@@NWxoxo even funnier is when Byakuya is held captive at the end of UDG, he can hear the girls arguing outside his cell about Komaru wanting to stay to help the survivors of Towa City and he literally smiles when he hears Toko saying she’ll stay behind for Komaru’s sake.
So even Byakuya himself is happy that Toko is willing to spend her time not obsessing over him for her “friend”
That was my headcanon that Byakuya also ships them.
I love their relationship but I think it’s more cuter platonic idk I’m all for it being canon but not everything has to be romantic.

Funny enough, In UDG, the villain’s plan was to Make Komaru the successor to Junko. It also came along with (at least in the ENG VA) Komaru’s voice changing slightly. I know it’s not Canon, but I always thought that through all the trauma in the game, Komaru was slowly changing personality , fortunately it was just her becoming more decisive. Still I’m always tempted in wondering what a Despair Komaru would become?
