After viewing some real content in a more reasonable lit room, I can report that it looks significantly better! It's not perfect, but it's more in light with other laptops I've used (and currently have access to). There will always be a bit of light bleed but the corner IPS glow is highly diminished to be no longer distracting when watching videos/movies with black bars at the top and bottom, so that's a win in my book.
Really appreciate you sharing this experience. Replacing the screen is one of the regular examples I give people when talking about the FW. I have had various laptops for many years and just consider myself lucky that I haven't had a broken/defective screen yet.
That’s one of my fears of laptop repairs too., including the hinges/lid replacement and motherboard. I’ve done the usual stuff like memory, optical, Wi-Fi card, and HDD/SSD. But things that involves fiddly stuff like cabling and tons of different sizes screws gives me anxiety.
Thanks. Any RMA process can be stressful since you don't know if it'll be smooth or if you're in for a fight. I don't know how many other people are dealing with issues. This is their very first generation of this model AND a relatively early batch, too so there are bound to be issues real world users will find that will slip thru their own QA. Their FW13 first generation (Intel 11th Gen CPU) had some issues found too and got fixed and improved with the next generation, including revised hinges and top lids, as well as their expansion cards (the DP and HDMI ones were draining more power when unused but plugged in). They addressed each issue and they are still around! So hoping the same goes for the FW16!
Oddly, i found a few instances where the guide took me to the 13" version and not the 16" version too. I know some parts are interchangeable but if anything that makes it more confusing for me lol

Great video Zeddie I appreciate your efforts to get the screen the way you want it even though it must feel like an exercise in frustration lol

Right!? Something to mention in the Framework forum or even Reddit since their moderators and sometimes even Nirav himself reads and responds there.
