At least we(Denmark) went out with a hard fought game. Finland was always gonna be a mountain to big to climb but we made them work for it. 0-0 after 2 periods is pretty good and then Finland stepped it up a notch in the third, but we went out putting up a good fight.

This was actually one of the best games so far this year. A lot of great saves, a lot of missed scoring opportunities and 2 discarded goals. This game could have ended like 5-6 or 7-7

Even though it suits Finland to play the underdog something is missing this year. Defence looks ok but point production is missing out.
They will probably meet Sweden and will have to step up now or go home
as a latvian, its sad that denmark lost composure at 3rd period because they were doing really good againt fins but im disappointed in fins as they struggled for 2 periods.Good job denmark hopefully next year ul get in quarters.

@@dreamthedream8929 I want to see a tournament where teams like Austria,Denmark,Poland and latvia just dominate the entire tournament I want underdogs to experience succes in hockey.
@@totallyme5680 well there may be reasons for why they are at a lower level. there may be reasons why chechia or finland are usually so strong in hockey. its not about the population. otherwise finland and chechia could never play against russia or usa, countries with huge populations. but we know that they are evenly matched with those countries. the reasons for success are found somewhere else. i dont know what they are. those countries have been strong in hockey for a long time. perhaps for others it takes time to develop it and the success will become more and more evident like latvia and denmark. i also dont know the reason why norway in hockey is not as strong as their neighbours. finland and sweden is usually expected to win against norway. however also norway is stronger than france or italy. perhaps norway could be at the same level more or less as denmark
@@dreamthedream8929 biggest reason is the funding for these countries it's very small for hockey and not alot of new players join therefore it's tough.

If fins wont play better, switz can beat them, they are really good this year. It would be crazy to see austria in quartfinals, but playing against sweden i think fins are the best opponents for them.

This might be the weakest team I've ever seen from Finland in this tournament.
For some reason even in Finnish media nobody seems to want to talk about the fact that this team is not just underperforming, it's a de facto weak lineup even on paper.
I mean last year was pretty much as weak
Even when Finland doesn't have their best players in this tournament they should qualify with these european league top players

This has been a historically bad year for the finns, and me saying that might sound like an insult to more minor countries in hockey. But its still true.

The last 30 years Finland has been a good hockey nation and the last 10 years it's literally been a title contender, Finland would have no issues beating Austria, Denmark in the last 20 years or so... so yes it absolutely has been wtf are you talking about

As a Finn have to say. We dont have our best team in this year, but i have feelings we get our team together and chemistry start working better and better. Finland have won this tournament with even with league players. So its not always about that who have most NHL players or famous players. They get usually their spark when playoffs start.

Hats off to the denmark. It's good to see how countries have advanced trough the years. Next let's take ice hockey at africa and in 20 years we might see good african ice hockey team.

Finland didn't got many NHL-players this year because most of them were in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Finland played very well against Canada, even though lost eventually. For some reason they are not trying enough against "weak" hockey nations. It's time to get things done. Finland is currently close 2nd in the IIHF-rankings but they will drop to 3rd if they're gonna mess up this tournament.
Lucky escape for Finland. That first goal looked fine.
Pretty clear goalie interference by this tournament's refereeing.

Lucky escape for Denmark. The Finns got almost identical goal if you watched the game. Even the Swedish experts said it was a good goal and they were amazed the Finns didn't challenge it.
I only saw the highlights so I am guilty of being ignorant about a goal by Finland being canceled.

Denmark play good but FIN became "mad"from their goal Is army a sickness to FIN-players little too fast playing[(cameraman and no-one in the world didn't see their playing because FIN-cameramen are as in earthquakes
Finland had so many "new" players like "Räsmys Risanen" or "Jesi Phuljujãrvi". I am just a normal person who likes to watch sports sometimes sport but I still know the athletes' names. I would never call Wayne Gretzky "Vaine kretsky".

Many people would not take it seriously. You goy my point, or? If you want people yo take you seriously and appreciate your skills, do your job as good as you can. I had a chat today with some Polish people. We spoke about skispringers, and after I mentioned them, Adam Malysz, pronounced correctly, they were positive, surprised how I knew that. Over 20 years ago, one of my Polish friends advised me how to pronounce his name, and it did not take more effort. If I, as a random dude, can do that, why not someone else who does it professionally? I hope you understand my point.
Finns aint showing like they deserve to go further. It gets harder now and i hope they can find the team spirit

I'd rather watch GB lose 10-0 than watch this Finland team play hockey. They used to be so technical and with incredible skaters. I remember this trio S.Kapanen-S.Koivu-T.Selänne.
Do you know that Finland has the strongest generation of all time? But none of them are on the team (hardly any top NHL players have been there in the past either). How can you draw such conclusions from a completely undermanned Finnish team that doesn't even have the best European players?
@@torheim75 2019's Finland team was considered to be one of the worst ever yet they still played at a good level, this team on the other hand might actually be one of the worst finnish WC teams ever.

even when finnish hockey under jalonen is successful, its boring-slow-passive-delayed-trap-hockey. finland needs to adress that no NHL players wants to come a play this boring style.. regardless of how effective jukka jalonen has been of eeking out results from these non-best-on-best tournaments. get real finland.

@@tommytowner792 Finland hasn't won a top team since 2022, last year we almost lost to Germany and even France was able to shock us. I guess we don't need to talk about this year. The only ridiculous thing here is to claim there is no need for a change.

as a finn, watching a team like denmark trying to overcome our stationary neutral zone blueline trap... a finnish wall of blue jerseys, good luck - but not going to happen. good game by finland, dominating win. denmark gets a participation prize and a free lecture in how hockey is played. next game for finland, switzerland. and then QF begins...
