I was literally thinking the exact same thing when I saw this! I love Eda’s reaction to Luz wanting to ask out Amity, and she’s not even upset with Luz because Amity is in fact a girl, and seeing Eda happy and supportive of Luz makes me even happier! I think that I have probably watched this entire episode….I want to say…5 times now?

Brilliant LGBT+ representation aside, can we just appreciate the most realistic representation of a developing romantic relationship in any kind of media so far. Most relationships I've seen, even on the best movies or shows, fall into one of 2 categories: the people involved are basically predestined to end up together due to circumstances, selective introduction or forced writing, with the usual useless will-they-won't-they arcs that nobody falls for (ex: AtlA with Aang and Katara, B99 with Jake and Amy, any MCU movie that has the tiniest trace of a romantic subplot) or one of the characters goes to increasingly ludicrous shenanigans to eventually win over/ wear down their love interest (ex: TBBT with Leonard and Penny, Literally any Disney Channel show from the 2000's). None of that happens to people in real life who have feelings for each other. You know what does happen? Awkward silences, vague gestures, questioning EVERYTHING you say or do, before, after and while you're doing or saying it.
For all of that alone, The Owl House owns a place in the media hall of fame and my heart for ever !!!

Absolutely. I saw a video a while back talking about how the narrator of the video was concerned that it was going to be a sort of queerbaiting situation with the whole "Will they, won't they?" Kinda thing, so I was really happy Dana didn't do that. And it's around the middle of S2 so even if we aren't able to persuade Disney to give a S4, we'll probably be getting around 11 more episodes where they're a thing (If they have the same amount of episodes as S1), plus the 3 long episodes in S3

the last second of your vid is Hooty saying- "their adorable!" sums up the event with Lumity baby!! this whole house is a legit family with family situations the whole time!!! Hooty acting like a dad trying to help with disasters and ends quite well, Eda acting like a mom the whole entire time, Luz being the optimistic awkward daughter, King being the pet/child like creature to Luz. Then they added Amity and it's just fantastic! totally "normal" family.

One of the two best same sex couples in animation. The other being from an older show called "Mission Hill." Gus and Wally were a gay couple back when there was still a lot of stigma and judgement with it. And they were depicted with *none* of the stereotypes associated with gay men. They were even written well enough that they didn't need to be together to work. They each were a complete enough character to function on their own. You barely ever see writing that good now.
