I am 77yrs old and I still love the old music, I can't understand why people hated disco music, all these great bands, better than the crap sounds of today. That was the great era never to forgotten.
I am a 62 year old punkrocker and metalhead, but I grew up with disco also. This is one of my top five songs from this era and I am so happy to find this version after 46 years, as the original version caught me in 1977!!!
I'm 35 years old currently. Back when I was a teenager I couldn't possibly understand why my dad was so hyped about the music of his time. Nowadays, I'd rather listen to the music from his time all the way back to the 1930's than the soulless stuff they have on the radio nowadays. I wish we had more of that funky disco type music. It has so much life to it.
Of course I am old, 57, and I realize when you get old, you don't necessarily "understand" the music of the younger generations. There's two things in particular, I just can't understand. First is autotune. It's been ruining music for over 10 years. I loath it. I can hear it on most pop songs, and the effect makes them sound screechy, like fingernails on a chalkboard. I could care less about the effect IF it made music sound better. But IMO, it ruins music completely. I guess I am just sensitive to the artifacts it creates. The other thing I don't understand is so called "modern rock." 20 years ago, or thereabouts, we moved from grunge to modern rock. I wasn't a big grunge fan. But there were some pretty good albums, for example a few by Pearl Jam, and one by Alice in Chains. This is me saying, I liked those albums. But then, modern rock. And as boring as grunge was, modern rock was ever more boring. I work in a software lab where we have a radio playing the modern rock station. And weeks of doing this, has made me realize how boring modern rock is. All over again. Stopped listening to it years ago, but now I am a captive audience. Comparing that to the far more diverse music of 60s, 70s and 80s, and even the 90s it's dul dull dull. Just screaming and guitar and drums. That's it. I guess we will never get sophisticated and intricate rock ever again. No Floyd. No Sytx. No ELP. No new wave. No punk. Punk was plain, but INTERESTING. I still like punk. Modern rock...ack. It's just...there. I don't care how good the muscians are, they don't do anything interesting to prove it.
@@michaelbauers8800 I don' t know how they picked what was played on the radio back in the day. Problem nowadays is that it's a popularity contest. What I'm seeing is the music industry looking at what people listen to (what gets listeners and makes money), and then starts producing music to fit into that category. Preferably in an easy way too - less instruments and more computer. So what they prefer to release is what people are familiar with. What they do is they take what you've already heard, switch it up and release it again. The best they can come up with is another handsome/pretty artist with exactly the same voice which is then supposed to be 'all the rage'. It's too bad. Where is that music/ are those musicians that produce something because it's their passion. Not caring about wether people like it or not, because this is what they bring into the world? Maybe they just never make it to the popular radio stations. That said it's difficult for me to listen to a radio that has been reduced to about 4 music genres of all the same and artists trying to be popular rather than be passionate. Heck, I've never enjoyed rap music, but at least I can hear the stories and the attempts at originality when I'm listening to it. I couldn't understand why so many people hated disco music it was so much better than anything we here today. In my opinion this was the best disco song ever
I'm 66 and still am listening to it. Along with Swing, R&B, Soul, Rock, Blues, Classical, Jazz and even some Country & Western. This was when people cared about how they looked when in public.
Same here Don, this music is infectious, you can't but get up and dance to it. Better than that crap off Miley Cyrus and dipstick Bieber, also that rap crap we had forced on us. Bad enough having that garbage music from the 80s, no class in that. Now THIS makes you wanna get up and go clubbing on a Saturday night, that was the highlight of our week in the mid to late 70s, Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Kool & The Gang, Oddyssey, Chic. Baccarra, Emotions, Rose Royce with Car Wash.
Best time for disco and these type of groups, was in the 70's. Also, good time for a variety of quality music. I still love listening to it all. That era will take some beating for music...❤
We are lucky to have had the ability to record this great music. Imagine if there was no way to record sound. We would never remember music like this a generation later. Or would we?
We would only have score sheets, as for music by Mozart. But I find that there are such huge differences in the interpretations of one song when played or sung by different artists, or even by the same artist after an interval of time. I often love the one version and dislike the other. With this we have the official studio version, perfected by a whole team of technicians and played, re-played and mixed until it was perfect. This stuff is not designed for live performance.
Too late! You needed to be sexually mature for this stuff, not for children! Teenagers OK just starting to get those strong feelings, this music said what you were feeling inside. "When my spark gets hot"😉 (who writes that stuff?😂) You need to have experienced ecstatic love, break-up, heart-break, etc, all the emotions, these songs are also designed to soothe your feelings when it all goes pear-shaped, as with all music.
This song and the whole band jammin out with those AWESOME bellbottom suits just makes me smile every time. This right here makes you love life! I hope the younger generation can one day appreciate this.
I was talking to my niece last week and she was telling me how much she appreciated I introduced her to different kinds of music when she was growing up. She just turned 44. Apparently I had more influence on her than I realized.
76 here and I wasn't in the thick of it, but I liked it. I had friends who to me were real 60's snobs and thought it was terrible. I don't see that at all.
Im an 1980s guy but you cant help but respect these men. Not my Genre of music but THESE are musicians. Great Lead Vocals, Great back up vocals, Great Beat, MULTIPLE instruments in total harmony, Excellent choreography and most important you can tell they LOVE music. How music went from this to Niki Minaj and all these " gangsta" Punk guys is so sad. A mono tone voice and 1 single beat made by a machine is NOT music! These men are supremely talented. THESE MEN ARE GREAT MUSICIANS BAR NONE!!!!
Haha, I've never even heard of "Niki Minaj and "gangsta" Punk. Sometimes I hear modern music in the supermarket, I try to get my shopping done as soon as possible and make a swift exit. Seems to be effeminate blokes warbling. But not with the skill of the Bee Gees😂😂I don't get it. There's no emotion in it that I can recognise. Just commercial garbage
My absolute favorite disco song. The way the lead-singer screams after the bridge on the lyric, "...SAAAAA-TIS-FACTION, came in a chain RE-ACTION..." I consider a high point in rock n roll. It simply can't be topped. Thank you, fellows, for creating this wonderful music! (Oh, by the way, I'm 75 years old.)
Hello I am 71 years and love to dance to the disco and 60's and am a BABY BOOMER and happy to be one I go to the club for the BABY BOOMERS a few times and Yes I move for my age so bring it back Portland, or
I rode Guardians of the Galaxy in Epcot. This was the track for my ride. Think it may have not been the long version. What fun though...Awesome combo of ride and music...
Every generation seems to love these great songs! I love them(65) , my kids love 60, 70 and 80s music and my grandkids are loving it also. My 12 year old granddaughter is having a disco birthday party tomorrow.
Yes! I'm 67 and still cut a rug. When I do work around the house outside have my earbuds in and listen to music. The music is on my phone on its Micro SD Card and the playlist is over 18 hours long. I have Swing, R&B Rock & Roll, Disco, Country & Western, Soul, Hip Hop. It's basically songs that make my feet and hips move. One day a couple of ladies my wife knew stopped by and they seemed surprised that I actually dance when when I work. My sister thought that after having a heart attack and bypass surgery I would just sit around and not do anything as she would. When I go walking I listen to music. When I first told my doctor about going walking and dancing she said, "good."
@@eileenbaird6617, I have been collecting CDs for years and "The Disco Years, Volume 1 Turn The Beat Around" is one of the ones I have on my phone. I started buying them when I was working as an over-the-road driver to listen to when I was areas of the country where I couldn't pick up anything to listen to. Yes, the U.S. has music dead zones. After about $80 worth of music was stolen from my truck the next time I was home I started putting the music on the phone's Micro SD Card. If the truck's radio didn't have Bluetooth I have a cable to run from the phone to the radio but nowadays it seems they all come with Bluetooth. With what I have on the phone now my current playlist is over 18 hours.
For me this is the best disco track ever. The disco era was great, people wanted to dance and have fun and we did. I'm so grateful I was alive back then, I had some great friends and I wouldn't change a single minute. BURN BABY BURN ❤
yup its my best friend on the bass Rusty I DJ every Saturday Night With Rusty KNOWN HIM FOR OVER 4 DECADES anyway he told my it's a combination between the bass & the synthesizer at the same time that gives it that sound 👍
I was thinking the same thing. Can you imagine the first time the group heard that bass line...........Im pretty sure they all knew that this was a certified hit.
I was and remain crap at dancing at 61, but loved this and still do. Great exercising to on a bike or elliptical. Dance through my exercise routine. This is the best.
I'm firmly in the "can't dance, won't dance" envelope and love my guitar rock but this is MY JAM. Classic dance tune, if that bass don't get your foot tapping there's something wrong 🇬🇧
This is not just a song. It was a philosophy of its time that lives today. Yes, disco was over cooked. But at end of the day this form of music stands like all other music of its time. Proof disco is extraordinary. I am listening and enjoying this classic hit from 1976 in 2021. 45 years from now someone else will entertain themselves
Pretty sure most if not all forms of music endure the march of time anyway. I like metal myself, but it's okay if others like this instead. The thing is, "the philosophy of its time" was pretty much dancing all day, being a hippie and overdosing on drugs.
Arguably the greatest disco song ever put forth. It had EVERYTHING!!!!!!! Lyrics, vocals, boogie down beat, bass, horns, and that undefinable something that makes you want to hit the floor, dance and jump for joy!!!!!
I'm a 95 year old punk rock/metal head/ country western /poka Marine Corp veteran who remembers the old days of the internet, when this was all corn fields and politicians did what they said they were going to without all the theatrics, and EVEN I can see why this song is indeed fire.
I’m 450 million years old and was grooving all the way back when the dinosaurs were still around. T-Rex was the shit, and I don’t just mean Gary Glitter’s band.
Best disco song EVER!! When my daughters heard Disco Inferno on our stereo they knew it was house cleaning day! Kept it on replay until the work was done! Burn baby burn!!

Really miss those years. Miss the music, the love, the friends, the times. At 75 it's about over for me. I would give anything to go back to the 60's and 70's - and I would stay. Peace out my friends and shine on.
Tony Mendes, thank you for sharing. I remember dancing to this at the disco clubs in D.C. in the '70's . Who needs to pay for a gym when one dances to this off-the-charts sensational music. I truly dig the brass; the Trammps chorography and dress takes my breath away Iris from Manassas, VA.
Love this song. This is one of the major black groups of the 70's great music, great dancing, great beat, great lyrics. No cursing, no drug references, no overt sexual references, no references to guns or killing, no mumbling (can understand every word) and here it is 2021 and it still makes ya move your feet. More than some WAP ever will.
What can you say? I cannot get enough of this MUSIC. Watching this video - NOT ONLY THE SINGERS - but the BAND - You certainly cannot STOP. Moving and grooving
wonderful to see my youth on the disco dance floor. I'll be 80 in a month and I still love it as much as when I was young. Thank You for such good music we had, the best good memories are alive in me.
70 and the heyday of disco was the formative year of 75m & 76 was like and volcano explode into NYC running redhot thru the celebration of the tall ships under the gw and lost my hips sometime that year, hoping to catch about now
As a young student in Paris at the time I can attest to the fact that this number filled the dancefloors of every club I went to. And I went to many then. Disco was irresistible, you just HAD to boogie!
So many memories come back every time I hear this. The time we got into studio 54, the time we waited 6 hours to see these guys and then they asked us to hang out at a bar, my awesome time of growing up in NY at that time! I need a time machine! It was an awesome time to live.
The absolute greatest song from the 70s disco era. If this couldn’t get you on the dance floor back then, or now, nothing could. If nothing else the long version gave inspiration for a solid 10 minutes of high energy cardio 🕺🏽😁
AT 57 YEARS OLD,I STILL CAN'T THINK OF MANY SONGS THAT HAS THE POWER TO MAKE US DANCE LIKE DISCO INFERNO CAN.THIS IS PURE AND TRUE DANCE MUSIC FOREVER.
What a classic combo of drums, bass , instrumentals and vocals. THE original "wall of sound"... Classic tune and i bloody luvvit.. The driving thump of a great dance sound. I dare you to stay still when you listen to this truly great tune... That bass line is just classic rhythm...

You should see my CD collection which has been put on my phone's memory card.
You are right !!!
Right On makes you wanta dance no matter how old you are😅
So much love and real life in this song i miss old time❤
It doesn’t matter what age you are. This music is timeless.
absolutely !!!!!
Kc and the Sunshine Band
Best time for disco and these type of groups, was in the 70's.
Also, good time for a variety of quality music. I still love listening to it all.
That era will take some beating for music...❤
They don't know what's good when they hear
On so many levels this is a 10/10 classic, and will be so for many years to come!
Missing the 70's. I am 53. I heard this stuff as a kid. Disco forever! May 2024!
June 21st 2024.. lol I'm a just a young one at 46.. but I remember!
Age 61, HS class of 1981, this music is from my radio days and AT 40 with Casey Kasem!

Yes we do.
We definitely do!!🤩
Can't wait xxx!
I love the groove the beat abd especially the dance x
We are lucky to have had the ability to record this great music. Imagine if there was no way to record sound. We would never remember music like this a generation later. Or would we?
We would only have score sheets, as for music by Mozart. But I find that there are such huge differences in the interpretations of one song when played or sung by different artists, or even by the same artist after an interval of time. I often love the one version and dislike the other. With this we have the official studio version, perfected by a whole team of technicians and played, re-played and mixed until it was perfect. This stuff is not designed for live performance.
I was born in 1970, I was born into such an eclectic musical era.....Rock, Disco, Pop, Rythm and Blues, Soul.....it all sounded GOOD!
Funk, Soft Rock and the birth of Hip Hop
not only a brilliant song, but the band is amazing... the energy.... omg... nothing like this nowadays....
100% right
I am a 1975 baby and I have to say growing up with disco 🕺 tunes like this was amazing. Thanks for sharing 👌🏾
Awesome heh?!! ❣
I was talking to my niece last week and she was telling me how much she appreciated I introduced her to different kinds of music when she was growing up. She just turned 44. Apparently I had more influence on her than I realized.
awesome...i wish we could go back in time....
Let’s groove
And burn this mutha down !!!!
I've always appreciated this. Sadly there's a lot of trash out there these days that people seem to enjoy more ...
Disco music is fun and full of energy. I love it. Am 71 and still enjoy it.

Happy you lived in this era 😊❤
I’m so glad I was young and lived through this era. We had the best music ❤
This is definitely one of the best dancing songs (and singing 🎶) EVER. Thanks for playing the long version @Tony Mendes.
lets go back to the 70s music better than the crap the kids listen to these days
Go Tony! 😊
63 yrs. here. I wish I could go back.
In my 50s and I still think it is the greatest disco song SAAAAAAAAAAtis faction!!
Hello I am 71 years and love to dance to the disco and 60's and am a BABY BOOMER and happy to be one I go to the club for the BABY BOOMERS a few times and Yes I move for my age so bring it back Portland, or
The long version is UNTOUCHABLE 😵💫
I agree
i'm glad the extended original 12 mix on spotify is on here which is insane
The long version last 3 years, by the time it finished disco was over.
The sickest 😮
I rode Guardians of the Galaxy in Epcot. This was the track for my ride. Think it may have not been the long version. What fun though...Awesome combo of ride and music...
Every generation seems to love these great songs! I love them(65) , my kids love 60, 70 and 80s music and my grandkids are loving it also. My 12 year old granddaughter is having a disco birthday party tomorrow.
You've got a hip granddaughter with a hip grandmother

Disco was the greatest music. It will have you dancing all night long!!🎉
Better than feeling miserable!
I agree. Disco was the greatest music😊
I am 70 years old and this song still makes me dance!
I'm 73 just hope my knees hold out😜
This song always makes me smile....72 y.o. Was heartened to find out my 37 y.o. son had it on his playlist.
I'mthere with you Mark, same age as you and some songs move me, this masterpiece keeps me moving.
For me this is the best disco track ever. The disco era was great, people wanted to dance and have fun and we did. I'm so grateful I was alive back then, I had some great friends and I wouldn't change a single minute. BURN BABY BURN ❤
Good times. Wish we could go back
there will be good times again, with great music.
I agree ...hundreds per cent.!!
Unfortunately I was married to a man who did not dance and missed out ~ just dancing 'round the house by myself.
We used to go to the bars in downtown Iowa City and dance to this one and many others. Angel flight pants - yes!
Let's bring a disco back. A revolutionary movement. Real singing, band, no vulgar lyrics. I listen every day. Im 60, and it brings back memories to me
I'm pre-disco, but this song charges me up and energizes this 71 year old! Great group, great song! Makes my hips cause my feet to do their thing!
I’m post-disco era
¡ Y a bailar se ha dicho !
Whoever made this bassline was a genius.
yessss!!!!!
yup its my best friend on the bass Rusty I DJ every Saturday Night With Rusty KNOWN HIM FOR OVER 4 DECADES anyway he told my it's a combination between the bass & the synthesizer at the same time that gives it that sound 👍
I was thinking the same thing. Can you imagine the first time the group heard that bass line...........Im pretty sure they all knew that this was a certified hit.
The Tate Brothers brought me here.
Amen to the bass line
People who were crap at dancing were the ones who hated disco, this is a classic foot tapper, brilliant song
Funny. I knew some 60's snobs who thought it wasn't 'serious' enough, but I like your theory better!!!
I was and remain crap at dancing at 61, but loved this and still do. Great exercising to on a bike or elliptical. Dance through my exercise routine. This is the best.
Hustle time
I'm firmly in the "can't dance, won't dance" envelope and love my guitar rock but this is MY JAM.

Love this song. This is one of the major black groups of the 70's great music, great dancing, great beat, great lyrics. 70 and the heyday of disco was the formative year of 75m & 76 was like and volcano explode into NYC running redhot thru the celebration of the tall ships under the gw and lost my hips sometime that year, hoping to catch about now
My single greatest regret in life is missing the 70's by just a couple decades. Such a damn shame.
As a young student in Paris at the time I can attest to the fact that this number filled the dancefloors of every club I went to.
And I went to many then.
Disco was irresistible, you just HAD to boogie!
