It's pathetic that most of the people you interview are smarter & seemingly better than the average person I know. It's actually remarkable how highly intelligent most homeless people are, so thanks to you & others like you, we now know homelessness doesn't have anything to do with intelligence.

    • @MrWhite-pn7ui
      @MrWhite-pn7ui 6 років тому +9

If they were so intelligent they wouldn't have lived so close to the edge that simply losing a job would quickly lead to homelessness and no chance of recovery. There's almost always more to these stories then they're letting on.

Mr. White Yes, that's true.. there is always a backstory but that doesn't always make these people unworthy, it makes them human. At the very least, 100% of homeless people have some level of mental health trouble. The healthcare system and field of psychiatry is a total mess kind of like government politics and the increasing prison population our taxes are supporting. As a nation, we don't take care of our own families or our communities enough. We are too busy judging instead of caring. Sure, people do fall and make huge mistakes that brings this upon themselves. Yet some really are victims of tough circumstances out of their control. I don't want to be one to kick a horse when its down, it's ignorant and solves nothing. It also goes against what a healthy community really consists of. This homeless epidemic is yet another red flag that our country is in trouble and needs social reform.

+Poopoo Papa And there it is. All this phony compassion is just a front put on by libtards so they can usher in european-style socialism. God forbid Americans embrace the concept of personal responsibility which allowed this nation to grow into the world's number one superpower. You can go to hell.

People can be exploited by people that they love. Trust have led many people down very dark paths. Not saying it is her story, but there are plenty of them. And even the most intelligent among us have went that way. Murder out of jealousy and over money, you name it. All because they ended up with a person with very sinister sides.

I had a lot of people look surprised that I had a phone.
People seem to not realize you weren't always homeless. At one point you had a job and a normal life.
And phones aren't that expensive. You can get a decent smartphone at Target for $40. I've bought them for the homeless out if pocket.
Service on it can be as cheap as 30 a month. For 60 you get unlimited data.
So basically for as little as $100 you can have a smartphone with unlimited data. If a homeless person saves up, they can get it.
I know many homeless folks who have phones. And I intend to expand that number in my area. :)

It's *EXTREMELY* difficult for me to see someone going from I.T. to being homeless involuntarily for lengthy periods of time. I.T. is an insanely large and very very broad field with lots and lots of opportunities to branch into. People just get intimidated to learn new stuff. 6 months is all you need to put your mind into it, to study and get the bottom CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Security+ certification. In a low cost economy that could start you off at $35,000-$40,000/year. Work your way up from that. Prove yourself consistent to your employer and work hard for that pay raise....BUT YOU HAVE TO WORK!!!! Your climb to success won't be overnight!! As time goes by branch off into Systems Administration or Network Engineering for the bigger bucks. AND...don't forget to improve your social skills in the work environment. Its a very crucial skill to have in the I.T. field that gets overlooked too often.

I have met homeless IT people in my city, Atlanta. In fact, one homeless person I met fixed my cell phone, and gave me a lesson in just what the Cloud was ( a new concept at the time) after I brought him some hand warmers. He had experience building internet systems in developing countries.
It really doesn't matter how able one is or how intelligent one is---- once access to shelter is lost, everything else falls away. One is left naked and alone in the concrete jungle.
I believe that we humans, as hairless primates with tender skin, feel the lack of shelter far more acutely than other species of social mammals.

no but i do help the homeless whenever i can. whether it's buying them food or giving them money. on my birthday in november, i gifted a homeless a brand new $50 sleeping bag. he was grateful because he was sleeping on cardboard.

@HappyHooker83 Hi HH. No not because she is a strong female. I have nothing against strong females. I guess some personality types just don't mix. Or maybe I just need to get to know her. Regardless of whether or not I like her I still hope the best for her. As for my Mom she is most likely stronger than anyone you probably know. She survived the Nazi death camps. BTW I subscribed to this channel because I care about people. Homeless and other wise. Have a nice day.

You would think that all those homeless people would somehow come together and build on each others. A divided country is a one track mind of self destruction. Together, is the only way forward.

You've hit on exactly what's wrong with them. They absolutely don't can't to know about the compromise and hard work of collective living. If they could do that stuff they would have done it. They can't. They're like outrageously spoiled children.

@youdevil6 Possibly, and I hope so.. But when you let people go from work you let the odd balls and the ones you don't like go 1st. I hope the best for her and everyone else. Btw apparently the guy who posted right above me (prestonbeckermusik) also finds her annoying.
