Pull Up Technique! Yesterday we posted a video about the Scapular Pull-up. When we talk about the pull-up, it is crucial that you do the scapular pull-up FIRST. That should be the first motion for any pulling movement that you do. It stabilizes the shoulder in the best position for your shoulder joint while pulling upward. Often times you guys do not engage the shoulder blades first, causing the shoulders to shrug upward and inward… compressing the rotator cuff in the shoulder.
Almost everyone we see do pull-ups does not keep the core engaged. They only engage the upper body and let the rest of the body completely relax! When the core, pelvis, legs, and feet are not aligned with the upper body/shoulders, then the stability and power you create in the shoulder will be reduced. Hanging is just like standing… keep everything aligned!
The only difference between today’s video and yesterday’s video is that you are pulling with the arms in this one! Roll the shoulder blades forward around the body, pull the blades down and lock them in place, then pull up with the arms. When you return from the top of the pull-up, keep the blades engaged, then pull into the next rep.

But opening the scapula by bending the bar is internal rotation or AM i wrong

It is a healthy amount of internal rotation. Just make sure you aren't trying to force your chin over the bar for your last few reps as that's when your shoulders tend to get out of a healthy position.

@@99999george I've made my research and no, what is shown in the video is actually external rotation, that's why it reduces pain. I was confusing external rotation with scapular retracation
