No you shouldn't have to, everything is explained quite well. Some things you should know though: the term "zombies" isn't a thing in FTWD so they call them "walkers", "biters", "shufflers" etc. Animals cannot be infected. And everyone already has the virus. You don't have to be bitten in order to turn, you could simply die and you would still turn unless you were shot/stabbed in the brain. Hope you enjoy the show!

And the only way to kill a walker is by severely damaging its brain so even if you shoot its heart, it'll still "live". Also, I've seen a few episodes if iZombie and I think TWD is way more gory tbh. FTWD isn't so much though.
