My daughter and i love watching your videos together. She is 15 and loves korea so much. She wants to graduate and then go to college and then apply to teach in Korea. Your videos have definitely inspired her...btw your laugh is so infectious! Keep the vids coming!
I've been wanting to teach English in Korea for several years now so I've seen soooo many videos of people talking about it. That said, I wanted to tell you that your videos are the best to watch because you explain things in depth, you are to the point, and your videos keep me engaged and entertained. So thank you! Your videos are very helpful!
I'm 13 and I am dreaming of becoming a teacher in Korea since I love Korea and its culture, I chose to be a teacher from your videos. Your my idol, plz doing what you have to do.
Very informative video. I know at least 5 English major final year students who would be interested in this programme but we're from Ghana🇬🇭. English is our official language and is used in all situations but.....
I literally just started the process of getting my degree with the goal of teaching abroad! This video was super informative and is giving me SO much inspiration to get it done!.😊
The way you structure your points makes everything easily understandable! A perfect teacher! I love your voice so much 😭 you sound so sweet 💕 thanks for your videos! ✨
Happy to see another video! I hope you’re doing well these days. I’m still knocking out these documents as I prep to apply for fall ‘21. I'm trying to remain hopeful given the COVID circumstances. I'm looking forward to making it happen!
currently watching all of the videos i can about how to become an english teacher in korea, and your channel has been so helpful so far. you're an inspiration!! fingers crossed that i can get this process started once i graduate with my undergraduate degree in april
Hi! I recently came across your channel, and your more recent ones on teaching English in Korea have really opened my eyes to many aspects of teaching abroad. They have also answered a lot of questions that I had about this topic (something that I have thought about a lot over the last few years). I also recently graduated with a Bachelors in Secondary English Education so this is something that really catches my attention as something I could potentially do! It really sounds new and exciting so thank you for making these videos! They were very helpful!
Hii! I'm 12 at the moment and too young for this job, but watching your videos is inspiring me more and more to want to do this. Do you have any tips for me right now? 😊
Hi! I would say just keep up those grades and do well in school. As you get older you might want to think about getting some teaching experience under your belt, but you don't have to worry about that too much right now 😊
This comment is so cute! 😄❤️ Prepare for college now . You need a bachelors to become a teacher in Korea . Try learning a foreign language at your high school or jr high school . Learning any language will help you learn Korean. If you can take korean language classes that might help too.
i’m currently a senior in high school & i plan on becoming an english teacher after i graduate college! i’m kind of scared but it doesn’t seem bad! i’m coming to korea this summer just to get the feel & i can’t wait!! thank you for this video! it was very very helpful!
I am a second year in college studying linguistics, and I am very interested in this program! Of course, it wouldn't be for many years that I apply, but your videos are helping me to get started thinking about it early. I appreciate them! Thank you:)
thank you so much for the information and tips. I want to do this, but I'm waiting for my son to graduate HS this June. Once he's done, then I can make my move and gather all my documents with a recruiters assistance. You are correct to say that first timers will feel overwhelmed. I am and I haven't even started! LOL. I will bring this up to my son as well once he obtains his BA degree to see if he would find it interesting to try something out of his comfort zone. Gomawoyo!
I know that l am late to the game and l just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful video. It has been helpful and you are a beautiful soul. Keep up the great work! Sending you hugs and support from Madrid, Spain. Cheers!
you are so cute! i’m currently in my last semester in college and not entirely sure what i want to do. i’m currently looking into this program and it seems very interesting! thank you for this very informative video!
currently a second year college student majoring in Business, and I plan on finishing this degree and teaching English in Korea, so hopefully it all works out for me!
oh my gosh thank you so much for this video! it was so informative and answered most if not all the questions swirling around in my head these past few days! i do have one question though, when you say the korean school year starts in february, when would it end? (after the second sem is over),,,again thank u so much!
I'm so glad! 😊 So the Korean school year is a little strange in my opinion, and exact dates depend on your school and what level of school you teach. In my experience teaching elementary, the first semester is from around the end of February/early March through about the end of July. Summer vacation then takes place most of August, and the second semester starts around the end of August. The second semester goes to about the end of December, then there's about a month of winter vacation in January, you come back to school for about 2 week in February, then there's about a 1-2 week break until the next school starts.

I really appreciate this informative video on EPIK. I have been on the fence of doing EPIK, but watching your video really help me made my decision! I love your videos! Also should get in contact with a recruiting agency first before I do the initial application for EPIK?
That would be best to get one before you apply so they can review and let you know of changes that need to be made in your application before you send it
Natalie Rodriguez Thank you so much! Which recruiting agency would you recommend? I heard of Korvia being the most popular, but I’m open to other agencies
I'm so glad! 😊 And yes you should. You won't be able to apply through a recruitment agency if you already submitted your initial application directly to EPIK. Korvia is probably the most famous EPIK recruiter, but here is a list of all the official ones on EPIK's website www.epik.go.kr/contents.do?contentsNo=57&menuNo=288
taylerwithane Thank you so much for the link. It was really helpful! I decided to use greenheart to apply through EPIK, but they are not accepting Spring 2021 application at the moment.
I live in the U.S for 7 and a half years but I was born in Jamaica,Jamaica is a English speaking country but with an accent and I study in the U.S for 6 grade go up.so can I still Teach in Korea?
Hi Tayler, To confirm, citizens form the Caribbean would definitely not be eligible for EPIK..? Btw this has been very informative, thank you for sharing! 😊
Can you please , please make a video on what are the requirements for an indian to be a teacher there , this video itself was so helpful and if you make more videos on these topics it will be very helpful to so many people , you can't even imagine . Love from india . ❤✌🥺
I'm so glad! And I actually don't have any recommendations for you as there are sooo many out there and EPIK doesn't put too much emphasis on the company you get it from as much as you just having one. I got mine from the International TEFL Academy, but it was quite pricey and definitely recommend finding something cheaper.
Hi Tayler, thank you for such an informational video! Regarding the LORs, is it possible to submit more than two? Also, is there a fee associated with working with a recruiter?
Hi Tayler! I love your videos! The energy and enthusiasm you bring is so wonderful! I'm so inspired and would love to teach English abroad in Korea one day. Which TEFL program did you get your certificate from? I've been researching different places, but it can be overwhelming with the plethora of choices. Any recommendations on where you received your TEFL certificate? Much love from CA!
Please teach BTS as well for their extra speech and communication with fans. I hope there're many ways to do that! And thank you for your very high quality clips!
thank you so much! this is so helpful! love all your videos! edit: quick question! do you have to have had citizenship since 7th grade in those 7 countries, or can you have studied there since elementary, but only got citizenship in high school?
I do not think it matters when you became a citizen in one of the 7 countries. I don't how the timing of the citizenship would matter. As long as you went to school there from 7th-12th grade :)
Thank you so much for this information. Hello I'm from Philippines.. Ma'am how about on TOPIK exam in Korea. Do have any idea on that.. thank!! You so much
Thank you soo much for this video. As I started researching about the Epik today. Your video was very helpful. Also, being Indian, what type of English teacher licence do i need? Apart from the TEFL
Hie Tyler thank you for the information You have mentioned bachelor's degree on the requirements.. Does that mean if you have national diploma you dont qualify?
Hello, ma'am. This vid is informative and helpful. Thank you so much! I am a new subscriber and I am binge-watching your vids. 💖 Anyway, I wanna know more about the medical. Like the process, or what tests do we need to do in Korea. Hope you will notice this. Much love!
Also, the medical check (which you would take in orientation) involves weight and height measurements, a vision test, a hearing test, a urine test, a blood test, a blood pressure test, and a chest X-ray for tuberculosis.
Hello, I would like to ask about the requirements? Is it only open for the citizen of US, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand? How about for those who want to apply but an Asian? By the way, I'm from Philippines. I've been planning to apply in EPIK in the future. Maybe 5 years from now. Currently in the process of taking my Bachelor's Degree. It really inpired me to become an English teacher in Korea.
Thank you so much for this video, it was a very helpful guide to anyone looking forward to teaching english in Korea. I have a question I am a U.s citizen and I hold two bachelors degree but I started attending school here since the 8th grade but I see that it says to provide a proof of schooling from 7th grade does that mean I do not meet the standard requirement.
Thank you so much for breaking this down for us. I was introduced to your vlog by accident, it did not occur to me to search for info on teaching in Korea. When I came across yours, I was hooked. I do have a question for you. I am a late transition of career in life, do you think it is still feasible for me to take this on. My plan is to teach there in about three years. I just started my graduate program in ED-TESOL and I am 51 years old. Please be honest with your thoughts on this, I would appreciate it.
Technically yes, since EPIK's age requirement is supposedly under the age of 62. However, I know they tend to hire younger teachers (but maybe that's because more of them apply). I do remember seeing some older applicants, possibly around your age, at my orientation though. I actually recommend you also look into some university or international school positions since you are obtaining your master's in the field. EPIK might actually be below your level of qualification and more teaching opportunities are open to you in Korea having your master's. Unfortunately, I don't have too much knowledge around what those are, but I think it's worth looking into 😊
@@taylerwithane Thank you so much Tayler, I appreciate your words and they are very encouraging. I look forward to your vlogs, they are highly detailed and considerant of your viewers. Your confidence and enthusiasm shows. Keep fighting 🤗
As a South African 🇿🇦 this is the first time I heard we are eligible because we have 11 official languages 😅 I'm contemplating applying, I have two masters degrees (one from the UK) and cannot find a job in SA, I'm starting to feel like moving abroad is my only option.
Hello, thank you for your awesome videos! My bf and I are in the process of applying to EPIK and I am curious if you know anything about applying as a couple/living together and if that is possible?
I would love to teach English in South Korea, it's been a dream of mine for years! I'd love to know your thoughts on if you think it would be something a single mother would be able to do? I'd love to give my boys the opportunity to experience another culture while growing up!
Amazing video. I was wondering if you could help me with this. Im British and speak the language fluenty but i only moved to the UK when i was 18 (im 30 now). I have an undergraduate and 2 post graduate degrees. So i was wondering would i be eligible or not, since i havent studied here since 7th grade. Thanks
Hi Taylor! Thank you for such an informative video. I wanted to know, as an Indian Citizen, would it be enough to have a Ph.D. from one of the mentioned countries - instead of a BA/MA? My BA and MA are from India itself.
I wonder if you can be an epik teacher and go to uni in Korea at the same time, that could be a great idea imo (making good money + free rent and going to uni there)
Hello! I have been watching your videos and as I try to summon up the courage to just sign up for my TEFL courses, but something you said stood out to me. You mention that it is a requirement to teach at least 10 hours in person when working on your TEFL certification. Do you think it's still required to do so during these times?
For the criminal record check, do you need the fingerprints criminal record check? where you submit your fingerprints to the local police station or the place that checks it and they will check for a criminal record. Or just the criminal record one where they input your name and information and check for a criminal record?
as a brown girl with short hair it gives me hope to see someone that looks like me having succeeded in this process!

Hi, what are the recommendation letters about?
Hi Taylor! Thank you for such an informative video.
I wanted to know, as an Indian Citizen, would it be enough to have a Ph.D. from one of the mentioned countries - instead of a BA/MA?
My BA and MA are from India itself.
Hello ! which TEFL site did you use? also thank you for the informative video:)
I think she said if you have a bachelor's you don't need that certification.
For the criminal record check, do you need the fingerprints criminal record check? where you submit your fingerprints to the local police station or the place that checks it and they will check for a criminal record. Or just the criminal record one where they input your name and information and check for a criminal record?
Hi! When I applied I did the fingerprints one.
If we graduate from a Korean college will that help the process
