Getting Started with Blended Learning

Mr. Younts, a history teacher at Barton Middle School, shares a lesson that is a great baseline for starting a blended learning model implementation. You will see established routines and examples of some strategies that will help his students successfully make the shift to a station rotation and accept greater agency in their learning process. Mr. Younts offers students more choices in how they learn material and how they demonstrate knowledge. He is also leveraging technology to add in some functions that increase differentiation for learning needs. At the core of every implementation, it is important to build student capacity for independent learning in stations. From there, teachers can gradually increase choices, personalization and the agency students have.
