    My 2007 corolla verso 2.2 Diesel will start the first time without a problem and idle normally. After about one minute or so, a warning light will show up on the dash then after another 30 seconds, the engine cuts out.
    When the engine dies, I can restart again without a problem and the whole scenario starts over this happen until the engine warms up. once the temperature reaches 60 and the blue light goes off the car works fine the rest of the day.
    I cleaned the EGR, polished the glow plugs and tested them, put a new fuel filter, tried a working SCV from my mate's car, and did a full tank with fuel treatments.
    None of the above-mentioned worked however the car performance is much better.
    I tried to warm up the fuel rail line with a hot cloth soaked in hot water and will top it with hot water every now and then and the car did not cut off but won't drive as normal unless the engine itself is warmed up.
    Once it is warmed up it runs fine. Any idea what else could it be? Thank you

      I would suggest you take your vehicle to your nearest dealer for further diagnosis

    Thank you very much for this demonstration ! I constantly clean my Injectors with the Liqui Moly Diesel Purge (see my videos) and the return flow per injector are nearly the same.

    Excellent video presentation, very well explained. Trying to get a 2007 Nissan Qashqai with 1,5dci engine non-starter started, will do all these tests to determine where is the problem. Thank You Very Much. COMMENT All the way from Maputo/Mozambique

      Maybe you have error codes,
      You can do an obd test with an error codes reader

      i think that is manufacturer specific. on my bmw the new injectors are 1-2ccm/min and if it is greater than 10ccm/min then it is a bad injector

    On my car , all the injectors returned same values , what amazed me is that in 5 minute the return line from the rail leaked 1l of diesel , is that normal or what could be wrong as i believe it shouldn't be returning any diesel through that line ,instead flow the diesel from the injectors back into tank .
    Any suggestion?

    We had the problem the engine feld out if asking for power. Normal driving was 95 % no problem but as soon as we wanted to like overtaking a car fast, motor fail and out. Restart with in a second so no problem. With this test we noticed 1 injector had a full jar the others normal. To mutch diesel running back to the tank in that injector. Refurbished injector brought the solution and the car goes as it was new. But I do have a question. In the early days befor commonrail we use to do some petrol in the diesel to prevent from freezing in the winter. Now I am been told in common rail you must not do it it would arm the engine. Is this true? And more in the older type of dieselcars I use to do some simpel engine oil in the dieseltank before filling up the tank with diesel. Made 700 to 800 K in km with no ever problem. So what if I would do so in the common rail car?

    Unconnect supply pipe from ramp end install plug in rapm, start motor and watch on supply pipe. If you see some drops from it -injector leacking.

      Are you trying to start komatsu pc300-8 engine out chassis. Yes it can be done.if your monitor is password protected then u need to removed the monitor from the machine.then rewire .we have almost 20unit of this model.yes is commonrail engine.

    You don't show that crankshaft sensor is with 2-wires
    And camshaft sensor is with 3-wires

    and even a big BAG from the engine while is running at moderate revs. That is what you can get as well from a back leak injectors, when sendind 3-4 times as much diesel back to the diesel tank... BMW E90 M47 2 LITRES ENGINE with 300k miles on the clock, original injectors since.. 2005. All system treated with 2 stroke oil 250ml/50 litres of diesel from 250k miles. The engine never missed a start. At present day 2 injectors were rebuild.

    You can even have a really really loud BANG, like a hammer hit on a metal plate, or as you stall a diesel engine when you try to start driving.
    It happend to me while I was driving at about 30-40 miles/h, about 2000rpm..
    It was nasty and scarry bang. I found out that 2 injectors were leaking almost 3 times as much fuel as the other 2... after 300k miles on the clock with these injectors. I dismatle the tip, spray .. brake cleaner, all 6 holes clear of build up..
    Try to understand what practicall happen to get that BIG BANG to almost stall..
    The car was still running, the engine didn't stop or anything...

      From the return valve of one injector? If so then that injector is most likely bad.

    Do you have any idea why my diesel engine oil level raises? It's not the coollant, but diasel fuel got into the engine oil. Are the injectors to blame? Thanks!

      Or sticky injector, nozzel pin staying open - but you would have noticeable economy / driveability symptoms. ALSO depending on the the type of diesel engine - if its a passanger type diesel after 2007 fitted with a DPF and unlike commercial diesel. This DPF does not have an seperate injector for the DPF- it will just send extra fuel into the cylinders to reach the DPF in the exhaust stroke. Have a look into it if you are unsure.
