I saw a church turn from solid to the extreme. It is very sad. I saw concerning signs in the few months before things really turned. Once God made it clear to stay away, I did. What is sad is I lost my relationships with all those that stayed.

I have heard people say, like a hundred times, "I was in a gospel centered church", or some variation of that. Well that is fine, but what else did that church teach. If that church ONLY taught the gospel, then that church knew nothing else, and that is how really bad teaching came in. I am very tired of hearing people say that their church is fine because it was "gospel centered". No, it's not, if that is all they are teaching. That is not the whole counsel of God. The Bible tells us to be Bereans. They studied the scriptures they had to make sure Paul was not leading them astray. How come people are not making sure their church does this? Being "gospel centered" isn't going to do anything but keep your church in a baby christian mode if they are not learning anything else. UGH sorry for the rant, i am just sick and tired of hearing it.

Thank you for this much-needed story of how bad theology has real-life consequences. It's one thing to say this is wrong, that is wrong, but it's important to know that these theological tumors are metastasizing in actual churches and dividing them.

Wow, criticizing authority has become a huge problem in the last few days especially with a major net work… Great timing on this interview… As always thank you, Abba

In my experience, I haven’t run into any church leadership that takes it well, despite the denomination. True even on denominational level as well which is where I worked for many years. Not charismatic denomination at all.

Bones in steak or pork chops are fairly easy to detect and avoid. Bones in fish can be tricky and cause choking if not detected before swallowing.

This is absolutely devastating. My heart goes out to him and his family. A church completely deceived. This is so heartbreaking!! We are watching prophecy fulfilled daily right before our eyes.
Note: And NOT lies that the 'fake apostles' and the people who are going to classes to 'learn how to prophesy' (fake)(unbiblical) are speaking.

Sounds like my entire life as a now 49 year old preachers kid. I’ve seen it lol, seen pastors come in a commit what was basically mutiny. Church hierarchies can be very dangerous. I know Bethel has some serious issues. I need to know more about Johnson’s theology.

    Jude 1:4
For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

A charismatic pastor “reading the room” assembling his team to further his idea of a successful church. Manipulation already has begun! God helped you (and your wife) recognize this early on.

Very good. It's all about the $$$. When you can sell out your child to keep your cushy job you have given up any hope of salvation, in this world or the next. I hope they find a way out of that swamp, but with the kind of life-style they are accustomed to it will be tough.

My journey has encompassed a lot of what has been presented here. This is a great presentation of concerns that eventually lead me to the Greek Orthodox for the fullness of the Faith. Great podcast here! Good Job!

Does anybody know if Bill Johnson has been defrocked from the Assemblies of God?

    • @geraldbritton8118
      @geraldbritton8118 3 години тому +5

Bethel Church is not part of the Assemblies of God so no one in the AOG could defrock Bill Johnson.
While the AG respects Bethel’s passion for evangelism and worship, they caution members to critically evaluate Bethel's teachings and practices through a biblical lens. The AG encourages discernment, focusing on sound doctrine and ensuring that all spiritual experiences are rooted in Scripture.

@@geraldbritton8118Bill grew up in AG and Bethel used to be AG. It is no longer though. His father actually was senior pastor for Bethel when it was AG.

Bill Johnson was not in the AoG, like Hillsong decided to depart from AoG because there was scriptural boundaries and discipline to hold them accountable so they decided to go there own way and we saw what happened to Hillsong when you go your own way.

You don’t know what you don’t know! Seminary is generally the most unbelieving place you can go!
