Speaker : Nouman Ali Khan - A bit about him
Nouman Ali Khan is the founder and CEO of Bayyinah. His first exposure to Arabic study was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he completed his elementary education. He continued Arabic grammar study in Pakistan, where he received a scholarship for ranking among the top 10 scores in the national Arabic studies board examinations in 1993. But his serious training in Arabic began in the United States in 1999 under Dr. Abdus-Samie, founder and formal principal of Quran College, Faisalabad, Pakistan who happened to be touring the US for intensive lectures in Tafsir and Arabic studies. Under Dr. Abdus-Samie, Nouman developed a keen methodical understanding of Arabic grammar. He further benefited from Dr. Abdus-Samie by internalizing his unique teaching methods and later translating his work into English for the benefit of his own students. Nouman served as professor of Arabic at Nassau Community College until ’06 and has taught Modern Standard and Classical Arabic at various venues for nearly 7 years with over 10,000 students nationwide. Currently he has dedicated himself to a seven-year-long project, of conducting a linguistic & literary focus Qur’anic Tafseer series in English. Never assume you're safe from hell fire because you're Muslim . thinking you're safe can lead you to be sluggish in your worship and deeds. It can even cause you to commit bad deeds and those bad deeds can pile up which leads to losing conscious of Allah and before you know it you become someone you never thought you'd be.

If you have iman it is impossible to have it without having good deeds
What kind of iman is this that you have it and it doesn't lead you to good deeds
And there is no good deed that doesn't end up building your iman
Make a connection between your iman and actions
The proof that you have iman is that you obey allah (swt)and his messengers ( saw)

3 reasons why your Imaan/Faith gets you nowhere in life?
My Muslim friends often talk about Iman being one of the most important attributes for a Muslim to have, if not the most important, but there's a problem with this belief.
1. If someone told you to jump off a cliff into a body of water on blind faith you wouldn't do it unless you had good reasons (depth of water, height of cliff, ability to swim etc) so:
Faith is the excuse people give when they don't have a good reason, because if you had a good reason you would use that reason.
2. Have you ever had good faith about something and it turned out the way you expected?
But you've also had good faith about something and it turned out bad, right?
Faith can lead you to believe something is true but it could lead you to believe something is false so faith is an unreliable pathway to truth.
Do you believe there's life on other planets?
But you'll reject the idea that people see UFO's and get abducted by aliens, why?
Simply because extraordinary claims requires extraordinary evidence. We deny Alien encounters because the reasons given are bad. The methods are suspect and we don't have identifiable models to believe the stories. And we know people lie. We know about fake news.
And yet we're very quick to embrace supernatural stories from the 7th century, with even less evidence and worse reasons.
3.Faith can be embraced for literally anything - true or false it doesn't matter. You can believe in pink flying unicorns based on faith, who's going to stop you?
If all that is required to believe in a God is faith then our lives are meaningless.
I like how you contemplated this. This contemplation is actually encouraged by Allah swt in the Quran.
I just want to mention that believing in or having faith in Allah/God is not the same as believing in aliens or pink flying unicorns.
In the Quran, there are many pieces of proof that this is the word of God. Allah didn't ask us for 100% blind belief. He showed us that He exists and that the Quran is indeed His word.
If a person were asked to believe in Aliens without seeing them, but only through abductions and supposed encounters, it wouldn't be illogical to believe in them. It's just that believing in them wouldn't give a person's life meaning as it would to believe in God.

The problem is that all the proofs are mere allegations and assertions. There isn't a single thing in the Quran that is unequivocally convincing that there's a God. If there is please share.
An experiment was done where a person was given a golf club and told that the club belonged to a great player of golf. That person played the best golf of his life with the that club. The same applies to good luck charms and holy water.
You can make people believe in anything if the conditions are right because humans are susceptible to these beliefs. given how we evolved.
Check out the woman who sees angels here on UA-cam and marvel at how the human race invests in this phenomenon even though theres zero evidence for her claims.
@@tartila.mohamed6033 The Quran contains the alot of prophesies and scientific evidences that have actually come to pass or been discovered through modern science. Some things was revealed by Allah, that wasn't known during the time of revelation; such as the human embryo, the preservation of the Pharoes corpse and many other historical events that couldn't have been predicted. This was even revealed to the Prophet (SAW) who couldn't even read nor write, so it would be impossible for him to know at the time. For all those prophecies and scientific facts to to be known at that time there had to be some sort of devine intervention. And since this scripture has passed the test of time, it would be insane to not think that there is a god. I would recommend learning about infinite regress. An example would be:
A: For "A" to fire a bullet he has to get the command from B to shoot
B: "B" cannot give the command without the premission of "C"
C: "C" cannot give the command without the premission of "D"
And so on so forth for an infinite amount of time. So for there to be a beginning in the first place there has to be a fully indepedent entity that has the power to give the command and that would be as an example "Z" or as we muslims refer to "God". The point is there can't be an infinite number of dependent things in this world, because then there wouldn't be a beginning in the first place. I would recommend reading the Sura called Al-Ikhlas. I hope that clears any doubt and may Allah guides us all because he knows best. Feel free to correct me if im completly wrong.
