I LOVED the thumpers - sadly missed. I was a train engineer at Wimbledon depot and we had a 'departmental' train consisting of a converted thumper for leaf removal painted BRIGHT YELLOW! I cabbed that many times! DONKA DONKA DONKA..............
Interesting video and lovely to see these units well restored and running.
Bonus was shots of the engine room and of course those cab rides!
