Used the last setup you showed on the video for perch last weekend the bite was lite and slow that set worked great nobody was catching any thing around us we managed 24 nice keepers and 20 the next day well over 10 lbs of fillets thanks for the knot tip
You should use perch rigs with a size 4 or 6 hook rather than mere quarter inch gold hooks cause I lost a keeper trout on those tiny hooks on store bought perch rigs but they are still the superior way to fish with small pieces of cut bait I have very limited fishing I ride my bike to Leo pier having only a few hours but I still catch 1,2,3,4,5 fish in one trip and the best part I usually get bites not even a minute after casting one fish turns into two fish then 3 4 5 and so on after a terrible experience with power baits where I sit and cast for hours and not even a nibble even if a fish is right in front of it then to gulp bites every time I cast but the fish got tired of my gulp and now I use cut bait :-)
whats incorrect about this video? you can adjust the size of hooks or use swivels at either end for the sinker or main line. was just meant to be a quick and very affective rig. also if your fishing for lake there is much better ways to catch them. though on lk michigan we do catch the occasional laker on these rigs ...just don't horse them in.
+Arthur Stoike I started tying like this last year for ocean perch and it works great. I like how the lines going to the hooks stand away from the main line. I'm getting ready for this Spring and had to refresh my memory.
+Steve T Have you had the knots break just curious with the ocean application..in freshwater I've had bite offs but theres not to much strong enough to cause a failure at the knot..
+Arthur Stoike I forgot to mention, if I keep my "hook lines" about 5" long they stay pretty much tangle free even when they roll around on the bottom while ocean surf casting. A huge time saver and saves a lot of frustration. It's a winner!
Joel Hernandez, instead of trashing Mr. Stoike's video why not just show him and us all how it's done like the professional you're trying to prove you are. Until that time go suck on a slug and troll somewhere else.

Arthur Stoike I have not had any knot breaks. I cast in the surf with 10 lb. line and a large perch is about 15" long. It's perfect.
