EDIT: IMPORTANT: I made a mistake: Yangyang grants 20 Ultimate Energy to the next character taking the field (4 per sec for 5 sec)! This obviously makes her a bit of a better pick for Jiyan, though the other points still stand.

When you mentioned the 'why' on team building, I immediately subscribed! I appreciate that a lot since now I don't have to just keep on copying team builds and only learning on my own later on as to why they go so well! Keep up the amazing work!

3:09 just like Genshin! For early players it's a waste of resources to 80-90 when you can do a whole other character 1-70, and crowning talents is muuuuuuuch more expensive than 1-7 or 1-8. Though that doesn't stop many of them for getting their travelers to lv 90 and then running out of resources 😆
to be fair it would be a waste to build a new character to 70 when u dont even care for them or the playstyle as it more or less depends who your favs are

Great guide especially for making a wise decision on early game. I pre-registered my 10 accounts and will do a reroll to get Jiyan (on event banner) + Calcharo (beginner's banner), so I can use them as my main dps on different team on endgame content (and they're husbando).
Or if I'm not lucky enough getting them on my 10 accs, Jiyan + Verina was fine too.
10 accounts? Holy crap. Also I am sure you don't need to reroll your Beginner Banner and can simply select Calcharo - I have had dreams.
I'm so tempted to do husbando... but I've been burned way too many times trying to do husbando accounts in gacha games 😢except nu carnival... but yeah lol

Great guide! But Yinlin really is a subdps. If you look into her numbers, she really doesn't gain any benefit from maindpsing, she really just wants to dish out quick bursts of dmg and buff your main carry (Calcharo in this case) as much as possible. They're such a good main dps - sub dps duo.
Same for Sanhua :)
Yinlin takes too much field-time for her combo, just as Calcharo does, to be a subDPS (also she does way more damage than him in the same time if she stays on-field AND is the best ST and AOE DPS in the game). Technically you CAN use her as subDPS, but you can also use Calcharo as subDPS for the same reason. Though I guess, Yinlin at least does procc while off-field. Yinlins best team is actually not using Calcharo and instead going Yinlin+Yuanwu+Verina.
@@iamrivenous hmmm so two versatile DPS/SUB and a busted Healer, looks solid. The only problem with Yuanwu is the def scaling so he wont benefit from most of Verina buffs, but it's still usable.
@@Gheniel_ I mean if you mostly care about holograms, Danjin is the best Team. Like solo, adding any teammate makes her worse lol. Yuanwu is good BECAUSE he is def scaling. It is a great way (early into the game) to use your DEF echoes since you wont have enough good atk/dmg%/crit ones to build calcharo AND yinlin. That is the main reason why yuanwu is better early on until he gets outscaled. Also he's free

16:15 You forgot another thing, she give concerto energy (which enables outro and intro skill or QTE once it's full) to the whole team with her forte cicuit. Shes really broken and people saying shes Qiqi or Bailu dont understand, Verina isn't the same as those
Good point, yes! Thanks! Verina is what happens when you take bennet, bailu, luocha E1 and add a concerto tingyun on top while also having numby by your side. She will not be replaced anytime soon
Verina is the most broken character of the 5* standards

Qiqi and Bailu were totally broken... When Genshin and HSR first came out. in HSR you literally only had Bailu or Natasha for healer and you needed 2 teams. Genshin had the same issue as the only healers were Qiqi, Jean, and Barbara... and you were only guaranteed Barbara.

I really like Jianxin's design but I heard she was underpowered in the CBT2, in the dev notes kuro games said she and Lingyang will receive buffs, hopefully they turn out good when the game finally releases.

Regen, is short for regeneration, and the g is pronounced like a soft g sound like the words gym/giraffe/giant. In another video you said the word abyss from genshin, the emphasis for abyss is the second syllable: uh-BYSS.
Anyway, I love how much info you pack into your vid. Will be very helpful when the game releases!
Finally I get to know why Verina is op, every cc I watched just says she heals and buffs, she's op get her.. On the other hand, I really like Jianxin but her kit just slows/breaks the combos and she's just sitting there with a long animation and the shield is not that big too
Having the only undiluted damage amplify in the game is pretty nuts. Didn't like Jianxin that much myself, but apparently she's getting some slight changes

Then I rewatched that section and then you said "She shields your team based on her attack"...
Shes not going anywhere in the meta for a LONG time.
Damage, buffer, mitigation and sustain all in one... thats absolutely insane dude.
Verina has a built-in a prevent death, which will shield the ally which was about to die. It's fine, especially for more casual players.

i would like to say Rover is main dps for now cuz there only 2 spectro unit right now and verina is a support . And according to the beta she do better damage than most 4 star like (sanhua that u meantioned ,lose to danjin tho ) in early game . But yes when we have an actual spectro dps rover gonna be good sub-dps due to her outro skill that slow mo enemy .
Rover is more of a subDPS due to her damage being 54% from Forte/skill and shredding spectro res (s6) and providing healing (4). Also Rover dps cannot compare to quite a few others and if she isnt dealing the most damage in the team she aint the main dps. if all your other units do less damage tho, I guess she is
Yeah her skill is more sup but for early she can be one of the main dps as i said , and also u need multiple team anyway.
Yinglin you say is a main DPS but works really well with Calcharo, does that mean than a team of both + Verina is still probably the best option for her, isn't it?

You, Sir, just caught a mistake. The info I have had was outdated, it's 20 Ultimate Energy. Much appreciated!
Considering how hard it will be to get decent 3* echoes with the right substats until a few months have passed, a 4/4/1/1/1 loadout could work as a stand-in until you farm enough of the elite mobs that drop 3* echoes (there's only like 20 of them in each world so...)
for most characters the elemental dmg % is more important than the substats
I wish there was an option do decrease levels of resonators or something like this ngl

I have jiyan and verina from pure luck. 5 star selector releasing in two days and twenty limited banner pulls. I have no weapons for jiyan since I burned my 4 star weapon selector but I do have his bis teammate: martefi. So, should I save for yinlin and select calcharo w/ the selector or should I pull on jiyan weapon banner?

So, based on the game play and the way things just work, I’m pretty sure youre supposed to level all your characters as much as you can depending on your world level? Right now I get 2 cores. However to ascend twice you need 9 cores from bosses. The problem is the fact that since 3 is an odd number, I’m ALWAYS left with needing a SINGLE core. Which forces me to have to wait 6 hours just for ONE friggin core. Idk if its ocd but this fact makes me so mad, it’s wasting my time and I know I’ll have to do this every single time I level someone. Also because it reminds me of how genshin was always trying to low us. However even genshin allowed us to “get lucky” and get 3 boss material instead. If I don’t hurry up and get rank 40 I’m going to go insane.
What's your opinion on the MC? Do you think they have long-term viability or will they be forgotten quickly and replaced by other characters?
The Spectro-MC seem like a good subDPS/support for spectro main dps. Unfortunately we dont have any yet.
@iamrivenous definitely a weird choice for them to do that. Hopefully we'll see some good ones post release
@@jesseperkins9669 I've seen some speculation that Jinshi will be a Spectro damage dealer based on her animations, and given that she has been prominently featured on promotional material, there is a high hlikelyhood she will become playable sooner rather than later. (Possibly 1.1?)
@@iamrivenous Btw, why would they be a good sub-DPS for a spectro main DPS, specifically? At least reading their skills on Prydwen, they don't seem to have a particular synergy with other spectro characters... Do you mean to say "they are a good Sub DPS if the enemy has a Spectro damage weakness", or is there something in their kit that makes them synergyze well with Spectro DPS exclusively?
(The prydwen page contains no information about dupes. Could they have a dupe that infuses spectro damage weakness on enemies or something?)

About echoes... Everyone has been going on about how you can get them for free fighting enemies... But the only echoes that matter in the end are the ones from the bosses... But from what i understand here, bosses are stamina locked.
So the echos that matter are not free at all!

I havent been very clear about this, I apologize! There are 1,3 and 4 cost echoes. 1 and 3 cost are drops from normal and elite enemies respectively. 4 Cost Echoes are drops from World Bosses. You can always farm all three types of echoes for free, just if you want to claim the REWARDS from the bosses you have to pay your stamina

Is it really on-fielder = main DPS?? There are no options for off-field main DPS? Or for quickswap team with no clear main DPS? For an on-fielder that is a driver and even more focused on sustain? If that's the case... that would be very restrictive for team building. In Genshin all options are on the table. Not rarely Genshin players also think that on-fielder = main DPS and well, they have no idea what game they are playing.
Teambuilding is very lenient in this game. I just need SOME kind of categories. If a character requires less time and possibly has off-field dmg, its a subDPS, if it requires high onfield time, it is a mainDPS. Doesn't mean you cant play 2 main DPS and 1 support. Good example here being Calcharo+Yinlin+Verina. Somewhere down the comments I also made an example including some TC, but I dont know where it is.
TLDR, until the community has a census on what "mainDPS" and "subDPS" actually means, many opinions will clash in misunderstandings.
@@iamrivenous ?? So you just mean on-fielder? If so, why you don't tell... on-fielder? And what do you mean about consensus on the meaning... those terms are clear. Main DPS is a character that deals majority of the damage of the team. Sub DPS - one that deals substantial portion of team damage, but less than main DPS. All those terms are clear as day and you don't have to wait for anything. It's the opposite, it's just adding confusion if you attach different meaning to terms like 'on-fielder' or 'main DPS' than what literally they are telling. It's the same confusion as in Genshin community, where many players use term 'main DPS' for an on-fielder what is just ridiculously wrong.

That was my point, sorry if I have not expressed that clearly (obviously duh). The Problem arises when two characters deal such similar damage that they cannot be classified as sub or main dps, but both are main or sub, depending on their teammates.

Well depends on if you want to farm every single enemy in the entire overworld and how many friends you have..? You can literally farm infinitely that way
@@iamrivenous Thanks for the response. I want to avoid playing more than an hour if at all possible. I used to play EverQuest, WoW etc, and I need to be able to get things done sooner rather than later.
@@AKBARTHEBUFFMASTER Daily Tasks & Stamina spending are done rather fast, but farming echoes can take a while. But that depends on how much you want to farm. You can go 10 minuites or an hour a day. Or also 10 if you have enough friends

As I said in the video, the most important part is to spend them. If you have bosses unlocked, they are probably the better investment very early on, if not, sure spend it on the Sim Training

Why do you need resonators? Edit: ohhh every character is called resonator i think im confusing weapon types. I thought the character that use that weapon. Like no swords, fists, pistols.

Certain enemies have resistances, yes

Binging WuWa content now, just some feedback that 1:11 is just really boring. It could probably be taken out and substituted for a bit more signposting in the actual parts, or it can be written in prose

Of course it’s not locked in, they wouldn’t make the choice for a main character an external event that most people who will play on release didn’t even know happened. For example what will happen to people who didn’t pre register when they play the game for the first time, would they be screwed because they didn’t do the event? No, the choice is not locked in.

as of cbt2 ad infinitum, 1 world per friend every 24 hours
sanhua is main dps not sub dps? the only list i saw put her as sub dps but i don't find any sites that really has their detailed atk kits only very simple 1line versions so impossible to tell from that what they are (since shes guaranteed and im f2p is good to have upfront comps in mind at least 1 or 2 and then rig a 3rd on on the fly from what i get from pulls)
Most TCs I have discussed with so far also would classify her more of a mainDPS than subDPS (in the traditional sense, those terms dont really work well in wuwa anyway, but that's a different topic). However, she can certainly also work as a secondary DPS.
So earlier its better we build 3 dps to lvl 80 but sub dps and support at level 1?
Or we build 1 team first with lvl 80 dps and others at lvl 60?
And who are the recommended DPS to build at earlier?
Second, 3 dps to 80 ascended, subs&supps at 60 or 70 ascended. Take any maindps you like. Personally jiyan, yinlin ate great but not guaranteed.
By you saying Yinlin is main DPS, you ruin my perfect early plan 😂 I am gonna wait for further analysis but in your opinion is Yinlin still perfect as sub-DPS?
She is the best main DPS in the game and beats out every other character in the game DPS-wise single target and aoe. so... you can use her as a subDPS, sure, but you will lose out on damage. yinlin+yuanwu+verina seems very good rn. However, she works as subDPS as she can at least procc her marks, but she's better used as on-fielder.
This guy is wrong. Yinlin is best as sub dps for calcharo. Danjin had the highest dps in cbt 2

@@Novatarii Yinlin might be viable as a secondary main DPS with calcharo, but she is by no means a subDPS. She takes around 18 seconds of field-time for her rotation and her skill also literally requires her to be on-field and basic attack to procc Electromagnetic Blast.

The next character (or other characters on a nearby team that activates an Outro Skill) gains 20% Electro DMG Deepen and 25% Resonance Liberation DMG Deepen for 14s, or until the character is switched off field. If she was pure dps she would not have had this skill, therefore she is a sub dps.

He does off-field damage, means he doesnt take a lot of time and can deal damage while not on the field

By your definition specifically, it seems like yinlin is a subdps. Your why yinlin isn't a subdps video supports that she is a subdps by the definition you gave here.

Verina is an instant click if you care about meta. She will not be replaced anytime soon and there are multiple great DPS chars out there for you to use. If you don't care about meta go for whomever you like.
Character Guides will follow AFTER the game is released. It is, for me currently, NOT possible to make 100% correct theorycrafting as frames might have changed since the last cbt2.
But I will make some priority tierlist before the release, yea.

agree, i've decided to be a lot more strict with myself unlike previous gacha games so i'm not disappointed with who i pull. meta and convincing myself i like a character only leads me to regret. only cute characters for me and no male characters.😁

nope, verinas multiplier specifically is undiluted, which basically means it is applied after all other calculations. Its also the only one in the game rn.

Mhh I think the best approach for you, as someone who plays a gacha for the first time, is to just enjoy the game. Focus on units you like instead of meta, there is no online competition. If you do care, characters on the Rate-Up Banner will usually very strong and are a good pick. You get 240 waveplates ("stamina") per day, it is a resource which you need to spend to progress your characters, as a means of the game to have you log in every day. Just make sure you spend them, that is the most important thing.
