят - да тут делать нечего!
Вполне с вами согласна. Сначала сами сошьют, а потом идут к нам, что бы переделали😂

Always press your seams after sewing. At each stage you press your seams before moving on to the next stage.

Thanks for the lovely idea, but please, the sewer needs to point out that this was cut on a bias and many other tips that viewers had to share instead of the uploader.this video was imo incomplete and could definitely be redone with captions and essential sewing tips.❤

Прежде чем показывать, как шить надо у ткани сделать декатировку ( усадку), отутюжить , обрезать кромки и потом только начинать кроить. Я хоть и не портниха , но вижу недочёты такого шитья.Надо всё показывать правильно, а не тяп - ляп.
Да здесь куча недочётов!Изделие по косой,шьют полностью,оставляя не обработанные низ.Затем ему необходимо повисеть на вешалке некоторое время!Толькопотом выравнивать и обрабатывать низ изделия иначе он будет не ровным!

I love your methods. I always make felled seams if I can. Makes the garment sturdier and hold its shape better. I think I'd have to use a bedsheet to get enough pattern pieces though. This dress has a lot of fabric in it.
Bedsheets are awesome for swingy dresses! You can usually find some good cotton sheets at charity shops. Add a bottle of dye to make it your custom fabric.

Résultat final joli mais explications couture très très approximatives, surtout si on n'a jamais rien cousu. Dans le cas de cette robe il serait aussi important de savoir à quel tour de poitrine correspondent les tailles donnés dans la video.

This style will fit a woman around 5'3. Not for anyone taller. In order for this dress to look nice, it should be ankle length.
Also, the lighter the material - the better the dress will turn out.
I bought 4 yards, and the triangle length only came out to 45 inches (to make the circle). I needed minimum 55 inches. I had to make another style dress.

Платье получается красивым, но...у вас по бокам не будет хватать длины для равномерного низа , то есть, по бокам будут уходить вверх и низ будет не идеальным. Этот фасон хорош для женщин или девочек не выше 155 см. Подол платья лучше обрабатывать на оверлоке роликовым швом.
Платье интересное. Важно было посмотреть, как сидит платье в области плеч, шеи, а вы так вертитесь, еще волосы закрывают....
