- In this video devotional, Dennis Pollock teaches about the Bible's insistence that we who follow Christ must live a "quiet life," minding our own business, working peacefully, and serving God joyfully. Although many do not see this as important, in God's eyes it is very important.

I aspire to live a quiet life, that's why I found myself here. A very simple life full of tranquility, a life that gives me peace amidst all the confusions of the modern world.
Amen! We cannot make the world a simpler place, but we can make our lives simpler!
Jesus said my peace I give to you. This is why I walked away from politics and the anger that comes from it! I realized I’m now in God’s kingdom and want to please my Lord and love others. I spread the good news of Jesus, which is far better. Praise the Lord!
"The wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God." God bless you, my brother.
as an upcoming mma fighter, Jesus is the only thing that makes me feel comforted, quiet and filled with love. without Jesus, i had voices in my head and it messed up my mma game and my life in general. i was addicted to porn and skipped training almost every time. But, when i found Jesus, everything changed. May God be with you!
So glad to hear that, Brayden. May God bless you always and lead you in paths of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Amen Dennis. All I know is, the more time I spend reading and meditating on the Word of God, the more I experience that "quiet life". There is so much peace in living this way (even with everything that's going on.) Thank you for sharing this thought. It really Blessed my soul. God Bless you, your Beautiful wife, Benedicta and your ministry efforts.
Thanks, Kathy!
A quiet life in Christ Jesus is an excellent life.
Amen!
This is SO helpful today. I've been a christian for around 20 years and I never struggled SO hard with distraction and noise, and I believe is a generational fact after 2008 when social media begun. So I pray to the Holy Spirit to reveal this message to me, to give me a breakthrough from social media and cellphone addiction I feel I've developed. Thank you for this message.
Glad it was helpful!
My life after following God❤️very peaceful now with me and God.
I treat people how I wish to be treated every single day. I talk to people I meet with a smile on my face and for a few minutes try to bring joy to their lives. If people ask me “why are you always so happy and friendly?”
I now tell them that I have accepted God into my life, but only those who ask. If they do not ask I do not tell them. Everything I have is what God has given me and I do not need to seek reward but I will carry on being good and true no matter what.
There's power in silence...
I kinda chuckled at you describing my “gift” of thinking 🤔 I can fix other people’s problems with my own efforts. It’s laughable. Once I gave up this notion my life suddenly got more manageable. I wonder why?!
Amen. I know our Father was speaking to me through this.
Praise God!
True. We are not to become overly involved in other people's lives yet we are to pray for our leaders. Thanks, Pastor!☺️
You're welcome, Rhonda!
Yes as well as not being attention seekers by not telling your business.
Good word, true takes time to come to that place of quite living. Once you get it you will cherish it.
You bet!
Beautiful, thank you. This is so needed in this fame and influence seeking social media world.
Absolutely!
This is so very beautiful, that it brings joy to my hears and my life. I agree with everything that you said reading from those bible verse, both famous and non famous people need to live a quiet life, staying out of other people’s business and as well as stop telling your own business through attention seeking whether the news is good or bad. Everyone is always taking about being vocal all the time, but that’s not what we need, but silence so we can hear god voice in our lives. Beautiful god bless you
You are a man of wisdom and great understanding 👍🙏☝️😇❤️
Thank you for sharing this wonderful message. Yes, when seriously following Jesus, we become alone but not lonely because we are busy denying ourselves and carrying our cross to endure with and for Him until the end to be saved. May Jesus bless you and your family.
God bless you, Rene!
Thank you for this video. This (leading a quiet life) was on my heart yesterday. Although my prayer is that "The Lord will fulfill HIS purpose for me," (Psalm 138:8), I do not assume that his purpose is to make me another Billy Graham. Whatever The Lord wants for me, whatever service He would have me do, is what I want to do! "I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked." (Psalm 84:10)
You have a beautiful attitude!
Timely message this is something I’m striving for shalom
Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you
Thank you for this video - I’ve just found Christ and my job is in the adult industry. I have to quit and I don’t know how- but I am a great photographer. This is a sign to use my skills on God ❤
God has a great future for you! When we lay down and forsake what God has told us to leave behind - He will always have something better in our future - although we may need to wait for it.
Good for you! The Lord will most certainly direct and take care of the life that belongs to Him.
I loosen the word of 1 thessalonians 4:11-12 in agreement with this whole message for myself, my friends, family, colleagues, acquintances, neighbours, opponents and the body of Christ to lead a quiet life, while I and the body of Christ will not be unequally yoked with and have any common share with any evildoer serving satan, binding all that wants to disturb a quiet and peaceful life to the pit of hell, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!
A nice quiet life is the way. Id doesn't mean we need to be doormats.
God spoken to me today....
Very defined words, I wasn't seeing it that way at younger age, wonderful
Amen and moderation. Phillipians 4
That was a interesting tidbit, about the painting, never knew that...we have that picture in our kitchen, by the table! Love it, it speaks volumes.( I said tidbit, not Timbits lol)
It's a great painting. I need to get a print for me sometime!
Thank you.
Welcome!
Message well delivered, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this.

Amen❤️🙏🏾
Excellent message!

There's no shame in living a quiet life.I'm an introvert.
Hi Brother. Much love from Australia.
I zealously would love to have the boldness of The Apostle Paul. He was not quiet, he was not pious (is that how it's spelt?) He did not live a quiet life. He was a warrior of God and fought the good fight. We need more Brothers and Sisters in Christ to set the example of The Apostle Paul and this cannot be done living a quiet life. Especially in these last days. I also should take my preaching unto myself.
Also 1 Thessalonians 4:11 in the King James Version is not the scripture that is on the channel. Your version takes out the word "study" and this changes what is supposed to be said.
Please get back to me.
You're right - Paul's life could hardly be called a quiet life. But he was an exception. And all the turmoil was not of his making. He simply desired to tell people about Jesus, but his enemies hated his boldness and his effectiveness, and created turmoil and uproars almost everywhere he went. I imagine that when Paul encouraged believers to live a quiet life, he was probably thinking: "I wish I could!"
I have a copy of that painting 😊
Loved this! Thank you. - Laura
Thanks, Laura! It's amazing how many people have appreciated the simple premise behind this devo.
How does this match up with the parable of the talents and that God will give us rewards based on the things we do in life?
incorporate both …into our lives❣️
my mom told me that saying mind your own business or don't but your nose in anyone's business
Amen.
Question: Does this mean let evil happen? For instance, someone is getting beaten up, and you just walk on by. You did the quiet thing, but did you do the right thing?
Obviously that is not the case. But for most of us, that scenario is extremely rare - maybe once or twice in a lifetime.
@@dpollock333 Thanks for the answer!
I was wondering because I see those scenarios a lot, sadly they're not as rare as they should be, and most of the time people just sit down and do nothing. So I didn't know if they were doing the right thing or the wrong thing.
Absolutely NOT!! Over looking evil is evil itself. There were times in Jesus' earthly ministry that He lead a quiet life and then there were times because of SIN He turned the tables over and used the whip!

❤🙏
I get you Dennis. But we are not living in quiet times. The verse about praying for our Leaders smack me. Yes I pray for our leaders even though many are ungodly. Paul lived as well as Jesus in an ungodly Empire. Just as nasty as the one we live in if not more so. I want Jesus to come so righteousness will finally arrive but at the same time am alarm at so many people not knowing and accepting Jesus. Including family and friends. I depend on the Holy Spirit to check me and correct me all the time.Trying to be like David in the Old Testament , letting God remove an unrighteous leader. It saddened me how many people will follow ungodliness then say they are Christians. It hurts the Gospel and does not honor Jesus. One thing I have been taught from the Lord is not to give up on those people. Reading Revelations we see seven churches and most were messed up in some way. Yet Jesus corrected them and loved them anyway. The mercy of God is to me one of His most amazing personality traits.
"Fixing people" isn't a spiritual gift
I DISAGREE that christianity is a calm and quiet, silent life. Jesus spoke up and was confronting the rulers of Israel. In our times if christians don't speak up for truth and God's values, no-one will. We are the ones that are here to proclaim truth and God's values at all cost. Just as apostles did and just as Jesus did.
Much too passive. Needs re-visiting. "Quiet" can help some times yes. But not as a life goal. Examine the history of the human race. Not the sheep.
quiet does not mean passive, doing nothing. Quiet is strength under control.
Do more of this Dennis please. Thanks.
Amen praise the Lord
"Mind your own business" the only problem with this statement is that the people who really need to hear this. Will not listen.
