I would personally put 72 Seasons a little higher, but I see your point. I like the idea that 72 seasons is the first 18 years of one’s life, so the album cover ties into that with the crib and everything. Definitely one of their more creative album covers that they took a risk on.

My favorite album is Ride the lightning and I absolutely adore the cover, so simple yet effective, and i feel like it really blended well with the metallica logo because the M and A are shaped like lighting bolts, but god damn the art work for justice is so freaking good. Wished the artist did all their other albums, i thinks its one of the only times green was used on the metallica logo, i think it represents “money talking” from the title track, also noticed that lady justice has tits out as well representing she been raped, kinda dark but cool detail, not as dark some of cannibal corpses covers tho haha.
Those first 4 album covers were really great, I wish that Metallica would have continued with that style. I had heard Lars say in an interview that they moved away from that “cartoony” style intentionally to separate them from other metal bands on the record shelves. i think the cover art for St. Anger fits the album well, simple but filled with rage, the burnt bed in 72 Seasons kind of reminds me of Imaginations from the Other Side back art

I understand buddy, I’m old enough to remember a time when you couldn’t sample music before you bought the album. The album artwork was the only way to determine which type of band it was. I would've liked to see the 72 seasons art have the full Metallica logo on it instead of the Minimalistic M they use now. I like the concept of the cover and I really enjoy use of the yellow, cause I think it really goes with the theme of the songs and it's not used alot, but it feels so empty on top. Plus, the most iconic part of Metallica is their big ass logo and how dominant it looks. The single M looks great but it's not good for a cover, only for smaller merch items like pins or shirts.

Metallica needs to hire one of the artists who do Mastodon's covers. All brilliant. That said, I do like when some bands put out questionable album covers like Dark throne, because they are having fun with it. But Metallica need to go back to epic album covers and get off this "art" kick.

I mean the original Metallica logo would look terrible on the Load and ReLoad covers besides it wouldn't make sense having the stylistically metal logo on an album that had a completely different sound.
I definitely agree that the classic logo wouldn’t look right on Load or Reload, stylistically I don’t think that those albums are as different as a lot of people make them out to be. Pitch Yellow background is not what i would like to wear in a metal T-Shirt for sure, they could have went with a gradient Yellowish obscurity for the background and it could have provided more suspense to the cover art.

i thought load was fuel sloshing around some enclosure (perhaps a cylinder or maybe even a gas can?) and reload was said fuel combusting in a cylinder. i wish it was that instead.

The 3D tombstone in the CD booklet is cool, but it was executed poorly: I can't read the lyrics because there's a giant hole on each page!) 5. Reload 6. Load (always thought it was kind of cool) 7. St. Anger Meh: 8. Metallica (iconic, but very boring) 9. Kill ‘em All (looks like a bad photoshop) 10. 72 seasons (doesn’t scream Metallica; not digging the yellow) 11. Load and Reload easily the worst ones, also the fact that the logo was changed was big huge mistake, totally agree on that. I don’t think the classic Metallica logo fits those albums either though.. in that case you just present a simple METALLICA and that’s it, no reason to change the logo.
As a fellow Metallica fan, I don’t think you have any clue what you’re talking about. How can you put death magnetic in Saint anger, overload and reload and garage Inc. Those albums are great albums and I have no problem with the design but Saint anger’s album design was awful. The music was worse. And death magnetic was a decent album but the music was not all there in the album cover wasn’t that great. So overall, I completely disagree with you. And the Saint anger album is an awful design. How are you? Don’t like the Black album also confuses me.

I would've liked to see the 72 seasons art have the full Metallica logo on it instead of the Minimalistic M they use now. I like the concept of the cover and I really enjoy use of the yellow, cause I think it really goes with the theme of the songs and it's not used alot, but it feels so empty on top.
Plus, the most iconic part of Metallica is their big ass logo and how dominant it looks. The single M looks great but it's not good for a cover, only for smaller merch items like pins or shirts.

Metallica needs to hire one of the artists who do Mastodon's covers. All brilliant. That said, I do like when some bands put out questionable album covers like Dark throne, because they are having fun with it. But Metallica need to go back to epic album covers and get off this "art" kick.

I mean the original Metallica logo would look terrible on the Load and ReLoad covers besides it wouldn't make sense having the stylistically metal logo on an album that had a completely different sound.
I definitely agree that the classic logo wouldn’t look right on Load or Reload, stylistically I don’t think that those albums are as different as a lot of people make them out to be. For whom the bell tolls, Harvester of sorrow or Frayed ends of sanity would have sounded right at home on either of the albums. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!

Pitch Yellow background is not what i would like to wear in a metal T-Shirt for sure, they could have went with a gradient Yellowish obscurity for the background and it could have provided more suspense to the cover art.

Load and Reload easily the worst ones, also the fact that the logo was changed was big huge mistake, totally agree on that. I don’t think the classic Metallica logo fits those albums either though.. in that case you just present a simple METALLICA and that’s it, no reason to change the logo.

As a fellow Metallica fan, I don’t think you have any clue what you’re talking about. How can you put death magnetic in Saint anger, overload and reload and garage Inc. Those albums are great albums and I have no problem with the design but Saint anger’s album design was awful. The music was worse. And death magnetic was a decent album but the music was not all there in the album cover wasn’t that great. So overall, I completely disagree with you. And the Saint anger album is an awful design. How are you? Don’t like the Black album also confuses me.
