When you buy corals at a convention, do you usually fly back the same day or the next day? How do you protect the coral post-convention overnight if you're not flying back the same day?
Great question- softies n lps typically can do ok in a temperature controlled climate- i personally would keep them in separate containers in case one has issues. Sps I wouldn’t take the risk LOL do able but risky
I took a train to the MACNA in New Orleans a few years back. I had no idea just how slow the train would be, so I ended up not getting back home until 10pm the next day. Everything made it just fine though, so that's given me a lot of comfort about picking up corals whenever I travel (even if I'm not getting back until the following day). I'll bring my own cooler, and then I'll also try to mention the length of time the corals will be out to the shop owner/vendor so that they can add water or package how they see fit. I don't think I'd risk a $500 SPS with this, but 90% of corals you're not going to have a problem with.
Great collection! Very cool. 😎
