Eu escutei muito esta canção na Rádio Atlântida FM (Blumenau - SC), no ano de 1990, num programa chamado "Atlântida night express". Eu chegava da aula à noite (Terceirão - Antigo segundo grau) e, começava a ouvir rádio. Na minha opinião, às décadas de 60, 70, 80 e 90, são as melhores, no que se refere as grandes canções. Hoje em dia, eu ouço músicas do passado o tempo todo, porque elas representam-me em melodia, letra e timbre de voz!!!

Green has the most gorgeous tone to his voice, and it is so well used in this song.
On a different note, I have been amused for years how Arthur Baker (ie the writer of the song), a long haired white man who always looked like he should be connected with white rock bands, managed to be at the epicenter of iconically black music from hip-hops inception, and for years after. So incongruous!
