    Great vid, I wish I found it 12 months ago, as my thousand litre tank did leak, by the time I got home three quarters was on the floor, so I lost all my coral and most fish, we tried to fix it 3 or 4 times even got a glazier in, he tried twice, long story short it turned out to be the stand, which eroded away,

  • @mikeym7609
    @mikeym7609 Рік тому

    Maybe you should put a disclaimer on this. “Don’t try this at home folks”🤣
    I am sorry I know you can use some sealants underwater but most sealant need at least a clean service to make it last. You don’t get that by wiping a bit of sand out of the way.
    I keep my fingers crossed for you mate that this will last a long time.

    This is one of the hobbies worst nightmares. Here in the US brs sells a product called, Orca Underwater Glue by Aquarium Munster. I'm pretty sure it's German made so it might be available down under. It's definitely not great for out of water use. But I've seen great success with underwater for leaks and seals in an emergency. But these are great tips gallery!

    • @GalleryAquaticaTV
      @GalleryAquaticaTV 3 місяці тому +1

      If it’s up to 24 inches high it is normally 10mm (just over 3/8 inch). However this is assuming it is well braced. If it’s rimless you usually need to go almost double that. Cam

      @@GalleryAquaticaTV to be fair the oils released from regular window silicone isn't that toxic to aquatic life (from memory) and with a protein skimmer running in conjunction with fresh carbon I doubt anything would happen. The real issue is anti microbial agents added to some silicones to prevent mould etc in people's homes. However, if they are present this is always stated on the package.
      Happy reefing!

    longest explanation on earth about some air bubbles being an obvious sign of premature failure. Loved the part where he explains how water will flow out of the failed area and onto the floor. Very informative. I had no idea water will actually leak out of a failed area and onto the floor especially in a rushing fashion.

  • @kickassclone75
    @kickassclone75 Рік тому

    if the seamsarent clear you got issues its as simple as that. Most people havent a clue and even when they see an obvious change they dont stop to ask why that change ocurred. I didnt bother to watch the video because I already know this. Thats how I buy aquariums for pennies a gallon ans resell them for multiple dollars a gallon after I rreseam and reseal them.
