I know that technically , the girl he's talking about has a boyfriend and he's basically explaining about how she cheats on her boyfriend with him -but it's so much more than that . He has fallen in love with someone who is only looking for sex , and perhaps that is the worst thing of all -being in love with someone who isn't mentally ready to accept the love you're trying to give them . And even as he says “we might as well just fuck” as he says “fuck” it just sounds like he's exhausted from just fucking instead of making love with the girl he loves . I don't know , this song just takes me to another place . I love The 1975 so so much .

I love the rawness in Matty's voice. It just makes his performances feel so real. I hate that people give him flak for "not being able to sing live." Sure there are some performances where his vocals are off but to say he can't sing live is just silly. Artists don't have to be perfect as long as they're honest, and Matty is honest in his work. I can see and feel how much passion he has for his music when he talks about it and performs.

honestly i hate how people are treating the 1975 like a boyband destined to 12 year old girls, i've known them for about 7 months now, but even tho is quite recent, back then, there wasn't all these fangirls crying over them, and wanting to marry matty and etc. nowadays people are not becoming fans because of the music, but because of the image, the appearance, it's all about liking these indie rock/hipster bands, and omg, this pisses me off so much. You should appreciate the songs, pay attention to the lyrics and realize how deep and soulful they are. I've known The 1975 for a little bit over a year now, so quite like you I am a recent fan but I've always loved this genre of music & when I found The 1975 I fell in love with the fact that their music does not fit into just one "indie" genre, I honestly think it can be defined in so many ways, in fact its so enticing that it is not definable. Also I love how meaningful and deep the lyrics are, just as you do! And lastly, what really made me fall in love with this band was Matty. Not his clothes, hair, looks or whatever it is that these 12 years "love so much about Matty" but it is the fact of how wellspoken he is, the words he uses to expresses himself, when he talks I'm just mesmerized by his use of words and how much the songs actually mean to him, George, Adam and Ross. Like listening to the way he talks about the band and the songs is just amazing! In one interview I watched he described the band as having "a stark stylistic polarity" and I totally agree!

I love it when they do acoustic versions of songs like these cause you can feel your heart hurting and any other strong emotion on such a deep level. You can feel the holding back and hurt of falling in love with someone who only wants sex when its like he's reminding himself "she's got a boyfriend anyway" to try to distract himself from the fact he's falling in love with her. After personal experiences of being in situations with people who only wanted sex and starting to catch feelings for that person this song could make me feel the hurt of knowing they really don't care about you and it will never be intimate like you want it to be when it comes to someone you love. There's just no words to perfectly describe the way this song makes me feel. It music that truly moves me.

What draws me in is their style and the way they incorporate their feelings deeply in the song and stay down to earth and just then. And anyways age has nothing to do with what you like, as its been said before age is just a number. I'm a far cry from being 12 and I've loved this band's songs for a long time. It's always so meaningful, relatable, and performed with great emotions. There is just the right amount of instrumental to the lyrics so it isn't overwhelming. I listened to the words and drifted off a few times too..

My song for Ana. I can totally relate to this feeling. As I was trying to recoup from a breakup with a girl of 1.5 years, there she was, with a boyfriend half a world away. Underestimated this band so much! First song I ever listened to was chocolate (original not acoustic) and when searching the song on here I discovered the acoustic a few months back and have been obsessed with every song since, at first I thought it was just one of those bands who have a song once in the charts and you'll never hear from again but I cannot get enough of these, every song is so unreal!
