I currently have athletes foot I've had it for 10 years on and off, and just dealt with it but I'm tired of this already so I'm gonna try this. One thing I can speak of is I had jock itch for 5 years on and off, I finally used Lotrimin ultra jock itch, I used it for a week and didn't notice any improvement so I lost faith in it and stopped using it, one week later I noticed that I didn't have the itch anymore and it was gone and hasn't returned since. So Lotrimin did cure my jock itch hopefully it'll work for athletes foot.
Update: It did cure athletes foot, great product.
Hi how long did your atheletes foot healed after applying lotrimin ?
It works but you got to keep it on
personally I did it before summer. Had a clean foot but as I played sports and went to the beach. My toes were wet for long periods of times and my shoes can only be washed so many times where I live. It came back so I would say it’s a cycle that you will have to live with. I had healthy skin for 3 months but mid August once I started to go to school and wear shoes for 8+ hours it was inevitable
@@LordAnt611 It's definitely possible if you want to put in the work! I have a compromised immune system so when living in humid Florida, I was having the issue of constant reoccurrence. I was eventually successful at finally beating it... Just took effort. I bought multiple pairs of shoes to rotate through. I washed them often. I sprayed this disinfectant stuff in my shoes every other day. I kept large silica bags inside them when not being worn. Also bought some open toed shoes. Sprayed them with rubbing alcohol once a week. I washed my feet every day with soap while showering, including between all toes. Sprayed them with rubbing alcohol whenever they felt swampy. I bought a bunch of thin, breathable socks. Made sure they were white so I could wash them with bleach added.
On Point Post Doc ! i have been using powder sprays for a while, i believe they do work somewhat but we need to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ! i have the cream and will follow the directions to a permanent solution. This way when i shower i am not contributing to the problem ! or is that a myth !!!? ? ?
With the cream, best wear socks after applying, but no cotton socks?
The Gold Bond Foot Powder eliminated athletes foot that spread to other places like the crotch area. It was a life saver for me!
Thank you for this information! My mother in law had the spray and I used it. But like you mentioned, it’s hard to pinpoint if you actually got the area. I’m going to get the cream and use that instead. Thank you!
Thanks for your comment!
I have the spray and it's actually a bit hard to target the area and you have to use plenty and that gets the spraying all over the place. I recommend using the cream instead as you can rub it in and you're all set.
Very informative, thank you!
Thanks for your comment.

I have athlete foot in my feets .l have them around 8 years ago. Can this will effective in this situation???
I hurt my foot 🦶 when walking today since I walked 3.3 miles in sandals 🩴 and it rubbed hard on my feet 👣. I hope I didn’t catch athethes foot.
Thank you so much for sharing. A year ago I had a pedicure that turned into very itchy peeling cracked skin that I just kind of ignored.. until my baby toe nail fell off. I went to the doctor and she said I had fungus. I was given the option of a pill to take that may be hard on my liver or she recommended some home remedies. I've been trying home remedies for quite some time with no success. The fungus has begun to spread to 3 more toes.. I'm really hoping this can help me. I purchased the AF but will no try and find Ultra.
Alison: Lotrimin AF drug fact sheet states that the product is not effective on nails. The Lotrimin Ultra product drug fact sheet is very clear that it is not recommended that you use the Ultra product on the nails. These medications are for athlete's foot of the skin. As far as I am aware there are no products available, neither over the counter nor prescription, that are approved by the FDA for toenail fungus. Discuss this further with your own podiatrist. Edit: (I am editing my comment as I may have read your comment wrong - if you are using the product because your toenail fell off and it has now affected three other toenails and you are trying to address possible toenail fungus then my above comment still is valid. However if the athletes foot has affected the skin on the other three toes then my above comment does not apply and yes I do hope that the Lotrimin Ultra is the fix.) Thank you for your comment.

Great video! Will try this but I also have one question, while doing this can I still continue working out?
If you are worried about perspiration - I am not aware of any contraindications to working out.
Can you kindly advise me if cream with butenafine, and cream with clotrimazole have any differences in efficacy of treating tinea cruris over a period of a few weeks? Butenafine has cost quite a lot over the past couple weeks that I could save by buying clotrimazole, but would it be as effective as butenafine has been in curing tinea cruris?
Thank you so much for your helpful videos and hopefully a helpful response!!
Unfortunately I cannot advise you on that. Call your family doc/dermatologist and your local pharmacist - they are your best bet.
Try the spray first, and if that does not help, see your PCP.
Okay I’m not 100% sure if I have athlete’s foot but like when I am done taking a shower and dry my feet there is peeling skin on my sole and in between my toes. I’m not sure if that’s it or something else. I’m 14 which makes it weirder.
Same thing with me, my feet used to smell but I started using Lotrimin powder spray and it seems to be helping as the odor is no longer of corn chips mixed with Doritos and Chex mix. My spray is almost out so I might have to use the cream instead because this spray can actually get all over the place. Forgot to say that it's only my left foot, and you do have a fungus infection.
I had issue with fungus between the toes that i could not keep gone with foot cream. Podiatrist put me on oral lamisil for 2 months. Cleared everything up. Been off of that for maybe a month. Noticed fungus between 2 toes last night. Started cream again. Do I start over again with creams or should I go straight back to doctor for more oral medication?
Definitely go back to the doctor and explain what happened.
Just use both
Does this help with the bottom of the foot? I don’t need it so much in between my toes, as much as I need it around the phalanges, heel, metatarsals, arch, etc. It’s all around my foot
It could. From what I learned, it was tested for athletes foot around the toes and that is why the directions say to use it there.
What about jock itch? Is it still good to use Lotrimin Ultra?
Yes
How long after applying the ultra version can I put on socks?
As long as the cream is rubbed in real well I don't see why the socks cannot be put on right afterwards.
If your skin has split between two toes, would you put cream directly on the split?
I would not use cream directly on the split. However, you must heal the split between the toes. When your shoes are on use a toe spacer or lambs wool to keep the toes from rubbing together. Be careful because you can get a bacterial infection from the split skin. Ask your doctor if it is okay for you to use betadine solution on it - pending any allergies you might have. Ask them for directions.
@@frugalfoot4973 Alright, will do. Thank you!
Thanks for the info, I have been treating mine for a long while and still not going. Now I know longer feel convenient wearing shoe. I just hope it can just leave me for good!
Also it is important to wash and dry one's feet very well - especially between the toes. Avoid wet socks and shoes. Follow the directions on the anti fungal product exactly as instructed. If you do not see relief then consider seeking the opinion of a dermatologist. Thanks for your comment.
@Seyi Mobee I want athlete's feet. I would be more than willing to trade feet with you

Hi Doc, would you say it’s ok to use the Lotrimin that is labeled for feet for also Jock itch? Or should I buy the one labeled for Jock Itch to treat Jock Itch?
Erik: You have to talk to your own doctor about that. I can't give you personal advice.
Hi Doc, i have the same problem, if you share your mail id, I will send you the pics of my feet please help me.
Hey doc. I have cracks between my 4th and 5th toes but i have no rash or vicious itching, I just noticed this today. I have been moisturizing my feet since Ive been having a burning and tingling sensation on the toes and balls of my feet for 2 months and now this shows up. I did use clotrimazole for 3 weeks in the beginning 3 x a day and i still feel the same sensations so I thought I ruled out athletes foot but now I have these cracks. What might these circumstances be?
I would get the burning and tingling sensation checked out by your doctor. That doesn't sound like athletes foot but rather a nerve issues. As for the cracks between the toes - it could be from using the cream/lotion on your feet. Most likely two separate issues. Call your local podiatrist - they can give you advice on both or you can start with your family doctor.
@@frugalfoot4973 what should I apply on the cracks if it’s from the lotion?
The thing is, do you have to clean the area in particular?
Always best to wash and dry the affected area first.
Mines on top does the cream mention the top of feet
Athletes foot cream can be used on the top of the feet.
What sock brand do you recommend?
I love my Smartwools and my Darn Tough socks.
Maybe try Nike socks or Adidas.
How long is it contagious?
If you are treating it successfully, figure two to four weeks.
I have a question, I have athletes foot but just the the cracking in between the toes but nothing else like itching or kinda burning is it still atheles foot if theres little cuts
Not necessarily. If it doesn't go away with the athletes foot med then have your doctor take a look. Make sure you follow the directions on the label. Keeping the toes separated a little with a small bit of cotton (from a cotton ball) during the day when the shoes are on can help alleviate standing moisture between the toes.
@@frugalfoot4973 Thanks also one more question when putting the cream how long should I wait till I put another dose of it
I just got it on the side of my foot and hands... can I use the creams and hope that it will go away and if it doesn’t to call my doctor?
Sounds like a good plan.
Can we use it for ring worm
Yes. labeling.bayercare.com/omr/online/DF_Lotrimin_Ultra_AF_Cream.pdf
I get blisters, and they spread, very well, and bad itchy, it can end up both my hands and feet, for year's i had it on, one foot, it managed to only have it, on my left foot, but never could get rid of it, eventually got my other foot, it got so bad on my left foot, i had it all over the bottom of the left foot, so difficult to walk, this went on for year's, evan with using creams, finally got rid of it, and it was gone a year, and I have it back again, i have been suffering from menopause, i get freakquant heat bursts, and sweet alot, and my hands and feet get very hot, this tinea pedis loves it, i have to put alot of miconazole cream on, and then sticky plaster up the whole area's, two months ago I started having this latest outbrake of it, so this is, two months now, now do i get rid of it??????
Pompholyx?
Epsom salt soaks.
Followed by cream to seal in the hydration.
Low nickel diet.
Steroid cream as needed (sparingly; never more than a few days in a row)
What do you think about this product being used between the toes if the skin is broken? yes, blood after dead skin removed and a touch of blood.
The drug fact sheet from Lotrimin AF or Lotrimin Ultra does not reveal broken skin as a contraindication for its use. In fact it is recommended for cracked skin. They also do recommend that you wash and dry between the toes before using the product. You may wish to put a toe spacer or piece of cotton or lambs wool between the toes to help keep the digits apart. This will help to dry the area out.

Hi doc can this be applied in the hands and legs for ringworm
There are studies that have shown that both clotrimazole and tolnaftate can be effective against ringworm.
I work ten hour shifts and i can't just avoid having sweat in my boots I've had the fungus for like six years now 😟
Dannng yo go to a specific specialist for feet

I have athletes foot on both feet and im in boots all day, if i start using the cream should i get new boots aswell? Will continuing to wear those boots or other shoes that ive been using counteract the cream?
Disinfecting boots and socks is very important. I know of some people who had cases so tough that they did have to discard their socks and shoes. If your boots are old and ready to replace then it might be a smart thing to do.

You said “if it really is athletes foot”. What other issues are like this if it’s not athletes foot?
There are many dermatological problems that mimic athletes foot; eczema, dermatitis and hyperkeratosis just to name a few.
My skin is white between my pinky toe would I need tht cream
That is a very good question. That is worth having checked out by a podiatrist because it might not be athletes foot. It could macerated skin caused by the fourth and fifth toes rubbing. If you put the cream in there unnecessarily you could make it worse.
itching it feels so good im not sure I wanna cure it

There's a fungus among us.
If I have athletes foot do I need to have a carpet cleaning service disinfect the carpets in my home once I have it cured? I understand the fungus can shed and live in the carpet and re-infect you. Is this something that is common or is it pretty rare for it to survive in a bedroom carpet?
Yes you might have to do that. Get a professional cleaner to do the job so they get the spores.
