Yes, indeed. His father is Hans Stuck, Auto Union driver from 1934, the start of the Auto Union team, up until the war's outbreak. His famous teammates were Bernd Rosemeyer, and of course, the legendary Tazio Nuvolari, who replaced Rosemeyer after the latter's death in an accident at a speed record attempt in 1938. Hans Stuck meanwhile, while also a fast driver is most remembered for making a lot of hillclimb records with those Auto Unions, one of the most famous names in hillclimb history, in fact. Another trivia; the car in the video IS a hillclimb spec car. You can see that by the twin rear wheels, fitted to get more grip out of the hairpin bends, and maximising the use of the mid-engined layout. Also, the Mercedes-Benz W125 with the no. 2 on it (that can be seen on your video) IS another hillclimb car, basically the main antagonist of this mid-engined beast. You can tell that as well because that W125 had a smaller tail than the one Mercedes-Benz owns, probably to save weight since hillclimbing doesn't need as much fuel as a major GP race.
there is something brutal and menacing about this car, it looked so much different than it's contemporary competition. It sounds like such a brute, Stuck wants to open her up so bad. too bad this track is essentially just a driveway
It's a great thing; the fact that there were no wide tires at the time forced them to twin the rear wheels-another little piece of automotive history 😉👍
Sorry but The bf 109 had damlier Benz DB 603 /605 Aero engines V 12 with 39.5L/43L with 900ps to 1700ps power, quite different in any way, even the sound is very different.

Like many dictatorships, popular public figures either deal with the leader or they disappear... period. Hitler didn't invent that trend and it didn't end with his demise. As even today, many of these athletes are better served sticking with what they're best at. Leave the "politicking" to the politicians! I haven't heard of any records of that period. I do know that his son inherited many of his excellent driving skills.
@rogeeeferrari - Dude, this is a scratch built replica made from the original drawings. I wouldn't even want to guess how incredibly expensive this was to create! That said, you don't go out and beat the crap out of a vehicle like this for obvious reasons. He isn't driving it to impress as much as he is to display.
The grand-daddy of today's Audi race cars. German pre-war cars looked beautiful and brutal at the same time. Thanks for the video. Great sound!
You're right, thank you 😉👍
Great to see Mr. Stuck still driving race cars. Makes me happy. 👍
From what I saw He's still in good health and driving great😉👍
His father is the Auto Union works driver in the 30s! Drove those very cars!
Really? Thank you for the info 👍

Thank you, so interesting things 👍
Can't believe people used to race these cars sound awesome
Every time he drives this car, he said it gets better and better as it's being run in
It's always wonderful to see him behind the wheel of this mechanical marvel 👍
impressive specs even now!

Love the car, love the video !
Thank you 😉👍
Blue helmet with stars Hans J Stuck, yellow helmet with red/black stripes Frank Biela.
😉👍
Amazing car!
Oh yes 😉👍
I love the tire shreding power that requires that the car run dual tires on the rear

AND TODAY...IT IS CALLED....AUDI..💯💯💯😍👏👏🤗🥰
70 years old and no smoke.
It's like a Bf 109 , minus the wings and the engine placed behind the driver .
Surely this 30s car is inspired by airplane shape 👍

Actually the Mercedes t80 had that engine
That's how the Germans did aerodynamic research back in the 30s
And minus the cannon and the machinguns...
my car has 16 valves :D

Almost impossible car to drive. Tail happy!
Is Britain and France still sulking because Germany built those cars on purpose?
It's been a long time, I think there are no more grudges ... 😅
Running on methanol
Out for a put put drive, nice car but not really impressed ...
What car you are impressed?
550 hp in the 1930s and you are not impressed haha!
@@zlover7777 the car is nice, as I said, the driver not so much...
@@rogeeeferrari Oh I am sorry, I thought you weren't impressed ny the car🙂
