As a lot of men have stated here: welcome to our world. Modern society has been so hyper focused on women, women , women, that there is not a terrible amount of sympathy when the tables get turned. Ironically, both of these instances that she brought up, involved her getting ignored by younger women. Well, these are the women that you all created: youth obsessed, shallow and narcissistic. Being invisible is never a pleasant experience but if you're a man, this is an everyday experience for many. Unless you have money, status or perfect physical attributes, women ignore the majority of men all of the time.
perfect. Your statement is simply perfect. For me, it was the exact oposite as for this lady. When I was 20-something, I was the ignored one. Now I am 51 , and for "whatever" reasons, I don`t get ignored anymore.... It has to do, probably, with how you are percieved by other people......
I agree completely. One aspect of the issue that I tell other people, is that women are not the same as they used to be. In my Grandmother's generation, most women were ladies. Kind, sweet, moral, and strong. So yes, they got what the wanted, and I also have no sympathy for a demographic that made its own grave.

Women are gifted their beauty in youth. Men earn their skills as they age. This is just how men and women are. On one hand, I understand that it's a cold cruel world out there. On the other hand, I don't really want to see older women have meltdowns in public because they're not getting the attention that they used to. It's immature, and childish. If it was a man he'd be mocked at best, and beaten at worst for those kinds of public outbursts.
Men are gifted their beauty in youth too. Most older guys are balding with a beer gut. It's just that male beauty isn't valued nearly as much as female, and the standard for a male to be considered beautiful is much higher and harder to achieve (and can't cheat using makeup or high heels).
Fortunately ive seen dozens and dozens of regular older women having NO issue with customer service. They’re dressed casually in regular jeans, and some random non-revealing top etc; recieve the same attention as the rest of customers (which at many places means basically nil for everyone) and they act normal, are fine. Thank goodness! Guess at the end of the day though it boils down to one’s character.
Men loose it in public. Men over 50 are particularly prone to that. Seems they feel entitled to release their inner resentments after they reach a certain age. Extremely unattractive.

Yep this is why any women that is older and has been single most of her life is a huge red flag, unironically a woman out of a long term relationship is better then a woman who has been single most of her life. Has a women here ,it doesn't bother me that I am invisible, because I always have been since I was in my youth. I think it's mostly harder on people who relyed on their looks when they were younger, I could be wrong.
As a man, I think your comment is spot on. Those with the type of looks that opened more than just doors, often find it harder to adjust later in life when their looks fade. And not just women, but men, too. But it seems the UA-camniverse is inhabited by former models who bleat about things like at 40 having half the options / dates they had at 20 (but in reality probably a lot less than half). Worse are those that at 50 or 60 somehow feel they have currency but somehow feel it’s the fault of others for not noticing this. Having a few bouts of “invisibility” when young, does have its upside. It’s good preparation for later in life.
I have noticed this in public. These older ladies sitting alone tend to Nor make eye contact with any one. This tends to have wait staff walk on by. It has happened to me and I'm an hard not to notice 81 year old male.
This happens every day of the week to men everywhere. My usual is the waitress who won't look at me or speak to me as she's taking my order. I don't tip them, and if they ask why I tell them they're rude. Never just walk. Tell their boss or their boss's boss. That gets instant results because responsible managers know you can always spend your money elsewhere. Rude and disrespectful people are everywhere, you can't avoid interacting with them unfortunately. It's different when your spending your money. You shouldn't expect your ass kissed, but insist on respect or feel free to bad mouth them without guilt.

Is costing money. not sure if it's my upbringing, but I think that any business or person that treats everyone with respect, regardless of gender, age, etc, is a shoe in for success.
As a business owner, money-wise, the best customers are usually older people (35+ above) which is why I treat them better. There's no fuss, drama or extra demands and they also pay up right away. But then again, it depends on what type of business you're into.

Men are gifted their beauty in youth too. Most older guys are balding with a beer gut. It's just that male beauty isn't valued nearly as much as female, and the standard for a male to be considered beautiful is much higher and harder to achieve (and can't cheat using makeup or high heels).

Fortunately ive seen dozens and dozens of regular older women having NO issue with customer service. They’re dressed casually in regular jeans, and some random non-revealing top etc; recieve the same attention as the rest of customers (which at many places means basically nil for everyone) and they act normal, are fine. Thank goodness! Guess at the end of the day though it boils down to one’s character.
Men loose it in public. Men over 50 are particularly prone to that. Seems they feel entitled to release their inner resentments after they reach a certain age. Extremely unattractive.

Has a women here ,it doesn't bother me that I am invisible, because I always have been since I was in my youth. I think it's mostly harder on people who relyed on their looks when they were younger, I could be wrong.
As a man, I think your comment is spot on. Those with the type of looks that opened more than just doors, often find it harder to adjust later in life when their looks fade. And not just women, but men, too. But it seems the UA-camniverse is inhabited by former models who bleat about things like at 40 having half the options / dates they had at 20 (but in reality probably a lot less than half). Worse are those that at 50 or 60 somehow feel they have currency but somehow feel it’s the fault of others for not noticing this.
Having a few bouts of “invisibility” when young, does have its upside. It’s good preparation for later in life.

not sure if it's my upbringing, but I think that any business or person that treats everyone with respect, regardless of gender, age, etc, is a shoe in for success.
As a business owner, money-wise, the best customers are usually older people (35+ above) which is why I treat them better.
There's no fuss, drama or extra demands and they also pay up right away.
But then again, it depends on what type of business you're into.
