- Paul Gascoigne was the hero for Rangers as they defeated Hearts 4-3 at Parkhead. Ally McCoist had put Rangers two goals up before Steve Fulton brought Hearts back into the match by scoring just before half-time. Hearts dominated at the start of the second half and John Robertson equalised but just minutes later Gascoigne scored the first of his two goals as he won the cup for Rangers. Davie Weir scored a late consolation goal.

Neil McCann was absolutely sensational in that 2nd half. Amazed it took us a further 2 years to sign him
Pretty sure he tore us apart in the 98 Scottish cup final as well. He was a great wee player for us and I was sad to see him leave for Southampton in 03.

Gascoigne pure genius. Has a double brandy at half time then comes out and scores those two goals.

correct..Archie Knox told him to after he had a bollocking from Walter Smith...after the game the players went for a meal to celebrate and gazza wasn't allowed as he already he'd his drink! Gazza found out where they were and turned up naked!

One of the most underrated Scottish players if he was Brazilian and playing the way he did at rangers aswell in Europe he would have had alot of epl teams after him guy was class had it all as a winger and could also score you goals

Best game I have been to where Hearts have lost. Pleased we got our revenge in '98 Scottish Cup final.

Mcanns wing play looked on par with laudrup
He was head and shoulders above Laudrup that day imo. He gave us no end of problems.
His final ball wasn't the equal of Laudrup's, but he could beat people all day, and had great pace. Underrated. Maybe should have played for the national side more than he did. No wonder we bought him 😄

I get the point yous are saying about McCann but let's be honest if both were fit and playing well and just had the 1 position to be filled? Whom you gonna pick? PERSONALLY Laudrop, although says a lot about McCann that we're leaving these comments. Delighted we bought him - had a massive helping hand In soooo many important goals for us. We were spoilt for talent for so long. We quite literally built up a quality team - because we had to. But is this team no shaping up nicely 👌🏻♥️🤍💙🇬🇧✊🏻
