As a retired CPA CA ACMA CGMA, I would like to enlighten young intending accountants the decision criterion as follows: A. In public practice I. If you desire to be an auditor or a taxation practitioner, aspiring to become a partner in the end. Then you may opt for CPA/CA/ACCA 2. If you desire to be a management consultant, aspiring to become a director of management consulting. Then opt for ACMA. These are the usual practices to be adopted by Big 4 in UK in selecting new candidates. B. In commerce and industry, you may start in management accounting (CIMA) or in financial accounting (CA/ACCA), aspiring to be a Financial Controller/Chief Finance Officer C. However, the global accountancy arena has evolved and changed, if you aspire be a global conglomerate corporation CEO/CFO/director in the end, then opt for the CGMA (chartered global management accountant) either via AICPA of USA or CIMA of UK, in consideration of there being more than 500,000 American qualified certified public accountants and British qualified chartered management accountants standing behind across the globe, whilst dominating the global fortune 500 conglomerates.
Aoa brother first of all I am impressed to see someone this much educated from Sri Lanka Love from Pakistan ❤️ I am 16 years old and want to manage a business like a CEO CFO or my own business What should I proceed ACCA or cima After 10 class ????
Thank you Armani. For your query, with my understanding of the Pakistan Market, I would suggest you start either ACCA or CIMA (ACCA seems more popular in Pakistan) after you finsh 10th Standard. but you have to work hard and finish it as soon as possible. By the time you get out of College if you can at-least be part qualified with ACCA, you can start a degree specializing in some area you like. Then finish ACCA and try to find a good entry level job in a good reputed company. With that you can get a great start to your career, early. This is just a rough layout for you, but you have to work hard and be committed without never giving up. All the best!

If you have never had any formal Business Education, then doing CIMA can actually help you. It has many things that can be important to running a business, but it also helps you understand other people's thinking. But if you already have learnt Business Management, then doing CIMA is unnecessary just for the sake of it. Then you should focus on your Business. All the very best to you!

I am currently in UAE seeking a job in the banking industry and I see that there are opportunities for CIMA and ACCA members in the accounting field for much better jobs. I am thinking to start CIMA or ACCA. I don't know what to choose. Can u help me out?
CIMA or ACCA are not degrees Astha, they are Professional Qualifications. whether to start a business or not, having a good education is always helpful. So if you want, you can do a good degree from a university. Other than that you can consider CIMA or ACCA, for a Business background, I would recommend CIMA for you.
I want study computational finance, which would be more beneficial for me to start CIMA or ACCA? And to ACCA do any requirements needed something like 16+ age and anything else?
Hi Hamziya, If your goal is to work within the Corporate Finance field, then I would recommend ACCA. You can start ACCA with a basic education like Plus2/GCE O/L etc.
To work as a financial accountant and specialise in accountancy, ACCA is the better qualification. But if you can, don't only do ACCA, try to do a degree in Banking and Financing as well, that will increase your chances of getting a good job.
@@AzmanBranudeen So I have decided not to pursue any bachelor's degree and do CIMA. Would there be any problem for jobs ?? Sir please reply so that I can start with further studies! I am damn confused
Competitively, especially in India, most people are getting a Degree Ishaan, so if you can I would always suggest Degree + CIMA. Anyway with partial CIMA, some universities offer degree intakes. And there are other universities where while doing the degree, you can enter CIMA somewhere in the mid level and finish with a few exams. You have to decide based on what you can afford.
Not exactly. ACCA does though in some countries. For more info please check this link. www.cimaglobal.com/Members/member-network/Members-in-Practice/MiP-Resources/Signing-off-Accounts/
Sir am okay with doing cima. Basically I have thirst for number crunch and financial management statistics cost accounting are area of interest. So is cima right qualification? I maybe wrong but I heard couple of videos that says cima may cost over 10;000 pounds. Is it correct? How about CMA usa qualification? What's your opinion about it? My long term career plan if I can tell you frankly is to develop good knowledge in cost accounting financial management statistics and either do independent research on it or start own big business and become a finance manager of it.can CMA usa +ifrs diploma from acca Help? I understand that to do independent research and invent new concepts topics that can add value to society or start own business venture formal business or finance qualification is not necessary but for me self esteem is associated with having professional qualification.
Ultimately the qualification should add value to you. So whatever qualification you do, if you use it positively to add value to yourself, then it will benefit you, even if you become an entrepreneur. Do not think that to be an entrepreneur you don't need education. good education is a strength anytime. Your aspirations are great, and so choose a qualification wisely, and pursue it to the end. @@AzmanBranudeen .Thanks sir.now that CMA usa qualification has started giving options for students to write exam from home I prefer to do cma usa qualification.hope the institute wont eliminate this option any time especially this year or next year or even year after that, given that global pendemic situations is still uncertain and world government hasn't found more efficient ways than lockdown to contain the spread of virus. As you know it's an ideal qualification for those who wish to switch their career, not eligible for us cpa and wont have years of time to spend on qualification like acca cima or chartered Accountancy. I maynot prepare financial statements but analyze them and make important financial decisions. Instead of buying the building or land thinking of leasing the same ,buy the ownership of that particular hotel and running the business the way it has been . Hello Sudip, As long as you don't mess up your college studies and can continue to do your best, then doing both that and CIMA/ACCA is fine. But if not, then better wait first to finish college and then start CIMA/ACCA. If you are a hard worker, go for it. Good Luck! :)

Thanks alot for explaining this, I was wondering why employers in my country frowns upon CIMA, they treat it as if CIMA is lower class of studies.
