About 8 years ago Tony came to my hometown and stayed for about a week with his cousin. My friend (who was a teaching pro), gave him a few lessons while he was here and played golf with him a couple of days that week. Back then Tony took a FULL swing to parallel, and he drove the ball 400 yards on several of the holes they played. The second time he played the course, he shot a 62 from the tips. He hit his irons so pure and so far, it was a real pleasure to watch him play. The very next season he was full-time on the PGA Tour. You could tell he had the skills to win on the Tour someday.
I’ve had a very short backswing my whole golf career and have spent a lot of time trying to lengthen it to look more like the classic pro position bc I felt like I needed to in order to be as good as I can be, and then I found Tony. Short backswing, and yet he hammers the ball and shoots lights out. Since finding Tony I’ve enjoyed just grooving my natural swing so much more and my ball striking is better than ever. I’m not saying ppl shouldn’t work on fixing things in their swing but it’s never felt comfortable for me to get as deep in the backswing as some of these pros, and thanks to Tony I no longer try to force it and my game has improved
With some good players going over to liv there is much more opportunities on the pga right now. Personally, I like that. While I may not agree with some things about the liv, I do enjoy more golf with more players winning tournaments.
21 under par after 3 rounds is a joke. The PGA **should** be losing players to LIV when it holds its tournaments on courses that are so preposterously easy.
@@stephenlabadie8183 with all the billions LIV has and oil being so expensive right now. I don’t see money being an issue. At least for the next 5 years.
@@stephenlabadie8183 It's backed by a sovereign fund that has $700 billion in it and they're very aware that they won't be making any money with the new tour any time soon. I don't think that LIV is going away any time soon.
PGA needs guaranteed contracts. Doesn't matter how much money LIV loses, they can still afford to poach players. Just eliminate cuts, give everyone contracts, and have half the Tour play half the tournaments with the other half playing the other half - Majors as the exception. Cam Smith defecting after winning The Open at St Andrews should have been a huge wakeup call.

He's been on fire lately. Hope he wins again tomorrow.
Less competition in the field imo
@@Powder148 Yep, a lot of top dogs are on LIV now, more will join after the season finishes like Smith, Rahm etc

Finau has to be the best dressed on tour. Best hat, best pants, best shoes. Hands down winner 👏🏻
cuz that matters
worst hats ever
Tony is such a cool dude. Great round!
Really happy for Tony, he was overdue, as he is clearly a great talent. I think we'll be seeing him atop the leaderboards increasingly often.
These new cameras and angles on the fairways and greens are pure
Thank LIV. Nothing like competition to dial up someone's game.
Finau thanks you for watching highlights of him. haha well done.
Simple swing but so very good.
This guy has become my favorite golfer
Love to see it Tony congrats and keep it going!!!
sorry, was watching LIV
Everything is so unorthodox, putter toe elevated, loopy swing, 3/4 swing but man he plays good!
It's worth note that he's in constant movement before he starts his backswing.

Liv has been good. Stenson ahead by 3 after 2nd round. Hope he shows those people that stripped him of the RC Captaincy.
Whatever you say about liv you have to love the free streaming on UA-cam
most of the people that went to liv haven't been winning tournaments recently tho
Hardly heard a PGA event was going on….I was watching Liv 🤣 Finau has always been one of my favorites.
Acting like anyone is watching LIV
Yet you are on here commenting on a PGA tour event….

LIV won’t last to long anyway.

Idk bout you but I’d shoot roughly 50 over by now
Congratulations Tony you are a class guy
Finau is the new tiger
Nice watching golf from Detroit as no Kidd Rock and no one got shot.
Tony is the only guy that can pull off gold pants consistently absolute beast
Tan
Imagine how good he would be if he stopped using junior clubs
hahaha 😂
a good one 👍
If I swung like that I would probably hit 110 ball speed
I seriously didnt know there was a pga tour happening!! How was the line up?
Well played Tony 👍

nothing to wakeup at.
when the guys leave for dough, let em go. you just cant compete with petrodollars.
Awesome video
Don't know how the pros can stand the circus atmosphere and loud music on LIV .
Exciting to watch! Piercy chokedddd
Cool!
You know that LIV has most of the top players when Tony Finau wins back to back PGA tour events 🤣🤣
LessssssGo Dox
Tony FINAU swing is one plane ?
If Tony wins this LIV developmental tour event that is 2 in row and qualifies him for a promotion to LIV.
a promotion ?
you sure?
PGA could destroy LIV if they gave us free streaming
Henrik Stenson just won triple the amount that Finau did for 1 days less work......guess where Tony is going next year 😉
yelling get in the hole on a par-4 tee shot should have one escorted from the facility. 🙄
some one noticed he play with a junior set. i agree 😂 ima gona borrow my sons set for better ball strike and control.
LIV ♥️
Fark off then go join that circus.
Second babyyyyyy💪🔥

Long live LIV
Always thought if Tony started winning it be a bunch. Fight hard PGA don’t give in to this liv bs.

Pga tour supports assault rifle bans .
PGA went "Woke", and now they go "Broke". LIV on deck.
Not many more likable guys on tour…

Apparently you care enough to enter the video, give them a view and comment. Exactly what they want.
But here you are lol
