Good video but just to point out the nitrates used by the bacteria do not collect in the cup, its the dead bacteria that get knocked off the bio pellets that gets skimmed out. The nitrates get exported as nitrogen gas as the anaerobic bactria take the oxygen molecule from the no3 turning it into nitrogen gas.
Hello Rotter...I have the same one. Question, How should the tumble be? I have it going much less. It's been on for months. I have to add more pellets because they deplete fast. So does the tumble matter?
"As a minimum the pellets must ALL be moving so they do not clump. As a maximum you don't want them pushed out or sticking to the top of the reactor. Anything in between seems to work."
i keep wanting to try the redsea no3po4 but don't want to spend the money all the time. i'm investigating other options that are cheap. i will try this though. i am really curious to use it once. probably order today. the cheato reactor i tried and it didn't do anything for me. i didn't like how it captured the wasted and uneaten food....all that stuff just stays in the water in the sump.
Rotter Tube Reef yeah i didnt want to spend alot of money too but i got a dosing pump and a bottle of redsea no3po4x hooked it all up and its working great for me. i dose 4ml per day keeps no3 at 2-3ppm and po4 about 0.03ppm. corals look great. you got a email address i can send a few photos. thanks steve👍👍
Hey Rotter I don't think you ever showed how you sugar dose your tank ,if you could show how you do it and what type of sugar you use if it matters that would be cool
hey what's up man. yeah, there is a video on that in one of the lower your nitrates videos. i just dose 1 teaspoon regular white sugar per 60 gallons. i put it in the sump. just put both teaspoons directly in the sump daily.
Love your towel buddy :P
;)
Hey whats the name of the channel you and scott had going for a while? Are those vids still avaliable on that channel_ Thanks!
what's up? yes, they are still available. it is called reef talk.
☕Right on time bud. Good video
;)
Hope it works out this time around buddy. I'd love to see you and scott do the shows again together. I miss them. Hope your weekend is good.
thanks Joe. I'm sure Scott and I will do a show soon. I miss them too. We're both so busy.
Can you get these for a sump less tank steve
you can do it but make sure you have a protein skimmer somewhere to export the bad stuff to.
I have a skimmer so i could have the out tube right at the side of the skimmer

What Wissam said. Mine are set to tumble a little more than gently so they are all moving.
