Totally agree with the focus to grow inward. I agree with more walk-able spaces, but I don't know anyone that really wants to walk to the grocery store. The Cemetery Road corridor would be more attractive if the connecting roads could handle the traffic and it wasn't backed up during busy times of the day. Building more dense housing along Cemetery Road would only exacerbate that problem without widening Cemetery Road and improving the infrastructure in that area. The video showed lots of cars on the road, and very few people using the trails, not sure building more is a great use of space. Trails were built, people still use the roads. I drive Main to Scioto-Darby to Cosgray multiple times per week during busy times of the day...tons of cars and nobody using the trails. The roundabouts have helped, but traffic is still a mess, and the future addition of a community center at Cosgray without more infrastructure improvements in that area is going to be a nightmare. Cookie-cutter mixed-use monstrosities aren't the answer for Hilliard.

Gotta save all that green space for more Amazon server farms.

No apartments! Single family homes are the only way to build a better community.

I've lived in Hilliard for almost 30 years. What you are proposing sounds a lot like 15 minute cities. There are huge apartment complexes planned and the Save Hilliard movement is trying to stop it. We don't need them here. We need single family housing. People who have to pay property taxes out of their own pocket usually are more concerned about the wellbeing of the community. Renters just want a cheap place to live. They have little or no commitment to the community. Someone offers them a better deal and they move.
You want more trails? Well take a door to door survey and see what percentage of the population actually use the trails. Ask the tax payers if they want to pay more taxes for more trails, etc. I don't know a single person in my neighborhood that uses the trails.
We are looking down the barrel of a recession and you want to spend more money. What does that say about your leadership?

This will be a disaster for Hilliard that’s upset a lot of residents.
