Just watched this video as well @ErikJohnston. It was really well done: a nice walkaround of the plane that could not have been more complete. Some minor, unimportant things: - Maybe keep other bystanders away next time. It did not bother me, but it will distract some other people. - Some things could've been speed up a bit, for example the part where the cameraman filmed the left wing. But those are very minor: all in all it was a 9,5/10 video. Very informative!
As a complete novice to aviation and big fan of the Honda Jet, I really enjoyed the exterior walk around and can't wait for the interior. Excellent Job :-)
Another enjoyable video. Was hoping to see the interior. I was surprised to see the engine isn't actually centre on the pylon. I saw a HondaJet go over my house a few weeks ago at FL410. Wow, it was like a very small dot with a pencil line trail.
That's a pretty dam advanced jet for as small as it is, the auto de-ice and lighting systems and with a max of FL430 is pretty dam neat. All in all a very impressive jet.
Awesome walk thorough, +John DeLawyer! I can hardly wait for the planned walk thorough of the interior main cabin and flight deck areas. Happy New Years too All! P.S. Kudos to +ErikJohnston Be Well, Ben G. / NYC
Arkensol I am participating in an official Google program called "Google+ Create". One perk is a verified check mark. The reason I was invited is that I own the Gazing Skyward TV page on Google+. It is the largest aviation page on Google+.
Super Job! I would like to see the same level of quality for the interior (part 2 maybe...very nice fella with good people skills). But non the less, super job!
Anthony Propst Thanks Anthony. We do plan on making another video showing the interior and cockpit checkout. We just have to get out schedules to match up.
Great review! I didn't know that there are also jet reviews/presentations like by the cars... 😃 One morning I decide and go to buy the plane this way... 😂
One of the best small aircraft designs. Great flight experience. It was made for people traveling without baggage, (Only Business fast trips). I just hope this baby doesn't have the same Nav Pannel concept that the CRV . (It's a joke) Ha..!
I should add to that they also think different. When you look at their cars they were some of the first to create the small engine affordable cars and did some really different things with the creation of Vtec and the likes.
I'm not saying this as a bad thing because most jets have vortex generators, but when the engineers add vortex generators, it's because during flight testing, they couldn't get the needed aerodynamic response they were looking for. So, often, adding vortex generators gets them there. On this jet, they needed them on the winglets and horizontal tail.
I've been following this jet since they acquired their hanger in Greensboro. They sure built an unconventional aircraft!!! Wonder if they consulted with Mr Rutan for the design??? Glad they are building it here in NC, we need to be contributing more to aviation than just the location of the first flight!!! Nice video Mr Johnston, any chance of a look inside??? Have a great Thanksgiving 0:-)
Beautiful plane, the only flaw I can see is how tight it is to load baggage. It was tight just standing for that guy imagine having to bend over and load in luggage.
Great intro vid to the Hondajet, Erik. liked & subbed - I first noticed your channel when I watched the Avanti walkaround (another great little aeroplane). A question about the Honda: What happens if you forget to refit the scissor link on the nosewheel? Is there a cockpit warning for that?
TachyonDriver I'm not sure if you get a cockpit warning but you wouldn't be able to steer the plane on the ground for sure. Unless it can be done with differential braking
Ralph Freshour What do you mean?? This was not a preflight video. This is a detailed walkaround video to explain the jet to you. A preflight would be just a few minutes
Chris Deleon 1 Pilot 1 Co-pilot (or 1 passenger when there is no copilot required) 1 Passenger in the jump seat (across from the entrance) 4 Passengers in the main cabin area.
Hi KRB, what I meant to say was no hydraulic flight controls. The hydraulic system runs the landing gear, nosewheel steering, anti-skid brakes and emergency/parking brake.
seriously that was the best exterior Hondajet product description video I have seen so far. Well Done.
Excellent presentation, interesting and crystal clear explanations, the right timing for everything to know. So many Thanks for your great vid 👍👍👍👏👍👍👍
This. Was. Awesome! Please do one just as thorough for the interior, and then another one for the cockpit! Thanks!
Mike Kobb That's what we would like to do Mike. We just have to get out schedules to match up again, but it will happen one of these days

What a marvel. Japanese engineering is first-rate. Good video presentation, thank you.
They're great at optimizing things.
Wow very great presentation. Very smooth and clear.
An excellent walkaround! Worth every minute.
Very cool plane. This is on my holiday wish list
Interesting walk around... thanks! That pylon design is pretty interesting.
Very good Detail Explanations from the Outside of the plane.
I love this walk around
very professional. i love the way you present this jet.

The Disabled Gamer that's what I was thinking too
Thanks for the walk around. It seems honda builds jets much like their cars. Practical and reliable. Looking forward to the cockpit tour!
Really that was awesome illustration of hondajet.
Great stuff! As promised. Thank you very much!!

Be Well,

Great video, thanks for sharing! I've never heard of steer-by-wire before; I don't even know if Airbus has it on any of their planes. Cool stuff!
Nice Honda Jet!
This video fits in perfecting with my content schedule. The first flight of the HondaJet was on Dec. 3rd, 2003....
John Chvatal Haha very cool, I didn't know it's first flight was around this time. That worked out pretty good.

Very nice man!

A beautiful aircraft.

Very nice review…
Well I'm very happy with my Honda civic so I'm sure they did a great job with their plane.
I would like to take a ride in the Honda Jet I am impressed
One day baby! One day!!!

Good video 👍-up.
Awesome , thank you. Please make one for inside of hondajet (cabin)

Brian W John and I are planning on shooting the interior and cockpit at some time. We wanted to that day but ran out of sunlight.
impressive airplane
Nice done vid. Kindly do one for the new elite version also.
When are we going to see the interior cabin?
Beautiful plane, the only flaw I can see is how tight it is to load baggage. It was tight just standing for that guy imagine having to bend over and load in luggage.
like you could afford one?
Yeah I got rid of mine because of the luggage access.
That external power outlet, is that where you hook up the APU ?
That’s where you hook up the GPU, Ground Power Unit
I really likes its wine red color. wah.. beautiful.
Electric aileron trim on the yoke? So there is a 4-way trim switch on the yokes?
Great intro vid to the Hondajet, Erik. liked & subbed - I first noticed your channel when I watched the Avanti walkaround (another great little aeroplane). A question about the Honda: What happens if you forget to refit the scissor link on the nosewheel? Is there a cockpit warning for that?

Excellent coverage despite the noisy chopper.
great video. what about the interior?
I wonder how those wing mounted engines affect OEI operations
Was hoping to see the interior as well 😐
My concern would be with the APU port placement. I can practically see a line guy's baseball cap going through the inlet of the number two engine.
The Honda Jet has no APU (Auxiliary Power Unit). You're referring to the External Power Receptacle.
Well done! I hope i can fly it in a scheduled service. Please advise me if you know any opportunity. Worldwide.
how about seats? what set up do they offer??
Why did you do the preflight backwards? Did anyone else notice that?
Ralph Freshour
What do you mean?? This was not a preflight video. This is a detailed walkaround video to explain the jet to you. A preflight would be just a few minutes
With old gopro??
I read that the Honda Jet is very noisy in flight due to the fuselage being polymer instead of aluminum.
You heard wrong.
I want one!
Well played Japan...well played.
Just an FYI, several other aircraft types have the smart probes so not so unique to HondaJet
The best thing is that v-tech noise from the engines
When he touched the Pitot tube I was like I hope he doesn't burn his hand.
what about engine failure ??
Thx
I'd totally buy one if I made about 5,000,000 dollars more per year
He forgot to mention that the wings are actually one single piece going through the body of the plane. Regardless, nice video. :)
Since it's a Honda can I get a $199/month lease?
How does it fit 7 people?
Chris Deleon
1 Pilot
1 Co-pilot (or 1 passenger when there is no copilot required)
1 Passenger in the jump seat (across from the entrance)
4 Passengers in the main cabin area.
Ada berapa jumlah Honda jet.
I am sorry I did not hear about fuel and range ?
No hydraulics, that's interesting.
Hi KRB, what I meant to say was no hydraulic flight controls. The hydraulic system runs the landing gear, nosewheel steering, anti-skid brakes and emergency/parking brake.
Noice!
Nice video but you forgot to include fuel and range and interior and cockpit presentations.
Nob1e Hunter
Nope, didn’t forget. Ran out of light.
This is the only Honda I like I wish I had one😭😭😭
sounds like a honda car salesman selling a plane
great vid, too bad about the helicopter noise.
Too bad you can’t get somewhere without the noise in the background
if honda jet is worth of 5million usd then the equevalent of this to philippine peso is 270,000,000. not bad
Smart Probe is not unique to the Honda Jet. Embraer Phenom 300s have smart probes as well.
Nothing about the inside cabin, which I am sure is four-tight, in this fail.
Fuel or is it just a hoax!
Awesome jet. Pretty ugly, but awesome nonetheless. If I had the money I'd buy one.
HDaviator
Which light jet would you say is prettier then?
wrong lens
This aircrafts call sign could literally say
420 Just Blaze
Lol
Where's the TOILET?????
It's in the back. The seat is belted. There is also a sink and skylight.
Ready to throw up if you say HondaJet or feature one more time. You had to film this with a chopper right overhead? Good grief!
