I picked up archery when my wife and I decided to separate. Helped me through my separation from my child and through the divorce. Sometimes I focused sooo much rage into my arrow that I frequently overdrew. Two years later, it was the best thing that came out of my suffering. And my back muscles feel great now.
Fantastic video, Charlie. The mindfulness and physicality of the martial art alongside creative sharing and opportunity for lifelong learning are the attributes that most attract me to archery. I’m looking forward to your next contribution. Best wishes! 😎🏹
Charlie your videos so good. Really made me love archery more. Whenever i see you shoot i just want to get out my bow and practice. Archery is profoundly spiritual as well. Prophet Muhuammad praised archery and encouraged its learning and practice. And no doubt some of your reasons may be part of it. I also invite you my brother to learn about Islam. May 2024 be a year of archery for everyone, and also a spiritual connection with God and undrstanding Islam....and freedom for Palestine. Justicr is the code of the true archer. A true archer is led by freedom just as his arrow is let free from his bow.
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backwards. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great. ' I love this phrase and archery does a lot for ourselves, keep on Charlie 🏹💪
Very well spoken, dear friend! ☺️👍 I have experienced all the points you have mentioned, plus there is one more: breathing. I breathe in when rising the bow and exhale after the shot. If everything works nicely, it’s like meditation ☺️ That’s why I don’t practice speed shooting (except the technique). Keep on running! 👊😁🏹
Hi Charlie: It's good to be busy but, we are almost always busy w/work. In the morning before, i like to warm up, do something like gaozen (close bale) form practice w/ my heavier Bogar turkish bow, making sure i come to full draw, pause, aim and shoot (or hold) without hurry. Then after chores in the evening, i have a fun practice with my Istvan hungarian, light draw, light arrows, 15 meter at a swinging piece of bone or wood, and, just like in tennis, two teams:red fletch arrow vs white fletch arrow in a tie breaker scoring up to 6 hits, have to win by 2 . And, you have to finish the set w/ a hit!! Your videos are a lot of fun too. Between you and Armin H. it is hard to say who is contributing more to the growth and popularity of Archery! Thanks, Randy c
@@CharliesRunningArchery wow, Bohemia! Very nice! Greetings from Romania! The hilly landscape looks very much like our Sub Carpathian regions, that's why it looked very familiar to me. You have my subscribtion and my respect! I also have an archery channel, but it's in my native language. Cheers and... aim small! 🍻🏹💪

Can’t imagine how hard it must have been. Good you found a bow rather than a bottle 🙏
Bless the divine existence who give archery to mankind💙

Hi, thanks. I wrote about Quran in my latest book. Already studied your religion from science perspective.
