@SILVER PRO wdym 1% lows? Ye it's good man there is an issue witht the command centre in that when I pull up the bit to change the rgb it's just a grey box. The battery life is actually good when it comes to using it for studying and stuff. Just by using chrome and viewing pdfs I think it lasted me 3.5-4 hours which is rlly good considering my old dell inspiron 17 lasted an hour max and it wasn't even a gaming laptop.

Now that u mention it, it is pretty dark but u won't notice it in a nicely lit room and even better in the dark. About ryzen idk because there wasn't a ryzen option when i ordered it got the i9 13900hx. And I got the 4070 because its a 40 series laptop.
Another thing if you haven't had any other high spec laptops with way brighter displays like mini LEDs which I haven't you won't notice it being dark. I also usually don't keep my displays on full brightness so it doesn't affect me

my current alienware laptop has 3 significant flaws. first, it overheats. cpu reaches 95c on normal gaming and 85c on web surfing. second, battery life is extremely short. only 2 hours on web browsing and 1 hour on gaming. finally screen quality is bad. only 290 nits and causes lots of eye strains and tears. i thought they are only problems for specific models but after i read online forums, i knew they are wide spread issues of alienware laptops

Likely legitimately had something to do with how he set up the machine…or didn’t rather. I had to adjust some things myself to bump up the numbers. Def needs tweaking out of box. Balance is best.
X16 has more flash like the RGB track pad but you're also stuck with soldered ram and so buy what you need and hope those sticks never fail. The M series can run a bit cooler plus a bigger screen. Really depends on your needs though. M18 is good if you don't plan on traveling much and want a lot of expansion options. Otherwise get something a bit smaller.

It was pretty freaking amazing, but ultimately the quality of the screen was a dealbreaker for me. Going to try again next version. This M18 with 13900hx 4090 or Scar 18? I noticed that the Scar puts out more wattage of the cpu. @@rustyharden2716 that's not the argument here. Many people do love bright displays while being inside. Also the machines are freaking heavy at 3.35kg for m16 and 4kg for m16. The scar 16 is like 2.5 kg. I am a big fan of Alienware however this gen is lame.

Great question. I did not check, but often times its directly to the GPU. Occasionally routed through CPU. Pretty sure the HDMI and Mini Display ports will always be direct connected to Nvidia GPU though, so you can always definitely use those for direct connect high performance display outputs.
I got the msi ge78hx and I agree with what you said entirely. The panel is very meh. Lack of advanced optimus is also a let down. Price is a bit higher compared to the other 4090 laptops. Overall though, very happy with it and with your undervolting guide it rarely goes over 80c on the CPU now. Which before it was sitting around 85c in Warthunder and 95c in destiny 2.

Bought the rog atrix scar 16 with a 4090, stock got 19,000 in timespy, the I did a -30 under volt and it got 9,000 score, like half, not sure why I did wrong

Got 31023 score in Cinebench after disabling optimus their software is strange but this M18 is a powerful beast hopefully Dell will get their software and settings tweaked also ran in custom mode setting on auto as my alienware software the -50 undervolt is inop but some others its working using the F1 and running the cinebench test is how I achieved it getting vid scores of 18750 in firestrike for the rtx 4080 just thought to give what my rig is doing guess will keep it

As a long time owner of AW, they just cannot get things right. They start off on paper with a fantastic system, then through their antiquated processes and shitty software they undermine the system. Expect the shadow gimping over time of your system too with BIOS updates that cut performance but seem to never really help the thermals, etc. Honestly, the X-series seems in this generation to be the better option.
Dell never learn I got a g7 first gen and is still using and the software and driver is pretty bad its was cheaper than other brand at that time for the same spec And now they still have not improve the software experience

How can you even say the razer blade 18 is good... it has a 720p webcam... that is disgusting and disrespectful. You're spending over $2,500 and they're going to slap you in the face with a 720p webcam... doesn't matter if its the least of worries. In no way should it be less than 1080p webcam.

I was able to get 4090 m18 with everything maxed for 3,050 compared to scar is 3,699 with the same specs
290 nits is an embarrassment for a panel. The Nintendo switch gets brighter. So happy I went with the GT77 with the mini led display

Is the AMD Ryzen 9 a good choice for this laptop? I heard AMD thermals do not run as high as Intel i9.

So the msi raider is better than the alienware?
Yeah, I'd recommend the GE78HX over the alienware because the MSI software is much better. Also, the MSI did not mess up the CPU paste job.

WOW, terrible CPU performance. And an 18". And 6500 AUD here. What were Alienware thinking (13980HX/4090 model, which can only be worse)!
you can get it price matched to a same spec legion, which is around 4500 AUD after you talk to a Lenovo rep. Just a little lifehack that saves about $2000 ;)

happy i chose a 7900xtx + 7800x3D cpu , 2tb 990 ssd, 32gb gskill flare 5 cl30 6000mhz ram, custom case, fans, 1000w psu, all for 200$ less**** than this garbage laptop 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 😂 i was so close to just buying a laptop but....i read they stutter/throttle/bad bios etc. and id rather have a rig for 7years than a laptop for 3
Why would u oc ur laptop? If u want to OC u get a desktop with a LC cooler. Laptop OC is one way to trash ur laptop within 3-6 month. Even though it is a gaming laptop just game it as it is. U cangi high to ultra setting but OC? That is just silly.
How can you even say the razer blade 18 is good... it has a 720p webcam... that is disgusting and disrespectful. You're spending over $2,500 and they're going to slap you in the face with a 720p webcam... doesn't matter if its the least of worries. In no way should it be less than 1080p webcam.
