Just because it’s necessary to ensure emergency systems are work smoothly, still doesn’t negate how annoying it can be at times
I don't get why we have to hear it for them to do that. What metric are they recording with that? I mean, how would they even know?
I mean you could mute or adjust your TV when they tested the EBS on TV but you can't mute your phone for these tests and ignores volume levels.

Scared the heck out of me in reality. When I was very young and still watching TV at the time, I heard that sound in the EAS except not separated in tones.
It's nearly every kid's worst nightmare when it comes to watching TV

It is definitely annoying. It happened during a phone call earlier today, and because both ends were getting the alert at the same time, it got ridiculous.

I was warned ahead of time and was asleep from a nap, so I guess this is what it must've been like for everyone else.
A few months ago, my phone got that alarm! It's REALLY annoying and even at lower volume it sounds loud! And it gives me a sheer heart attack!
The sound is pretty annoying tbh, and it's scary on TV.
Also, the Rabbids seems to have a good time😅
Annoying? yes, but its effective in waking you up.
How surprising, an alarm sound is something you want to get away from. Almost like it's telling you something.

I remember when they did this on TV instead. and you could turn down the TV volume but muting your phone is not an option.

I heard it the same day you uploaded this video and it scared the crap outta me!
Right before this happened, I turned all my electronics off, I put my phone on air plane mode, turned it off, and I never got the message.
I was unfazed when the EAS went off in my phone.
yeah it is annoying but hey at least it saved Engineer's life
Funny, that alarm went off in my area earlier today, and it was only a test.
Agreed the damn weather report on my phone makes it whenever there’s the stupid test they use on it and when it’s stormy it got old after the first one too

Whenever there is a test i should bring hundreds of phones to school and play them on the intercom to freak out everyone
I've never had these alarms in ANY of my devices before.
Funny thing is you can actually turn that off in your phone's notifications settings under the advance settings.
I've dealt with this sound so much, I had to adapt to it. (sounds like a test alarm from a TV)

Never really heard that noise. There’s something similar in my area, but it’s not that bothering
I wish the sound was different ever since i was a kid i was always afraid of it. It always makes me cry even up to this day i heard it in the dark once outside of my parents bedroom and it went off in the middle of the night sometimes when i couldn't sleep i would sit right outside they're doorway until that one night it happened and i was scared so i went back to bed and ever since that day i'm still afraid of it. I wish they would change it 😢

And all that was just merely for a test. It's even louder on the television. By all means, it'll be great for when use during an actual emergency, but makes you wish they don't test it so many times.

Reminds me of one time where the fire alarm went off and no one went outside because they thought it was yet another false alarm. Fire was small but at least it was actually something instead of nothing!
