I know if I've not used a language much recently then I'll maybe be able to understand what someone else is saying but if I want to say anything myself then I'll need a minute.
Think of it like forgetting a word you don't use much in English. You know what it means, if someone else says it you'll remember, but you may need a moment to remember if you haven't seen or heard it recently.
@@yraco1232 true but katya never truly claims to know any other language then english, he went to school for french but didnt use it enough to retain most of it like most students. his pronunciation is impeccable though for sure, im just surprised honestly that trixie was speaking it well too

True story: I wanted to comprehend completely what Katya and Trixie said on the show so I worked hard on my listening/understanding of the English language enough to hear it and understand it just as I do on my first one (Portuguese). UNHhhh is truly educational, everyone.

I find with Spanish and other languages people are so impressed and happy that you attempted to learn their language. In Paris people will look you dead in the face and respond in English 😂
That's because the service industry in Paris is used to dealing with english-speaking tourists. In other parts of France you're way more likely to get an enthusiastic response and compliments.

French people LOVE showing off their English. Despite me being fluent in French, when they hesr my accent they will insist on speaking their busted broken English. Once even my doctor just kept repeating “Attention! Diabetes” despite me begging “svp je ne comprend pas, est-ce que j’ai le diabète ou pas!?”
I think it depends on the scenario. I lived in rural Spain and the people there loved when I tried to speak Spanish but in Barcelona or Madrid, they just can’t be bothered and they have no time.

Christianity is supposed to be based on love. Jesus loved everyone equally, no matter how big of a "sinner" they were. Jesus treated prostitutes, gamblers, etc. the same as he treated all his followers.

I tried to flex with little French that i know in a bookstore. And a French woman looked at me with such disappointment in her eyes and said “oh you’re speaking Canadian French?” and i’ve never spoken French since.
We also know if you come to Portugal and speak Brazilian Portuguese. They're wildly different.
