I first sang this as a member of the Chapel Choir of Royal Holloway College in the 1980s under Dr Lionel Pike as director. I loved it so much that I sang it, with my then choir, at my own wedding. Thank you for my happy memories.
And another blessing: They did not feel that they needed to "Get Through This" to get on with Evensong. The tempo was much nicer (read slower) than all other renditions, which seem to see the Mag and Nunc as a necessary 'thing' to be got over and done with...Thank you all!!
in re the Nunc: (although recorded 2 years later and with some little recording problems - overlook them) and the baritone is wonderful! ua-cam.com/video/Z1CMtP6ED5I/v-deo.html

Super! May we hear the Nunc, too? If the baritone soloist is as good as the soprano, it'll be a treat.

At the risk of being labeled a heathen, I prefer this soprano to a boys' choir. Splendidly done. Gorgeous!
@@vapaus831 Really? have you evidence for that, which was a surprise to me!
YOU FIEND, YOU HEATHEN!!! (I’m joking of course, I disagree, but that might be because I’m a boy chorister.)
@@historyfan0651 🤣 Brilliant!
@@historyfan0651 And Carry On!
@@historyfan0651 He had to write that... it's his girlfriend singing the solo! 😁😁😁 (And for a girl she does a very good job of it too!) 😉🤣
