i use some mics depending on the situation. Use some røde video mic /short shotgun mics, wireless mics, a lav and a condenser mic. the condenser mic is hardly use .. bought it long ago when i used to work in the Audio department. Most of the time i use the røde video shotgun mics.

If you have a mic input on your camera then it’s compatible. You can use the XLR-3.5 cable to plug into the mic input on the a6100.
As far as range of sound capturing, are you talking about distance from the mic?
@@CamberFilmSchool yes, the distance, and the camera Sony Alpha A6100 you have used it before also there's video of settings in your channel. So it would be helpful if you can tell me the mic compatible with Sony Alpha A6100 or not. I really like the mic.

@purpose6863 yes, it’s compatible with the camera. As far as distance, you ideally want to have any microphone you’re using to be as close as possible to the subject. If you are more than 5-6 feet away, it’ll start picking up more ambient sounds and not sound as good. If you’re wanting to get general ambient sounds then that’s fine. But for recording a conversation or UA-cam type video, you’ll want to be closer to any microphone you use.
