All on point, straight and no sugar coating! Such a very informative video Yulia. Keep making more of these for us international students.
Hi Yulia. If I open an account in my country (let's say ScotiaBank. We have this bank in our country), then can I put my money in that account and then use that money in Canada? I mean carry out some transfers or payments with that ScotiaBank account in Canada?
Thank you.
not sure, sorry! I would talk to a bank representative in your country and ask these questions :)
I got CIBC. No monthly fees for 2yrs for newcomers as workers. Also got credit card with 1,500 limit
niiice! thanks for sharing 🙌🏼
Did you give them 1500 to freeze/lock before they gave you the credit card, or did they provide it to you without a deposit?
Hi Yuilia if you are on Airbnb home you cant get bank account? its whith out contract ..
I think you can change your address later. all they need is ID + study permit
When I opened my first Canadian bank account in March this year (with Royal Bank of Canada) I was staying in a hotel for two weeks. The bank used my hotel address and then when I moved to my apartment I went into the app and changed the address. The bank also told me that they would hold off sending my debit card until I changed the address and requested the card. All worked out fine.
❤❤👍🏻
Thanks for this, it was very informative :)
Hi Julia

Opening a bank account is a crucial first step to financial success. It's like planting the seed for your money tree. 💰💼 Over the years, I've found that having multiple accounts for different financial goals, whether it's a high-yield savings account, a brokerage account for investments, or a business account, has been key to growing my wealth.I wasn't financially free until my 30s, and I'm still in my 30s. I've bought my second house, earn on a monthly basis through passive income, and achieved 4 out of 5 goals. Investing is the wise decision I made
By working with Regina Louise Collaro, you can benefit from her expertise and potentially achieve better returns on your investments than if they were to make investment decisions on their own. Additionally, she can provide personalized advice and guidance tailored to your unique financial situation and goals, which can help you make better-informed decisions and achieve their financial objectives more effectively.
Regina Louise Collaro is based in the United States and can work with anybody wherever they stay. If you would like more information about her, you can conduct a search online
I have had the intentions of starting investing. But I always thought it was late and I think I need to stop procrastinating. I will definitely 🔍 Regina Louise Collaro and see what she can advise .Thanks a lot . This was of so much help to me
It's surprising to see Regina Louise Collaro mentioned here, and I've always had conflicting thoughts about hiring an investment advisor. Just to clarify, I began working with Regina in 2019, and she handles approximately 70% of my investments, while I personally manage the remaining 30%. My belief has always been that I am most invested in my own money, but Regina helped me understand the value of their extensive knowledge about current market conditions and future trends.

It is worth to mention that some banks have special programs for newcomers (not only for students). For example, you might have a bank account without any fees for the first year. Is it also possible to obtain a regular credit card if you are a newcomer but you have a job (for example when you moved to Canada by work permit)
Sister how to start business in canada😅
that's a complex topic! I might film a video one day 👀
Recent i did my senior education and now seeking for further education in US or Canada. If destiny get me there i start my own business🤪 that’s not cynic commitment idk what I’m writing 😅
You are a discovery! I'm a freelancer from Russia and i eork with western companies and it's such a headache to transfer money! I will definitely try wise! You're awesome! If i could find a video about Full immigration process from abroad with express entry without visiting Canada first, it would be mindblowing! Thanks!
I'm glad this video was helpful! I don't do immigration videos, sorry 🥲
@@ThisisYulia That's fine, you're still the best! Georgeous humour, imho!)
Thank you 🇧🇩👍Md Bilal Elektroik 🇧🇩1💯❤✌YOU look like my ejder sister 👍👍👐☝👌👌✌✋🌹🌹😘😘❤❤💯📢✔
Your Social Security, no matter which country it is from, is also a bank acocunt. If you have a driving license, it is also bank account. And there are insurances attached to it.
And you start accounts all the time. Where special rules rule what you can do with such an account....
Yulia can you get a Canadian phone number from abroad? Or what’s the best company for students?
I'd like to know more about this topic too 🖐🏻
Please
I don't think you can. I liked being with Fido (it might be pricy but the service is amazing)
Hi Julia, I love the content on this video. I know that you did a 1+1 postgrad program and I remember you had said that you need to update your SIN number eventually. I am about to graduate from my first program in 3 weeks. I have a 4 month break between my programs. I have a SIN number but have not started working as of yet, will start working soon. I was wondering what is the process of getting a new SIN number and am I supposed to apply for it after I have applied with IRCC for my study permit extension for the second program?
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration,
Slobodanka.
Hey Slobodanka, you can find all the info about getting a new SIN here: www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/sin/apply.html
Hi Yulia. Thanks for the informative video❤...
Can a new PR holder open GIC a/c (or only for students) to Deposit as savings anyways doesn't give any return and for a new comer investment right away is not in the recent plans. ?
Also, I guess banks do not ask for SIN. And Scotia bank allows PR or student holders to open an international acocunt to transfer money and once u land, u can have thr local a/c activated with passport, status proof and immigration form received at the airport. Kindly feel free to add your comments ❤
